  1. Take a look at THIS and tell me if anything jumps out at you.

I know, I know, I shouldn't pay attention to this stuff. But when they just saw the two teams face each other and they're ranking 10 & 11, you'd think they'd give the nod to the team that WON THE GAWD DAMN GAME.

    I hate sports writers.

    C'mon, it's the USA Today for cry-eye...

  2. just an FYI...

Bears signed FB Tyler Clutts off the Browns' practice squad.

Clutts has spent time in the CFL, UFL and the Arena League since going undrafted out of Fresno State back in 2008. He takes the place of FB Will Ta'ufo'ou, who was waived yesterday.

    Anyone know anything about him?

  4. Born and grew up on the southwest side (near Midway), joined the service in '80 came back with my wife for the '83-'84 winter and was told that we were moving to a warmer climate... been in TN. since '84 (I only miss the food though).

I am suprised that there isn't a lot more former/present windy city people replying though.

  5. It's time to catch both the Bulls and Blackhawks in playoff mode. The Bulls are down 0-2 to the Cavaliers and start at 8 PM Eastern and the 'Hawks are down 1-2 to Memphis and start up at 8:30 PM Eastern. Both need Chicago fan support at this point.

See there is something positive about the Bears picking in the later rounds.

    The Memphis Predators????

Zorn among names mentioned for Bears job

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 11, 2010 12:08 PM ETWith Jeremy Bates going to Seattle with Pete Carroll, the Bears offensive coordinator job lacks a favorite.

(To be clear, there were conflicting reports whether Bates would have landed the job to coach Jay Cutler again anyhow.)

Mike Martz has reportedly been contacted by Chicago, and it looks like the team could reach out to other well known names. Comcast SportsNet's Kip Lewis reports that Jim Zorn and Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride are candidates to join the Bears staff.

Gilbride's name is a surprising one to hear because he is under contract with the Giants.

Other names ESPN's Adam Schefter mentions for the job include Falcons quarterback coach Bill Musgrave and University of Minnesota offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, who worked with Cutler in Denver.

  7. Cedric Bensen In Court For Speeding On the Edens

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Now it's a speeding ticket that sends Cedric Benson to court.

The Bears running back paid a $510 fine and received four months supervision, for chugging a little too quickly through the Edens Expressway construction zone last month.

Bensen was pulled over going 77 mph in a 45 mph zone when he was pulled over after 3 a.m. last month, police say.

Earlier this month Bensen was arrested on a drinking-related charge in Austin, Texas. Benson failed a sobriety test while operating a 30-foot boat on Lake Travis near Austin and resisted arrest before being hit with pepper spray, Travis County Sheriff's Department spokesman Roger Wade said.

Benson believes Texas officers used excessive force against him and plans to fight charges that he operated a boat while intoxicated and resisted arrest.

Local police tell WBBM Benson was alone driving an '05 BMW with Texas plates and was cooperative. The officer didn't know Benson was a Bear, until yesterday in court.

  8. If this goes on for awhile, people are going to start bringing up the selfish player stereotype. Singletary, Butkus, did they ask for new contracts with 4 years left on their current ones? Even if they were playing today, they would never do that. That is just what type of people they were. Obvioulsy Brian doesn't belong with them. As a player maybe, but thats about it.

Thanks Prophet...took the words right out of my mouth...

  9. I still say it's his back. He looked hurt while playing early last season. The intensity was gone from his game and it was obvious that something was up. He claims that it was arthur and it may have been but the wrong thing to do is make the statement "I had some arthritis in my back but it's ok now" and then try to get your team to give you more money the following season... ...hey! man up Url, you signed the contract, now honor it...
