That was quick. This behavior is getting out of hand. How many guys are doing crap like this all the time and getting away with it? Also, what type of idiot chick (19 yr old) is hanging out with dudes like Hunt (23 yrs old) at 3am?

I will be watching this one very closely.  Yes, I watched the video and I've read several accounts and the self-described legal analysis on SI.com.  I've been blasted for this before but I'm not one to destroy someone's life over one mistake.  Two, the circle of friends he had with him and their actions to break up the confrontation say quite a bit in a positive way about the people he keeps close to him.   We've all made bad choices in emotional moments but his decision later to not tell the truth to the Chiefs was stupid.  They wanted to get out in front of this, as they should have, and he didn't let that happen.  I'm not saying bring him in now but I want Pace doing due diligence and gathering all the facts as this unfolds.   That includes speaking with Hunt and his friends as well as the victim.

Nagy was in the house last year so he knows the kid. I doubt this public perception  goes away soon. The problem here is him lying about it and led to being cut. If you watch the video, he kicked at her and did not have a heavy blow with his kick so their is grey area here for someone to justify to go after him. No way the Bears touch him but someone will. It is coming down to 0 tolerance for this kind of stuff , many other players were  more brutal with their violence to a woman. You simply can not do it in any form.

I have no way of knowing what she said but afterward he clearly pushes her away.  The she returns (indicating she is not scared or in fear for her life) and hits him in his face.  At that point he pushed her away, which is his right to self defense.  Saying that he hit her there is stretching things but ok it's not good to do that when he can just walk back into his room and call the hotel desk/security.  He is then restrained by his friends who try to take him back to the room.  She returns to the scene immediately afterward.  So if her story is that she was being beaten and scared for her safety by returning to the scene like that and then pushing one of his friends won't win the day in court.  At that point she is being the aggressor.  She pushed his friend backward into Hunt who is struggling with another friend.  At that point the man the woman pushed gets thrown right back into her knocking both of them to the floor.  So her injuries at that point were a direct result of her pushing someone else.  Again, she won't win that in court and she won't get my sympathy either.  That's likely why there are no charges.   At the end he clearly kicks her but likely not hard enough to cause any wounds or bodily damage or prosecutors would have pursued that.

He is going to lose at least $100,000 for this, and maybe closer to $200k.   Then there will be the lost future earnings from how this will impact his next contract, to sponsorship deals.  So he stands to lose millions.   I think it is fair to debate what is the proper punishment.  What is fair and (seriously) what is the norm for our society?  If we are all equal under the law, he should not be subject to any higher penalties than you or I.  I know some here say they have zero tolerance and won't take anyone that has done this on their team.  Why then should someone who has done this have a right to work anywhere?  Does it matter if he's your coworker at a site that employs a thousand people?  Do you even know he's on your site?  That effectively means we banish people to be homeless and on the street for the rest of their life with no second chance.  I get that we all have issues that affect us deeply.  I have zero tolerance for people who are abusive of children.   Adrian Peterson is still playing in the NFL.  I'm ok with that because I believe people deserve a chance to learn from their mistakes when they have paid for them.  He paid and as far as I know he has not had similar issues.

I don't know if there is more background to Hunt being a serial woman abuser as there was with Ruben Foster.  If Hunt has a documented history of this then I'd let someone else take the risk.  By the way I'd like to see TMZ man up and post the full video of this event because other guests in the hotel reportedly said she was in the hallway being very loud and belligerent after she was first escorted from his room.   I think that's why we don't see her or her friend in the video when he first comes out of the room and appears to be calmly asking her to leave.  Yet amazingly her friend already appears to be recording with her cell phone as soon as they are on frame.   Makes me wonder what they were expecting or hoping to have happen.

Just keep in mind there are legal norms for this when you remember she first called him the "N" word...

Fighting words are written or spoken words intended to incite hatred or violence from their target. Specific definitions, freedoms, and limitations of fighting words vary by jurisdiction. It is also used in a general sense of words that when uttered tend to create (deliberately or not) a verbal or physical confrontation by their mere usage.

There are many worst human beings in the NFL than Hunt. If you put this on a scale this incident is probably a 4, where people like Peterson, Ray Rice, I would say are 8-9 range for abuse. T. Hill on the chiefs is much worst in his abuse, the problem here is the climate we live into today with all the abuse stories floating around a video is a character killer. There is a whole list of players than need to be kicked out of the NFL way before Hunt but he is the one on the video. I have been in a situation a few times where I have been hit by women, I just didnt respond with violence, so I get the bad situation.

