  1. It is because you are making sense, for once.
  2. Was hearing good things about Taylor Boggs again last week on the Score. Not sure if he will pan out but it would be huge if he did and then they didn't have to find that next Center. Boggs
  3. Had to throw some humor into it. Someone is using Jerry Jones, the new Al Davis of the NFL as point of reference to validate something is beyond funny.
  4. Actually I am pretty sure the only reason Dallas kept theirs is Jerry was still butt hurting from the backlash of letting Rob Ryan go and didn't want to chance that again so soon. Funny how Billicheck could keep his defense semi decent, NO could keep their D at the top of their game to name just a few with lots of injuries. Oh yeah, they have a DC/coach that actually knows how to run a D and were able to adjust schemes. Not to mention when something wasn't working, CHANGE it. How many weeks did they have to watch Bostic run around out there completely lost, before maybe moving say, James Anderson inside as he has played some MLB, moving Bostic outside or inserting Constanza there depending who played better and when Briggs came back had a linebacking group of Briggs/Anderson/Bostic or Greene in there. Instead they left the middle linebacker in the position to fail. As you so often like to mention injuries, to the middle of the line made that the weakest part of the defense. So by putting a Veteran that actually knows how to play at the speeds of the NFL to help solidify the middle of the D instead of a rookie completely lost out there, would have made sense.
  5. Oh nice, kept missing the name on the radio here at work and I have been wondering. He seems like he may be an interesting canidate at first glance.
  6. But injuries blah blah blah Mel Tucker blah blah blah fair shake blah blah blah ...still a horrible coach, no players improved during the season, same mistakes all season, zero adjustments to compensate for injury. I completely agree with you! Sorry couldn't help myself
  7. oddly enough, nothing has been verified yet by any major news source.
  8. http://www.syracuse.com/axeman/index.ssf/2...i_added_to.html Another source claiming it is true now too.
  9. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,5398400.story This is an odd story, says they are still interviewing people but reports say he has been hired. Though in the 5 hours this has been news, how many people could they have actually interviewed.
  10. from Wikipedia Chicago Bears[edit] on 1-16-2014 he became the Chicago Bears new linebackers coach
  11. I found it on the score 670's website, in the form of a tweet, and they have stated it multiple times during the Mully and Hanley show. They are talking about the hire right now on the score
  12. Hopefully because no coaches on the team could teach them anything this season.
  13. Yup found the tweet: We have learned that Paul Pasqualoni will be the #Bears new linebackers coach... 52 minutes ago
  14. The score announced the Bears had signed a LB coach. He was former HC in college. Paul something
  15. All of that would have been done before Briggs was injured. And who knows if he would have been injured as the situations would have been different in games.

  17. Not running the Tampa 2 anymore as they didn't have the horses for the show after the injuries. These players have played football their entire life and I am sure they would have some idea if schemes were tweaked to adjust for injuries. Try not using such vanilla blitz schemes where you know exactly where the blitzer is coming from as a fan and the O I guarantee can tell. Not to mention they had lost the middle of their D, so instead of bringing random people up the middle they continued to blitz from the corners and as what was happening to the DE all the qb had to do was step up. That's just a few things off the top of my head, and I don't have access to study the film all week to see what was working and what wasn't working. I continued to see the EXACT same mistakes occurr over and over, which points to coaching or in this case lack there of. I understand with injuries there is going to be some dropoff in the D, but not the wheels fell off and the car exploded, almost worse defense in HISTORY,and was the worst D in Bears history, kind of dropoff. We are stuck with him for at least one more year so I too hope he figures it out. But again his track record just doesn't show it is going to happen. Here's to them hopefully getting the right pieces in place and finally making it to the promised land.
  18. Point being, when injuries happen, other coaches adjust the scheme to fit what they have left. Continuing to try to pound a square peg into a round hole, isn't going to fix it. It suggests the person running the show doesn't know enough to change things to maximize the talent they have left on the team. So now there is a conspiracy, that players tanked on purpose to prove what, that they don't want a large payday next time they are free agents? The Bears went from one of the best Defenses in the NFL to one of the worst of ALL time. The Saints had a horrible defense and even with injuries, was able to become one of the best in the NFL. Hopefully he rights the ship but based on his previous track record and lack of improvement by ANY of the players on the defensive side of the team speaks volumes.
  19. But Mel Tucker is the DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR, not the DB coach. If he can't figure out where to put players in his defensive schemes how can he be running the defense? Again SMC was completely out of his position, playing DE. I think he is a bust as well but throwing out when someone was drafted and using that as the reason the player did well and not COACHING, as proven by your own statements, doesn't work.
  20. Tim Jennings probowl player, Julius Peppers, probowl player, Tillman for most the season, probowl player, 2nd round pick Bostic, first round pick Shea Mcclellon Funny how you pick and choose what to remember. And those snubs weren't anything last year until they were taught and put into position to succeed by the DC, which didn't happen in Chicago with JMarcus Tucker running things.
  21. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2014...ercome-injuries The Saints had the most defensive injuries in the league and didn't almost break the record for the worst defense in history, WHY? coaching that is why. Ryan, who we could have gotten, was able to ADJUST the defensive scheme to compensate for injuries, for the 4th ranked D in the NFL, while Chicago, flaundered. Tucker doesn't have the knowledge to adjust his defensive scheme and has made his career off of other people's systems.
  22. Tons of teams have injuries and not had such epic failures in regards to players getting the right play calls or in the rookies case not improved as the season has gone on. As you seem to have ignored, I stated the fact that they are using injuries as an excuse, to keep one defensive coach while firing other defensive coachs, seems to be a talking out of both sides of your mouth excuse. Just because he was interviewed for a head coach vacancy doesn't make him a good coach. Don't want to bring in the Rooney rule as I don't like race being used as a reason for something happening, but in this case it may have been. His entire coaching history has never warranted his consideration to be a head coach as he hasn't done ANYTHING ever in his career as a coach to show he has the ability to teach, let alone come up with a scheme. Every place he has been he has run someone elses schemes, and they have each gotten worse under him and when he didn't have a system already in place, was fired the very next year. Sorry I love Ditka, but he is one of the main reasons the Bears only won 1 superbowl with that team. So what he thinks in regards to coaching, doesn't hold much merrit in my eyes.
  23. My point is I don't think he was making the calls in important situations and after his "mentor" left and he didn't have that crutch to fall back on and tell him what to do, he failed, and his track record continues to show it everywhere he has been. I too hope I am wrong and he turns things around, but if it looks like crap and smells like crap...well you know.
  24. How was that D after Del Rio left and was still "not making the calls"?
