Bears hire Tim Ruskell

Posted by Michael David Smith on February 23, 2010 7:49 PM ET

We noted last week that the Bears were poised to hire former Seahawks General Manager Tim Ruskell, and now the deal is reportedly done.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Ruskell has agreed to become the Bears' director of player personnel, and the deal is expected to be announced in the next 48 hours.

Ruskell and Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo are friends who previously worked together with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although he apparently won't have the same title, Ruskell is filling a void left when the Bears fired senior director of pro personnel Bobby DePaul.

Ruskell resigned in December after five years with the Seahawks.

As Expected. Now everybody at Halas Hall has one of their ole buddies or two to keep the workplace comfy. Now, if this bunch could only put a winner on the field!