AZ, was going to put a huge rambling rebut to your comment but I feel the response would waste space where it doesn’t need to be.  Let’s just say you and I are on polar opposites politically with regards to this issue. Bottom line, like Stinger points out, no way no how do you put hands on a woman.  And I would go so far as to question my fandom if they even consider this asshat to becoming a Bear.  Andy Reid I’m sure had some say in this. To hell with his professional life.

That may well be true.   I was raised to give people a chance to redeem themselves and I still believe that's the right thing to do.   I was once thanked by a parole officer for helping their parolee get back  as productive members of society.  I understand and I'm accustom to being in the minority of opinion, especially these days.  Regardless I'm going to be honest with my opinion.

By the way I did not say bring Hunt in now.  This is absolutely the wrong moment for that.  I said I'd be keeping an eye on this situation and doing my own due diligence.  If this is all there is in his history, then based on this incident alone I would not be opposed to signing him in the future.    I'll have to wait and see what else comes out.  Equally as concerning is that he was not forthcoming with the Chiefs' front office.  That puts a question mark on any future discussions with him and it will take years for him to regain that level of trust again.

I'm not a chronic apologizer for people's bad behavior.  You will note that I wanted nothing to do with a serial abuser like Ruben Foster.  Foster's issues go beyond women too IMO and that was apparent in his behavior at the combine.  As the 49ers found out, you can give someone a second chance but reality is it doesn't always work out.   You have to be prepared to move on and you must limit your risk/exposure.

AZ, I agree he will get a chance at redemption, I am not sure talking about that the day after his release is the time to talk about picking him up. I would love to see the player with his ability play for us but he needs to do something to rehab himself to be put in the position to be given a new start. I think any time we see this type of behavior from a player it is not a isolated incident. I'm sure their are many situations this has happened before just was not recorded. Someone is going to pick him up, I just dont think the Bears brass will touch this at this time. Maybe next year after some type of a rehab situation. Nagy sticks up for him but he will be gone to another team before that. Their are many worst humans in the NFL before you get to Hunt. I just dont think we disrupt the good energy we have going now by picking him up now.

They were talking about K Hunt on the SCORE today( lots of people dont like it but that talk a lot of Bears and have good guests)

If he goes in to some form of rehab and with his past relationship with Nagy, would they go after him next year? There are a lot of bad guys in the NFL and he isnt high on that list but belongs on the list. If Nagy talks  McCaskey into it,  that he is the missing piece to get to  the SB, does everybody sign on? If he legitimately makes an effort to correct his behavior, Im in. With all the abusers in the NFL the only one I honestly think changed was Michael Vick. The Ray Rices and Peterson's never changed just did the steps.

With a lack of high draft picks, this would be a good way to upgrade the roster and perfectly fits the scheme at a low price.

He was not picked up on waivers today.

You figure he rehabs gets a 6 game suspension and walks us to the SB.

I thought I read that whatever suspension he got, it might exceed 6 games due to another incident (punching some dude in the face). What would suck would be for him to come in mid season and disrupt any chemistry with the current team.

Very possible that he gets more but I think they will know the suspension before they make a play for him. I am not sure they try to replace Howard unless it is an upgrade. I think their is value in keeping Howard as the OL get their shit together and block better or Long and a new RT get up to speed.  Howard is under contract next year and I think Nagy will make more of an effort to get him involved in the offense.

I watched the Hunt video several times. He went to his room in the hotel and the woman followed him up there. They had words and Hunt goes to leave and the lady says something that incites him. She goes back at him and swings at him, he pushes her. At this time he is being restained and she gets knocked down by a guy getting pushed by Hunt. Hunt goes over to confront her and a girl restrains him . As he is pushed away, he takes a swipe at her with his leg. It looks like he makes contact but a glazing blow, nothing heavy. I think he is more stupid than abusive. Their are some literal monsters playing in the NFL, he is way down on the list of abusers but he has to be responsible for being stupid. I have had 2 incidents where I have been hit by my ex-wife to be. She was wailing on me and I just picked her up set her on the couch and left. Another time she hit me with a crowbar and I just pushed her away and left. As pissed as I was and I would have been in the right to protect myself, I just dont hit women, so I took abuse and happily got divorced 6 months later.
