  1. I never said that I think Caleb is a bust? In fact I clearly stated that I will support whichever way Poles goes on QB. I’m not changing my position on the narrative “Bears must trade Fields” before drafting a top QB prospect because they don’t. Bears still have a 5th year option to decide on by May 24th and that’s it! “Iron sharpens Iron” and when Poles says he wants to do right by Justin there is so much to potentially take from that statement. For some it could mean find a good trade partner and landing spot for Fields. However, has anyone considered maybe Poles is referring to how he gutted the team right away which was both necessary and the right thing! However that also created a bad situation for Justin to succeed. Maybe Poles is actually dedicated to providing those roster upgrades now so that he can give Justin a fair evaluation before deciding his fate??? I’ve always stated the Bears have failed their past QBs by not providing enough weapons or protection and offense scheme built for them to succeed. Seems to me that Poles is trying to rectify these past atrocities! Exactly What statistical analysis am I wrong on? Don’t think I even provided one? PHX, When I say “let it go” I’m referring to your relentless “trolling” when someone post something that goes against your “all in” approach on Williams.
  2. I think Poles should keep this trading back strategy with sorry abysmal teams for the next 3-4 years so that the team is in position to take QB Arch Manning when he is eligible! 🤣🤤
  3. yeah, he only has 30+ years as a pro scout and 9 as a scouting director; what can he possibly know about NFL talent? 😉
  4. Come on PHX; Let it go already.. We get the point that you think Caleb Williams is the next Mahomes by your anointment. Most of us here will support whomever lines up under center for the Bears at QB. Truth, the last Bears QB I’ve been excited for prior to Justin was Jay Cutler. The Bears have been in shambles since they lost but should have won the Superbowl against the Colts in Miami. Many of us are trying to be quietly and patiently optimistic here. If Poles draft Caleb so be it, but I stand by my statement that the Bears don’t have to trade Fields away even if the plan is to draft another QB this year. I’d be fine with Mayes, Nix, McCarthy or Williams whichever way Poles decides is best for building a perennial winner in Chicago! RYAN POLES is not Ryan PACE and may be the best GM Bears had since Jim Finks! Ryan PACE swung for the fences and we see how that turned out!!! Mitchell freaking Trubisky! What if Pace traded down he still could have taken Mitch but would have likely landed several other good players still with the team! At this point, we all have dug into our positions and not going to change until either Poles makes a move and trade Fields or until Draft day 2024!
  5. Good article by someone who also supports Bears keeping Justin! https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2024/3/14/24100545/free-agency-chicago-bears-nfl-draft-plans-justin-fields-wide-receiver-edge-caleb-williams-trust-me
  6. I want to visit Thailand someday 😇
  7. Interesting and unexpected move - Ryan Poles keeps adding talent. Also, interesting fact is that Keenan Allen wears number 13; the same number Caleb Williams wore in college at both USC and OU. Is Poles sending a message or playing a psychological test with Caleb; waiting to see how he reacts to the news the Bears just added a veteran pro bowler WR that happens to also wears #13? Things are getting very interesting?

  9. Can anyone guess these 2 QBs?
  10. couldn’t help myself here; lol. Headline should read: “Bears use Ducks as Decoy?”
  11. I agree Alaskan…. The truth is generational talent can be found anywhere in the draft. If the label of “Generational Talent” goads anther GM under pressure to save his job and not the franchise then a brilliant mind will use that to his advantage and exploit it for a “generational haul” of draft capital! How could anyone fault Poles if he were to do something like this? I mean when Bellichick traded back he was considered “genius”!
  12. I agree Pix and certainly don’t have the time to research any of these prospects more than the Bears experts do. If they feel CW is the long term answer, fine. But if they do the reverse of what Ryan Pace did with Mitch, move down a few spots, grab MHJr as well as a QB like Bo Nix or JJ McCarthy then I‘m good with that also. I think we all agree we have not had a GM as bright as Poles probably since the GM that built the ‘85 roster! Its truly an exciting time for this franchise and fans.
  13. I’m with you Dave — been doing a bunch of mocks drafts to both kill time and cram for the draft since I watch very little college football!
  14. Today’s NFL is a multi-billion dollar business. We all see that QBs are rushed in quickly often to both the organizations and payers detriment. Unfortunately, the Bears have been light years behind in both identifying and developing QBs. Even when they get one with talent, they historically can’t protect him, give him ample weapons and or fail to develop a modern offensive scheme. Jay Cutler has been this Franchise’s greatest modern QB up until this point and everything I just stated is fact. When Chicago drafted Fields I honestly did not know much about him but was just hoping they wouldn’t screw him up (i.e. Rex Grossman) especially since we just got burned by Pace and his stupid trade up for Trubisky…. Mitch was a good kid and athlete but just never had the “it factor” and never should have been 1st round pick. Pace was inexperienced and so was Mitch. When Fields started dropping in the draft, Pace trade up with NY out of desperation thinking he could reset the clock which fortunately never happened. However, the Bears organization once again proved to be inept at everything. Who knows where Justin Fields could have been developmentally wise had he gone to a great organization? We all see he has some amazing talents at the QB position yet there are some undeniable weaknesses that hold him back and may not even be entirely his fault. Look Justin is a great kid and he alone made the 2022 season watchable and there is nothing more than I would like to see him succeed but whether it’s fair or not, most likely will not be here as both timing (when drafted) and time are not on his side. Unfortunately, Justin Fields may be closer to Tim Tebow than Patrick Mahomes. Both are great guys and extremely athletic but the teams that drafted them were a complete disaster. If it doesn’t work out here with the Bears, I hope he finds a team that can develop him. One thing’s for sure, having the 1st overall pick in the draft two years in a row beats the hell out of picking between 12-20 for the past two decades which is the quintessential definition of mediocrity! We would not be in this position if the Bears didn’t finally do something aggressive and smart: Fired both Pace and Nagy with time left on their contracts. I say smart because they finally may have got lucky to hire someone as smart as Ryan Poles whom has done a very good job at deconstructing and then constructing this roster over the past two years. I really do see the big picture and how important this offseason and draft will be on this organization for the next decade or two. There are a few very intriguing QB prospects coming out this year and are all in play with our two first round picks this year. Likewise, it’s a really deep WR and Offensive Tackle draft. What should Ryan Poles do? Not an easy decision because of time; remember what I said about the NFL being a mult-billon dollar business, well to often time is not luxury in the modern game for those entrusted to build a roster and win a championship. Sox fans only need to look at what was supposed to be a successful rebuild only for it to blow up in our faces. So, if time isn’t a factor, then the prudent GM trades back and loads the roster with more talent before being “all in” to win. Something the Sox recently failed at. However, we all know that time is a factor and the reality is, if there is a generational talent at QB then you have to take your swing and hopefully you knock it out of the park! I’m admittedly in the camp that likes Justin Fields enough to keep him this season, but also wanting Poles to draft a QB this year as well as doing some trading back to continue to build out this roster. Everyone seems to have the opinion that Poles must dump Justin to draft a QB in round one this year? Why not hedge your bets and do both after all, iron sharpens iron! Go Bears!!!
