  1. Anyone know when the 2007 weekly schedule comes out? I want to plan a vacation in fall and I'd like to time it around the Bears bye week....
  2. In my opinion, You can't have enough Providence Catholic High School Alums on your team.... ... Its like playing with a 12th guy out there. I'd be thrilled... absolutely thrilled... if we got him. He's one of the elite interior OL out there and hes young.
  3. You're gonna like this article: http://www.belleville.com/mld/belleville/sports/16236632.htm Jackson criticizes fans who sold game tickets to Bears supporters Running back has 'a big problem' with part-time loyalty BY STEVE KORTE News-Democrat ST. LOUIS - Running back Steven Jackson is angry with the St. Louis Rams fans who sold their tickets for the team's Monday night game to Chicago Bears fans. Scores of orange-clad Bears fans were in the stands at the Edward Jones Dome during the Rams' 42-27 loss to the Bears. "I have a big problem with that," Jackson said. "There were a lot of Bears fans in sections that they shouldn't be in. We're having a rough year, but if you're going to be a fan, be a fan the whole year, not part-time." The Bears fans were so loud that the Rams actually had to go to their silent snap count on offense because the offensive linemen couldn't hear quarterback Marc Bulger. "We had to use our silent count, and when we ran out during the pregame, we were booed," Jackson said. "It was terrible. I couldn't believe it." The Rams also were forced to use their silent snap count during their 31-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 5 because there were so many Chiefs fans at the Edward Jones Dome. "Being a guy who prides myself on my performance week-in and week-out, to be at home and feel like I'm at a road game, it's embarrassing to me," Jackson said. Jackson said he didn't have any sympathy for the Rams fan trying to turn a profit by selling a $100 ticket for $1,000 to a Bears fan. "I don't feel for that," Jackson said. "You made a decision at the beginning of the year to the buy the ticket, eat it. If you don't decide to buy it next year, that's your decision. If you're going to buy it for the 2006 season, come to every game." Jackson said the Rams' 5-8 record also wasn't an excuse for ditching your tickets. "I hear a lot of people around the city sometimes complain about our play and how we are doing as a team," Jackson said. "Some cities don't have a team. We do come from (Los Angeles), and L.A. is dying to have a team again. If you're going to have a team, I think you should support them. I don't go out there and play halfway." Jackson rushed for 81 yards on 18 carries against the Bears. He might have gotten 100 or more yards if he hadn't gone down with cramps in both legs for a part of three offensive series in the second half. "I got a little overheated in there," Jackson said. "I guess I wasn't used to the dome being as packed as it was with Bears fans." After receiving some fluid intravenously, Jackson returned to the game. The Bears had increased their lead from 21-13 to 35-13 during Jackson's absence. "They put up 14 points," Jackson said. "I didn't think I was gone that long, but when I came back and looked at the scoreboard, I realized I had been gone for a while." Jackson also had a team-high 10 receptions against the Bears, but he doesn't know if his performance was good enough to sway enough voters to get him elected to the NFC squad for the Pro Bowl. Rams players will cast their Pro Bowl votes today. The results will released on Tuesday. "I'm not worried about it," Jackson said of the Pro Bowl. "It's out of my hands now. I put in the work, and now it's time for the voters to vote. A lot of guys are getting on me about the cramps. Hopefully, that doesn't take away from the toughness vote." Jackson ranks third in the NFC in rushing yards with 1,109. He's No. 1 in yards from scrimmage in the NFC with 1,789. "I've definitely put in Pro Bowl numbers," Jackson said. "Sometimes it's more about name recognition and team exposure and how you're doing as a team. Who knows? I feel very proud of the performance I put forth." Jackson needs only six receptions to break Marshall Faulk's team record of 87 receptions by a running back. "I'm not looking at the record," Jackson said. "I just wish our record would reflect it a little better, and then maybe I'd appreciate it a little more. To be able to have that record, it's going to mean something down the line, but right now it would mean something more (to be) in the postseason." 4. http://cbs2chicago.com/northsuburbanbureau..._348155354.html Bears Tank Johnson's Home Reportedly Raided Get breaking news alerts (STNG) GURNEE A search warrant was executed reportedly at the home of Chicago Bears’ defensive lineman Tank Johnson Thursday morning. The search warrant was executed at a home on the 400 block of North Delaney Road in Gurnee, according to a release from the Gurnee police department. Entry was made into the home at 10:58 a.m. and the occupants -- a 26-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman and a toddler and an infant -- were secured at 11:04 a.m., the release said. Officers with the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPSA) assisted in the execution of the warrant. No one was injured in service of the warrant and area residents were not in any danger, the release said. Items sought in the warrant were recovered inside the home, the release said. The nature of the warrant and a description of the items was not being released. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s office will review the matter, according to the release. No charges have been filed in the case, pending review, the release said, though a man was reportedly taken from the home in handcuffs. Gurnee Police Cmdr. Jay Patrick was not available to comment on whether the home was Johnson’s. That is not good
  5. I liked tony parrish too... But lets face it, at this point in his career this guy is crappy/slower/older version of Todd Johnson. He's best used against the run. He can't cover anybody... especially deep or over the top. Basically he'd be useless to us. I'd rather have Dante Wesley in at safety... This Tony Parrish is a long long long way from the Tony Parrish that played here 6 years ago.
  6. I heard Zack Zaidman say that this was only preliminary... there's no definitive diagnosis yet. After today, we're supposed to know a more accurate length of time for him to be out. They do know that he did not break a rib... but that the bruising is very bad.
  7. I'm not saying benson sucks, but that was the only sack of the day. You heard Grossman himself say that he didn't even get hit. That blitz was right up the middle.... it should have been picked up. I don't think the reason they went to AP was because Benson missed the block... but he did definitely miss it. He's been in the system two years now. The coaches have had time to evaluate his performance in practice...... He must really be bad at picking up the blitz.
  8. We heard so much in the week before about "seeing more of Cedric Benson"... then he only got eight carries. I still don't know what to make of this guy. I think he's got talent. From the day we drafted him, I've never understood his role on the team.
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2637214 The NFL has switched the bears game against the giants on November 12 from noon to 7:30pm. Its going to be a marquis showdown. Any thoughts? I'm generally positive about it. I love the sunday night game... actually, the pre-game is better than the MNF pre-game. I do always love rolling out of bed at 11 and getting ready for the bears at noon though... so that kinda sucks.
  10. Bye Week?! Bronco Nagurski never had no bye week!... and now he's dead!
  11. thats a great point. It probably was a little like the New Orleans game.
  12. Seeing as how the trade deadline passed on Tuesday at 4:00 Eastern, I don't think the "make a trade" option is very viable.
  13. oh man... this sucks. I hope Chris Harris is in game shape for week 7. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=2552 October 18, 2006 Brown sidelined following foot surgery By Larry Mayer LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Bears safety Mike Brown is out indefinitely after undergoing foot surgery Wednesday morning to repair a torn ligament he sustained late in Monday night’s win at Arizona. The seven-year veteran was injured on a running play shortly after he returned a Matt Leinart fumble 3 yards for a touchdown to draw the Bears to within 23-10 with :02 left in the third quarter. ------------------------------------------------------------
  14. I'm ready to begin questioning whether rex grossman is really our starter... he hasn't looked good on anything tonight
  15. oh man... they miked up leinart... we get to hear him get killed all night...
