The $6mil for a 1st rd contract absolutely would be part of the balance sheet. It's 25% of a $24mil/yr contract. Further you would be spending the money on a more proven commodity versus taking a chance on a rookie, or spending time on the learning curve. Myles Garrett's contract cap hit in 2026 is just $23.6mil.

You thought the Bears ran the ball well this week? Woo boy, Ben's gotta be licking his chops thinking about all the ways they can run right at Micah Parsons this week and overpower him. Chance to take a 2 game lead in the division with a win. Hopefully they get Edwards and Sewell back next week. LFG! -
Hard to wrap my head around this, the best team we played all year and we dominated a defense that has 5 or 6 pro bowlers on it. At the end of the third quarter they worked there way back to possibly take the lead and we smacked them back to reality. Pounded the ball and kept Eagles out of the end zone. Caleb not having a good day at the end of the game popped some plays to keep us in the lead. The best is yet to come.

And Detroit is fading. Each week they get further away from Ben Johnson is another week their offense looks a little less efficient.
-
Also the defense is slowly getting bodies back and they played well today. This could be a fairly tale year but I better wait until we beat the Packers. I may be a couple of games away from declaring a SB run. In two weeks both Edwards and Edmunds should be back . Next week Sewell should be back. The best is yet to come.

It's going to take me a long time to come down off this high. We just manhandled the Eagles defensive front for 4 straight quarters. There are a lot of first round draft picks in their front 7. Fangio may have kept the safeties back for most of the game protecting against the big plays Ben Johnson loves but he paid for it dearly. Now we're taking that running game to Green Bay where they just lost their starting DT. We get a couple extra days of rest and planning to boot. If Green Bay tries to do the opposite and load up against the run you know Ben will respond accordingly. It was a horrible day passing for both teams, and a horrible kicking day for one team. 35mph gusts coming sideways in cold weather. It affects the ball. That's why you need a good running game late in the season. Despite all the skill position talent on the roster Ben has been focused on the running game since the beginning of training camp. Dennis Allen has put together a good staff on defense. It's hard to say he's not getting the best out of the talent he has on the field. Even the DE we traded for, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, is making impact plays the last two games. In summary.. the Bears just did to the Eagles what the media expected the Eagles to do to the Bears.

Ben Johnson just outcoached Vic Fangio on a short week. DA had a masterclass with LB5 as his starting Mike. The Bears have scored 24 pts, the 11th time they have scored 24 or more. This offense is still a work in progress, yet still putting up those numbers.

Maye 10-2 Nix 9-2 Williams 9-3 is pretty crazy for 2nd year QBs. 3 of the top 4 records in the NFL in Week 13.
-
Bears now a game ahead of where they should be. If they can beat PHI, in PHI no less, they can beat anyone right now outside of maybe LAR. I think they can easily split the 4 tougher games and beat CLE to get to 12 wins and finish 3-2. 14 @ Green Bay Packers - TOSS UP (barely beat the Giants with Winston at QB) 15 Cleveland Browns - WIN 16 Green Bay Packers - TOSS UP 17 @ San Francisco 49ers - TOSS UP (just make McCaffrey a non-factor, make someone else beat you) 18 Detroit Lions - TOSS UP (Goff outside in January lol)

Here we go. I don't think I would ever imagine that I would be talking about the 9-3 1st Place Chicago Bears playing the 8-3-1 Green Bay Packers in Week 14, but here we are. This is going to be another weather game with game time temps in the teens, chance of snow and some light wind. Until this team loses, it is hard to bet against them right now. I am going to say 24-20 Bears in another one-score game.
-
Hurts actually underthrew the 1st TD to Brown and Wright was in good coverage and just misplayed it. On Brown's 2nd TD, they had McCloud on him, which is now someone I want on the field. The Bears defense has really struggled when teams play with tempo. I would not be surprised if teams try this earlier in the game.

I love this kind of stuff. I havent been online because I had fan friends over to watch the game. To me, they were in control for the whole game. I expected a last drive deciding the game but they fooled me. The defense was better with Gordon and JJ pulling some snaps. Poles should get a game ball for drafting Monangai, the most important player today. Edwards should be back next week. We played the team with the least amount of TOs in the league and we got two. Going into the season the fanbase was worried about LT , it appears to be okay. Worried about our RB room, we appear to have 2 ballers. People complained about drafting Loveland and Burder, they will be studs next year. I thought we would have a winning record this year based on pure homey faith, but this is actually looking like we might be good too.
