The Dolphins have reportedly begun contract discussions with Michigan OT Jake Long.

Don't read too much into this; the 'Fins will probably talk numbers with UVA DE/OLB Chris Long and possibly Ohio State DE/OLB Vernon Gholston before the draft as well. Still, the negotations indicate that Jake is being seriously considered for the No. 1 overall pick. To avoid a holdout, Miami wants a contract in place before making its choice, unlike Oakland last year.

Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly ran forty times of 4.75 and 4.68 at his Pro Day on Wednesday.

This may very well knock the underclassman out of first-round consideration, although his knees may not be 100%. By comparison, Dwayne Jarrett ran 4.67 and 4.62 at his Pro Day a year ago and went No. 45 overall. Kelly's vertical leap (32") also was unimpressive. He did reportedly look "very good" in position drills. Teammate Reggie Smith ran 4.65 and 4.61. Non-zone teams may only look at Smith as a safety now
