Maybe we are just being thorough. Maybe we contacted their agents about someone else. Otherwise, I can't even fathom why we are inquiring about Jennings and Wallace. The only other obvious answer is that it's a smoke-screen. But that's too stupid to even be a smoke-screen.

I think it's just Phil doing his due diligence. I don't anticipate either of those guys signing with us. I imagine it's just to see what exactly their asking price was in case one of our primary targets gets signed by someone else.

Due diligence means assessing what your competition is going to do. If Phil is smart any info he can glean from agents about who is interested in their client and what type of contract terms they are discussing (even a range) helps us plan in terms of other teams cap space and priorities. If we are content with OG Moore and other teams want him too but their priority is to first sign one of the WRs it might help us get the deal done quicker.
