  1. Brothers of the Beloved, Some of you guys have significantly more football knowledge/experience than me, so I'm wondering if any of you have thoughts on how the last two WR in line for the Bears this season will co-exist (roster-wise only, not fighting in the locker room or conducting a political witchhunt ala Thomas Jones/Cedric Benson) -- anyone see Davis having his role significantly reduced or flat out eliminated if Haas does what he did in the preseason during the games that count? While I appreciate his effort and what he did in Minnesota last year, I just don't like Davis and he has proven he can't go get a ball or steal away a pass that would otherwise be an INT, I just think he's too weak to go over the middle on 3d down...thoughts?
  2. I hope John Tait blocks once for Benson, once in pass protection for Rex, and walks slowly and carefully off the field straight to the hot tub. I am very worried about the offensive line this year and don't want to see the tidal wave start with Tait in a freaking preseason game.
  3. I hope you're right re being competitive and becoming one of the elite franchises for years to come, that is what I've been waiting thirty years for and thought we had brewing in the late 80's before hubris and greed stole it from me.
  4. When has he been durable? I agree his track record looks a little better after his stint with the Bears, but let's get stoopid here, Coach.
  5. He's actually one of the most over-celebrated 1300 yard rushers in recent memory. Totally OVERrated, IMO, I know its an unpopular opinion and I don't mean to say he's bad (just not a legend or anywhere close to it) but let's just wait n see how his stint with the Jets plays out and he doesn't have Olin, Tait, Ruben and Co clearing the way anymore. Something tells me his numbers were more a result of the line than him, especially considering his limitations physically.
  6. Camp is going very well. Hester catching everything they throw to him (still nervous that he'll overextend and pull a hammy and/or be preoccupied with offense and lose some effectiveness returning kicks, but what the hell, he's so talented they had to make this move), and Olsen looks awesome. I've seen them run a TE-led reverse pitch to Hester more than once, and I wanted to cream my shorts both times! Barring injury, I don't see how this squad isn't the run away favorite in the NFC again guys. WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO, I'm drinkin the kool aid a little early but I just have this feeling that Rex is going to give his critics a good example of what prison sex feels like this year.
  7. I think the team has already turned a lot of heads in camp. Including John Clayton, who, consistent with my own observations from two days in Bourbonais, noticed the numerous two TE sets and plays we trotted out. Health risks aside, I would guess that by midseason this current ranking will be much better, even though I tend to be a little cynical of Ron Turner's ability to really use our tools as effectively as possible.
  8. Hey All, Just heard about this board during a search to find something better than ESPN and the Scout boards. Glad to be here and psyched to start talking Bears football during what could be remembered years from now as something of a Bears Golden Age if Jerry Angelo's plans come through. BEAR DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
