  1. My plan

Sign Starks to be the RT. It would take big money, but it takes too long for OTs to develop to draft them in the first round. Robert Gallery was supposed to be all-world, but it has taken him quite awhile to be effective. Keep him at RT and Tait on the left side, as I don't think Tait can play RT anymore.

If you can resign Berrian to anything in the neighborhood of Crayton's deal, then by all means. But I would not give him premiere money, because to me he isn't a premiere receiver. He has major holes in his game, as have been pointed out here, and Moose is a great example of paying an imperfect WR top dollar. If Berrian can't be resigned (or perhaps even if he can, if Moose can be cut to make room), sign one of Hackett/Bryant Johnson/Drew Carter. WR is another position with too high a strikeout rate in the draft, and too long a learning curve. Those positions are ones I'd prefer to fill primarily through free agency. A new QB would be nice, but I'd rather surround Orton or Grossman with weapons than bring in a better QB and have him throw to Moose, Rashied and Hester all day.

Draft Phillips, the safety from Miami, with the first pick. This defense has proven it is dependent on a dominant safety to excel. He fills that role. Bring Brown back, and if he gets hurt again Manning can take over.

I also would NOT sign Michael Turner. For one thing, Adrian Peterson (ours, not Purple Jesus) looked about as good as Turner when he was in limited duty. Who knows what Turner could do in a feature role, he could suck too. Second, every other team seems to be able to find guys in the middle rounds who can come in and be effective. The Bears should be able to do that too (maybe this time they could draft someone bigger than my daughter ).

Those would be my top 3 priorities. But Angelo seems to take whatever position is least needed, and add that, so who knows. He'll probabyl draft a TE and DE with the first 2 picks.

Starks is gonna be way too expensive and he doesnt even start for Pit.

There is no way Berrian signs a deal like Craytons deal He is easily the number 1 WR in the FA Class now and he wants number 1 type money not gonna happen but he may be looking for a 5yr/30 mil with 10 guaranteed

I do like the Phillips pick but if we end up in the teens we should trade down I think Michael Turner has more 100 yard games then Peterson who just had his second so i dont think that they are comparable plus Turner's ypc is higher.

  2. I chose McFadden this Draft is full of OT that can be serviceable and they are saying Long is RT Pro prospect . I would actually trade down with Dallas and get their 2 picks see if we can pick a falling QB and RB (Woodson and Stewart or Felix Jones) 2nd Round Chris Williams OT in the 2nd beautiful if this scenario actually played out.

  3. To be quite honest, I don't really see a need at WR until the OL and QB gets fixed. The Bears haven't had a consistenly productive WR on the team since Curtis Conway!

Moose needs to go but how can you not mention Marty Booker since he left no WR has been even close to productive.

  4. A guy plays his position with all of two games of experience and what exactly was the dropoff from the "best WILL in the league"? I'm not saying Williams played as well as Briggs but it's logical to think that with a few more games experience he won't be that far behind. I didn't see enough of a dropoff today to warrant giving Briggs the big money that we can use to fix the Oline.

On the Packers long run it looked like he overplayed and got swallowed up by a blocker but he certainly seems like he is on his way to replace Briggs just as Briggs replaced Holdman. Denver can always find RB's maybe we can always find WILL linebackers.

  5. "I wonder if he will still try and throw Kyle under the bus like he did his rookie year. All talk and all drops..."

I thought the exact same thing when he dropped it.

"I don't care what Buffone says about the league being all about scoring points. This is just the lastest fad. Great offenses come and go (see StL). Great defenses come and go too. The Ravens and Bears have had a lot of success with their great defenses and average offense. Maybe if we had Tommie Harris on the field in the Superbowl we might have won that game. I'm content to continue with the great defense and work on building a good offense to complement them. Add in great special teams, which we have, and we're giving ourselves a great chance to beat anyone. "

I totally agree with this. I would like us to pattern our offense after the Steelers and Eagles. Those guys run, run , run to set up screens and play actions. That would be perfect for KO. This is great because, as we saw today, it keeps the other teams offense off the field and is a plus in cold weather.

It looked like after that drop they pulled Moose even though they were running most of the time. Berrian was out there trying to block people. I think its tells of things to come.

  6. I kind of want to draft a RB in the first especially if we draft as high as 14. This is a deep OT class I believe we can still get value in the second round and bringing in Faneca fixes this line. Resign Berrian, let Briggs go. I dont think we should sign a veteran WR its time for the younger guys like Bradley and Davis to step up, Moose has to go. Signing a safety like Gibril Wilson is also something we should try as well. Resign Grossman to a small deal. This is the most important offseason of JA's tenure he really needs to show what hes made of.

