  1. I don't see either Tait or Ogun traded in the final yr of their contracts.

I see Vasher playing this season for the BEARS & granted with his injury history it maybe just 4-5 games.

Ogun should have a very good year. He'll want to look good and get as much as possible in free agency in 2010.

Tait's got about a quarter of a tank left. Let him play out hs contract and move on.

  2. REPORT: WARNER LOOKING FOR $9M PER YEAR

Posted by Sheil Kapadia on February 1, 2009, 3:27 p.m.

With Kurt Warner a little more than three hours away from starting his third Super Bowl, details about what he could be looking for in free agency continue to emerge.

According to NFL Network’s Adam Schefter, Warner wants a two-year deal worth about $9 million per year.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen also reported today that Warner wants two years.

Of course, as Aaron Wilson pointed out earlier, Warner hasn’t even decided whether he wants to play anywhere next season.

Meanwhile, rumors that Warner’s offensive coordinator Todd Haley is heading to Kansas City continue to swirl.

According to Mortensen, while Haley has not been allowed to interview with the Chiefs yet, he spent a significant time on the phone during the week trying to get a coaching staff in place.

Warner a 2 yr deal for 9 million a yr ? Seems awfully low to me. If I was his agent I would not agree to anything less than 2 yrs and 25 mill.

Didn't washed up Favre make 12 million last yr with the Jets ? If Warner comes back it will be for more than 9 mill a yr. especially after coming off a MVP season.

  3. Cards gave the Steelers the huge hundred yd td interception and couldn't stop the Steelers last drive.

You can't get inside the 5 and turn around and then give up 7 right before the half.

Steelers won because they were the best team.

  4. You find a lot of teams trying to use that strategy to save cap space after the "elite" blue chip players have been drafted. It will be more difficult to find trading partners to do this as a result.

I also believe like others have mentioned. This draft is top heavy in talent after about #15-20.

Just another reason why it will be difficult for teams to find a trading partner.

  5. Dirty Sanchez will be drafted after the 15th pick in the first.

I see him as this drafts Aaron Rogers but Rogers has more talent.

Right now I see the Lions drafting him with the #1 draft pick they got for Williams or Miami trading up to draft him..

  6. Ayers has been getting excellent reviews but I would not use a first rd pick on him nor should the BEARS.

I'm a Notre Dame fan and would use a 4th on Bruton but would not use a 3rd on a safety with hands of stone.

Bomar IMO is not worthy of being any more than a 7th rd pick. He was less than impressive at the Senior Bowl.

  7. Sorry you can't see the humor in it...

I'm not sure you get the point... I love the team, so it pains me to see this going on.

Unfortunately, you are stuck with me. I root for no other team than the Bears or whoever is playing Green Bay.

Cannot a fan express frustration? Granted, I never saw the Bears go through the 1969 season as I was only a toddler. But, I've experienced bad years since then for sure. While not as bad as that, granted, still bad.

There's honestly no need to go calling me a 13 year old girl. You sound like you're old enough to express your opinions thoughtfully without resorting to name calling.

I too take them seriously. I guess I just display my dislike for the direction they are going differently than yourself. Maybe you are content as is? That's certainly your call... You may also feel free to dislike anyone that complains about the team. My suggestion, if you don't like to hear complaints, go read the the content on the official team website. You will get the company line and hear pretty much nothing but positive. Usually, the most ardent fans, tend to have more complaints about what is going on, especially when the seasons aren't gong really well as we've experienced for the last 2 years.

I knew I'd get some flack for this...there are definitely some folks, like yourself, that don't like to read any negativity. I thought it would provide some entertainment for many of our posters. I'm sorry you were not one of them.

I think I'd make a horrible coach and probably a well below average GM, but I sure would love the opporunity to be the owner! I guarantee I'd restore the roar! It'll never happen, but, hey, a man can dream...

Good luck with your fantasy teams!

And good day to you, sir!

    BEAR DOWN!

I apologize for 13 yr old girl comment.

  8. lol

It might be more that every single post is the same negative drek.

