  1. I agree, i think they have a hidden fire they will release come week 1

True i also believe it has something to do with Adams and Dvoracek he was getting hit by guard everytime Adams was in Dvoracek was getting into the backfield he was coming more clean. I think Briggs is going to have more tackles than Urlacher this year.

  2. What??? Booker has been in the league for 10 yrs. He has played all the WR positions. Give me a break.

Booker is notoriously a crappy practice player. Several reporters have backed this up. Booker performs during game time. He's not going anywhere.

    Peace :dabears

Im with you on this without him we are going strictly on potential Booker will perform when the season starts and trust me with Orton at QB hes going to see alot of action.

  3. Gotta go with Matt Stafford even if Orton or Grossman have a decent year we have good window now to finally develop a good QB plus QB's are not hitting the market well good ones at least so GO Bulldogs!!!!

  4. No surprise to me... Like connor mentioned in his reply, neither really looked fantastic agasint a sub-par KC D. Also, many believe, as I do, that Grossman has nude pictures of Lovie and Jerry...and thus always will get the start regardless of the "supposed" competition.

As much as I'd rather see Orton, I think unless either really shine or stink it up, we'll see Grossman start game one. But I do think he'll be on a very short leash unlike previous seasons. Apprently the nude photots do have an expiration date...

I think this is one of Lovie's dumbest ideals ever how can judge who's doing better when they are not facing the same Defense or have the same protection doesnt make sense. Giving Grossman the start at Seattle is dumb as well, I would sure as hell want to face Kansas Cities number 1's then to even look at Seattle's. This all brings me to the point that Lovie isn't stupid has already chosen Orton as the starter and this qb competition is more about the fans then whats really going on in house. If they both play similar through out the rest of the preseason im guessing opening day he's going to have to flip a coin again, at least he'll be consistent.

  5. Since we have such little value in tradeable players why not picks. We do poorly in the early rounds anyway why not trade them for a really good RT (cuz nobody will trade a LT they are almost impossible to come by) and if we have to move Tait back over to LT till they can get this Chris Williams situation in order.

  6. "Could someone go out on a limb and predict if any of our five 7th round picks will do anything??? The way it's going now, unless it's the IR or the practice squad, none of those 5 will make it past the September 1st cuts. Which pisses me off since on draft day, JA was constantly trading down to get extra picks. Extra picks don't help if they can't make the team."

Thank you this is the thing that drives me nuts as well. Trading down for the sake of extra picks doesn't mean beans if after trading down so far they are in such a deluted talent pool they don't have the skills to make the team.

7th round picks Monk and Barton will be the only ones to make the team and if Bauzin isnt that great maybe Baldwin but thats a huge mountain that he has to climb. I want to go with Davis who is the definition of men among boys, he towers over people catches everything we might see him in more redzone packages and i want to know which LB or Safety is gonna get a jump ball with that guy.

  7. I believe most all would agree, LT is the most difficult position on the OL. It is hard enough for a rookie to start at LT, and w/ each missed practice, Wiliams chances might drop a bit more. Further, we are reading how St. Clair is "supposedly" looking pretty good at LT.

I wonder if there is a chance Williams is moved inside for the season. If he can't beat out St. Clair at LT, I have a hard time seeing him sitting on the bench. Lovie doesn't talk like he will simply start Williams, regardless how he looks, though we all know better than to take Lovie at his word. Still, I wonder if a move inside isn't possible. Many other 1st round OTs were initially moved inside. Gallery stuggled at LT, but did well inside once moved. Ditto Leanord Davis.

This may be a way to get him on the field, begin his development into the NFL, w/o putting him at a position he is not ready for. Also, I wonder if working next to Kreutz wouldn't help the kid's development, more than working on the outside next to only St. Clair.

He is way to finesse, Guards are usually maulers. Williams is going to be good LT he should get all his reps there not be moved around.