    Rd 1 RB Jonathan Stewart

Rd 2 OT (Tony Hills, Barry Richardson, Micheal Oher)

Rd 3a QB Joe Flacco Delware if you dont know about him check him out

Rd 3b WR (Marcus Monk,Jordan Nelson, a big Possesion WR)

    Rd 4 S BPA

    Rd 5 CB BPA

    Rd 6 G BPA

    Rd 7 BPA

    Offense:

LT Tait, LG Faneca, C Kruetz, RG Beekman/Garza, RT Tony Hills

Back ups T St. Clair, Oakley, and rookie

QB Grossman, RB Jonathan Stewart, FB Mckie, WR Berrian, WR Open Comp, TE Desmond Clark

Back ups QB Orton, Joe Flacco, RB Benson, Peterson, Wolfe, TE Gilmore, Olsen, WR Davis, Bradley, Hester, Monk,

    Defense:

LE Ogun, DT Dusty, Harris, RE Anderson

Back ups DE Bazuin, Idonijie, DT Adams, Toeiana, Garay

    LB Jamar, Urlacher, Hillemeyer

Back ups Ayenbadejo, Okwo, McGlover, (Roach seems like a special teams beast as well)

CB Tillman, Vasher, SS Brown, FS Gibril Wilson

Back ups McBride, Graham, Rookie, Payne, Manning, McGowan, Rookie

  7. I have to agree with Bradjock. Hester is a great talent, and is best suited as a return man who moonlights as a #3 receiver, with his responsibilities being stretching the field and creating matchup problems.

I agree do you think he could be our version of Wes Welker. Granted Welker runs better routes but instead of getting him the ball on screens and reverses why not move him in the slot and have him go across the field. Try and make him a first down machine and mixmatch him against safeties. I just feel if Turner doesnt have some imagination he needs to be let go we have to many weapons and we need to utilize them. Sean Payton and Jason Garret these guys are known for being creative with the offense we need someone like that.

  8. He's a guy they have to get the ball to more. He's so damn explosive and knows what to do after he has the ball that he has to start. He is just raw right now and hopefully the next OC can bring his development along.

As far as returns, no one is going to kick to him anyway until we have an O that can make them pay.

If they bring in a New OC then it has to be quick he needs to all the time he can get to digest the new playbook.

  9. Im really torn here I voted Running Back because i think if we jump in front of the Falcons we actually have a shot at Mcfadden who has the most talent in the draft. Jets being the Dark horse. This Draft is stacked with OT's at least 10 first day picks by my guess. If we stay where we are i would love to get a OT or if we get Faneca then I wouldn't mind us getting a Safety or RB like Kenny Phillps or Jonathan Stewart. JA's career depends on Faneca we are going to overpay and i wont cry about it.

  10. If you said Vasher, Brown, and Dvoracek, I probably would agree with you. Vasher himself is a difference maker, but he's not the difference between 5-9 and 8-6.

Do you remember the Daniel Manning Experiment the 4th quarter letdown in Detroit, The Washington game, and definitely the Seattle game. I really feel that he would have been a huge difference in all those games but Dusty and Brown are also major impacts but we have played well without them before.

  11. He has to look at value and we usually go Best Player Available he doesnt have the luxury this year we have serious needs. His previous years he was able to draft and red shirt this year he has to draft players that can play now so he has to get the most value out of his picks. This year he can not reach the team is not strong enough or young enough to do so. If he doesnt get Long he should not use the Number 1 on a lineman either it would be better to go:

1st QB(One of the Big Three *Woodson)

    2nd OT (Barry Richardson)

    3rd S Craig Steltz

3rd WR/HB Hopefully Hart Falls Far

  12. Draft:

The Bears Next 3 Opponents Vikings, Green Bay, New Orleans. We maybe come out 1-2 maybe 0-3, add to the fact that we are in evaluation mode meaning younger players will get more time. That doesnt bode well for our record but it helps are draft position. We are picking 11 as of now we might get lower than that not top 5 but maybe 6-10. I feel if we are in that range we can use a 1st and 3rd to Move up to get Jake Long. I really wanted to get Derek Anderson but i think Jake Long might help this team more in the long run.

Rd 1 OL Jake Long(moved up)

Rd 2 QB Colt Brennan (or another 2nd Tier QB)

Rd 3 Used to move up to get Jake Long

Rd 3 S (Craig Steltz or other Safety available)/RB

    Rd 4 WR/RB

    Rd 5 OL

    Rd 6 BPA

    Rd 7 BPA

    Offense:

Find a way to get Faneca in FA we would be looking at next years OL as: Long,Faneca,Kruetz,Beekman/Garza,Tait which might even make Cedric Benson look good save some money to not chase Turner.

Rex needs an incentive laden 2-3 year contract with that line he should have more time and be more effective. In the 2nd round I think we get one of the second tier QB's (Brennan, Ainge, Henne, Booty) giving them Rex's contract length to develop into solid QB. At WR Berrian needs to be resigned and it might take like 15 mil guaranteed to get it done but to see him leave and become a beast for some other team would make me cry. Also i would like to try and sign Bryant Johnson a big possession receiver. Crayton is prolly gonna be coming off a superbowl and demand some serious coin so i'll pass on him.

Miller,R.Brown,Moose, Metcalf and Griese should not return.

    Defense:

In FA Maybe Ken Hamlin comes free or we use the third round pick on a Safety like (Craig Stelz, Marcus Griffin, Tom Zibowski, or Josh Barret). Keep Mike Brown his contract is manageable and the boost he gives this team if he stays healthy is worth the risk. Briggs looks like he wants to go to the higest bidder, I would put in overly reasonable offer if someone outbids then so long Briggs hello Jamar Williams. Im not sure if we would save money cutting RMJ but if we are saving he has to go Trumaine Mcbride could slide in easily and Corey Graham is gonna surprise people he was coming off a broken leg this year, we have talent at the corner position. Alex Brown needs to start or be traded he would start on more than Half the teams in the league get the value while we can.

    Archuletta,Walker, RMJ, should not return.

    Special Teams:

Resign Ayanbedjo leave this years only consistent phase intact no changes.