We get it. You hate Lovie and think he is a Zombie.

A zombie that is 45-35 for a .5625 in five years. With a 2-2 playoff record and a super bowl appearance.

If that pains you so much, I can't imagine your pain the previous ten years with Jauron and Wanny. ( 35-45 for a .438 and 41-57 for a .418).

Lovie is not perfect, but he has brought our franchise back into relevance in the NFL instead of the doormat of the league.

    danimal,

You must be new. We have some of the best GM's and coaches in the NFL. Just ask them...

I'm new old and stupid ! and happen to believe Lovie Smith is a good football coach.

Granted he's no Abe Gibron..... :shakehead

  9. I failed to find the humor in it all but I might add if the BEARS are so GOD awful from top to bottom there are 30 other NFL teams .

Go be a Lions fan !!! :headbang :notworthy

I just love the know it all fans who could be a better owner, a better GM and a better HC.

Go thru a 1 win season (1-13 in 1969) sometime and then you'll have a reason to act like a 13 yr old girl who was refused a new dress.

Guess I take the BEARS a little too serious or am just sick and tired of so called BEARS fans who piss and moan every chance they get

    about the BEARS.

Hell I have enough problems trying to run my fantasy football teams. I know I wouldn't be a better owner or GM or coach.

You all have a nice day !!

    BEAR DOWN !!!

  10. Robiske and Iglesias both played well.

I had Robiske going in rd 3 before the Senior Bowl. Now I see him going in rd 2.

Iglesias was impressive as well and should go in rd 2 as well.

The guard play of both teams looked good. Looked to me as if this draft has some quality guards. BEARS need to draft one.

  11. Boldin is probably gone and so what if James leaves. But Warner? Forget it, he isn't going anywhere at all. They still don't know what they have in Leinhart. They would be retarded to let him go. Warner is only good if the Oline can protect him and give him time to throw, so forget about him coming to Chicago and lighting things up. He would return to his old ways of turning the ball over all the time if he came over.

I think the Cards are well aware of what they have in Leinart and it's not a lot. warner isn't going any where.

Boldin has two years left on his contract. I'm leaning towards he's probably gone but then there is the Bidwell factor.

He just might play hard ball with Boldin/Rosenhaus.

My best guess right now for BEARS record for 09 is 10-6 .

  12. I like it Pix!

    How bout this mock:

    1-Duke Robinson LG

    2-Phil Loadholdt RT

    3-Herman Johnson RG

    -----------------------------------

    3x-Louis Murphy WR

    4-Devin Moore RB

    5-Brannon Sutherland FB

    6-Chris Clemons FS

    7-Kyle Moore DE

Robinson better have one great combine because most folks don't have him as a first rd pick.

Loadhodt's stock is going down. I sure wouldn't use a second rd pick on him.

LeVitre is the #1 guard at the present time.

  13. If this guy hangs around until the 3rd rd, I would take him in a heart beat. Put Williams at LOT, Place Sinclair next to him at LOG, OK as Center, Place Johnson at ROG, and then grab a ROT in the draft or FA. Problem solved, we have a solid and powerful OL.

Herman Johnson, LSU, One Huge OG prospect, Would look great in a Bears Uniform, IMO.

6 7 380 something I like him too but I seriously doubt Lovie does.

The guy is carrying too much weight for Lovie. He likes them leaner.

  14. Could carel less if he is a friend of Lovies or not. If a former DC of the Bears will give some cudos, then i think its a right on hire. The defense will look like the D of old. Pressure, Pressure and more Pressure. Not only the fact that he is the Best DL coach in the League, but he is a quality human being. Look for this team to take drastic turn toward the playoffs next season.

You sir are truly the MAN !! but you probably don't care ! :headbang

  15. How much do you want to wager, Peppers, if not tagged, will be a GB Packer next year in Capers 3-4 defense.

I bet Capers was thinking about the chance of landing Peppers before he signed his contract.

He might also be thinking about Suggs as option #2 for his 3-4 if pack can't reel in Peppers.