  8. Things im taking away from the highlights:

Forte looks for real unlike Benson he hits the hole hard and when he has some room he gets a second gear

Bradley is showing that he belongs if we keep six WR (Hester,Davis, Lloyd, Booker, Bennett, Bradley??) sorry Hass

Vasher and Tillman are so underrated these guys are prolly a top 5 duo

and Rex really looks like hes whoopin Ortons ass in the QB contest but he seems to always look good in Training camp

  9. Lets wait till we see him in preseason match ups before we call him a wasted pick. Defensive line players like Offensive line players are high commodities and if Dan Bazuin stays healthy we will be glad he's on our team.

With so much attention going towards Devin Hester, Grossman vs Orton, Matt Forte, Brian Urlacher, and a healthy Mike Brown, the sports writers haven't had time to think about the Dvoreceks, Bazuins, Okwo's, and so on. Give it some time and the news will start pouring once the boredom of camp starts creeping in.

Last preseason he got a sack in a pre season game i was watch the second team for Mark Anderson who uses the speed move around the edge i kept seeing Bauzin push the RT back during the 2 min drill. He might be a surprise lets wait and see what we got.

  10. Think there would be any interest? I am surprised he was released. Other than Chambers who they picked up in a trade last year, their WR corps is kind of thin.

I doubt it we have a ton of underachieving WR's already and we really need to see the potential of a lot of guys.

  11. It's too bad the Saints still have no RB or D. If they had somewhat of a D, any part of it, whether it'd be a good pass rush, a good secdonary, or a good set of linebackers, well they don't have any of those.

I think your wrong, Deuce is still good with Bush and Pierre they are not worried about the RB position they drafted CB Tracy Porter and DT Sedrick Ellis and signed Johnathan Vilma they are going to be a tough team to beat with Shockey they are actually scary

  12. With the signing of Urlacher that makes 5 starters (Url, Harris, Briggs, Gould and Clark) we rewarded. Im wondering if anyone is mad now that we didnt chase Faneca or Turner and maybe not have extended one of these guys.

  13. On offense im gonna go with Forte having an awesome season better than most people think and Hester will be helping him out because no team is going to stack the box when Hester is on the field with a more expanded roll. Kevin Jones change of pace back Forte will put up good number plus im watching some of his college videos he is a beast.

On defense i called it on Corey Graham when we drafted him he was coming off a broken leg but our corner's are amazing top to bottom we have 3 big corners with Bowman, Tillman, and Graham. Not only is he going to be the 3rd corner but he is going to be the special teams ace.

  14. Agreed. Being the worst player on the Bears defense is like being the ugliest skank at Hugh Hefner's house. It's still pretty damn good.

Here's a sobering thought: THREE offensive starters from week 1 last year are likely out of the league (Fred Miller, Ruben Brown, & Mr. "I ace the sobriety test every time")

If we cut RMJ, there's no doubt in my mind he'd be signed quickly. He doesn't even start. D Manning would go fast also.

Our back-up/mediocre defensive players are highly sought after while our offensive starters go directly to the scrap heap. That speaks volumes about the differences between our offense & defense (although Arch is in the heap also)

Yeah if Todd Johnson and Cameron Worrel got picked up RMJ wont have any trouble finding a new home. Where as Justin Gage is the biggest name of our offensive cast-offs in the last couple of years.

  15. Agree good stuff.

Agree with the Moose point. A possesion receiver should never be at the top of the league for drops. And then blame the QB's. I never thought he was the "captain" everyone made him out to be.

I like alot of the 7th round and FA linemen we brought in, although just cause someone took some snaps at center doesn't mean Kruetz is gone.

Yeah i dont think Kruetz is gone I thought he just got a contract extension to end his career as a Bear.

  16. Good points Nfo and AZBF. AP is now the undisputed leader on STs. And while he was able to break off some nice gains, he did that, for the most part, in 3rd down situations when teams were thinking pass first and pulling back. I too do not think that he should be considered our nº 1 back. He is valuable, but for other reasons. Let's see what we can do with the trio of CB, Forte and Wolfe.

Like you said AP is the ST leader especially with Brendon Ayanbedejo gone. Last year i saw him whiff on so many blocks when i thought he was supposed to be a good blocker. He did his most damage on screens and draws and I think Wolfe in his sophomore year should be taking that over he seems better suited for those kind of plays.

  17. 1. Chris Williams - Pretty much a certainty on drafting a LT. Dont understand why it was him, if we wanna be a running team isnt this guy a fantastic pass blocking OT? To me all OL are the same so wont argue it.

    2. Forte - Still upset we made no play at Mendenhall but it was either Forte or Kevin Smith as our RB, but thought we shoulda taken Brohm (Or Henne, bleck) and/or aquired another 2nd rounder and taken either of the above. Forte will immediately loved in chicago and will probably open the door for Benson to leave.

    3. Earl Bennett - Dont really like it. With a rather shitty WR class, at least take a guy with crazy speed. We dont need any more possession "recievers". Basic Angelo "eh?" pick

3a. Marcus Harrison - Could be the steal of the draft if he keeps his head outta his ass.

    4. Craig Steltz - Love the choice. Demps may have been the more athletic Safety, but steltz is probably the better football player, goodbye Archullessa.

    5. Zack Bowman - Dont really care, but a steal or irrelevant guy. Great size and speed so who knows.

5a. Kellen Davis - Dont understand it at all, especially without getting a QB. Dont know what hell bring really, but two huge and fast TEs could help any QB out.

7abcde. Dont care, but love Marcus Monk - With good rehab and some luck may be a super-steal/super-star. Has great chance to make the team considering his competition.

Overall Ill say B. Will take a strong effort from Forte for people to forget about the Mendenhall issue, but in time should work out. I think we shoulda taken a better road blocker rather than Williams, but how hard can it be to Run Block, plus i think OLmen are basically the same anyway....

    1. Chris Williams (A) will be an upgrade at 2 positions and the knock on him is not his run blocking just his demeanor he can run block he just isnt nasty enough and if you listen to his interview on the score he sounds like excellent character.

    2. Forte (B) wanted Mendenhall would have gone nuts if we traded back up for him but Forte is more of a complete back than Mendenhall but his ceiling is not as high. Forte will beat out Benson hard worker tough guy.

3a. Earl Bennet © Led SEC in Catches a possession receiver who I think will be our number one in two years but it gets the low grade because who was on board still (Manningham, and Doucet)

3b. Marcus Harrison (A++) Steal of the draft will push Dusty great insurance policy against Tommie and kinda gives me that Mark Anderson feel

4.Craig Steltz (B-) Good pick this marks the end of Archuletta hes a better bigger version of him

5a. Zack Bowman (C+) The Upside is excellent he is a big physical corner but we locked up our 2 young corners found diamonds in McBride and Corey Graham corner should have been a later round pick but this could mean the end of RMJ which i dont mind Bowman might even beat out McBride if he pans out.

5b. Kellen Davis (F) This is the worst pick from JA in a long time even worse than Bazuin in the 2nd because high rated prospects were still on the board and he doesnt fill a need. I know we needed a TE but a blocking TE and Kellen Davis is not that ( Schuneing, Nicks, Josh Johnson, Owen Schmitt) JA this guy would have been there in the 7th. Not to mention that we have one of the best TE tandems in the league.

7a. Ervin Baldwin © How many DE's are we gonna have on this team its the 7th round so i cant really complain.

    7b.Chester Adams © Depth

7c. Joey Laroque (NA) Will not make the team maybe Practice Squad

7d. Kirk Barton (B) Some had him going in th 5th good steal Big 10 guy with experience

7e. Marcus Monk (A) Grade is on upside alone could be the next Colston

Overall the grade is B. Nothing to be to excited about except for maybe the RB competition and the Safety Competition but we filled some needs and got some good value.

    Worst Pick: Kellen Davis

    Best Pick: Marcus Harrison

    Sleeper: Zack Bowman

    Disappointment: Craig Steltz
