It drives me crazy to see Mizzel or Cunningham in the backfield!
We have two stud RBs that can be used like thunder and lightning, why the hell would we add a 3rd and 4th RB into the mix and not allow our studs to get in rythm????
-
Did Gase give Gary Crowton a call for the gameplan today?
Shoop...
-
We need a lot more Forte in the second half. Why not more passes than him?
Fuller looks great today!
-
If this was the offense the bears were going to bring out today you might as well have started clausen
The hell is up with this damn wr screen! Please stahp!!!!
-
You can't go to the well too often. GB blew up 2-3 attempted screens and were looking for it all night long. I think his targets are about where they should be.
He is definitely thriving in this offense. If we were 6-2 and didn't lose that WAS game, he would have to be in the MVP conversation. Right now he is 4th in the league for total yards from scrimmage at 121.8 yards a game with 7 TDs. Only Charles (123.8), McCoy (122.8), and Bush (121.9) are ahead of him and he is only 2 yards per game from the top.
I don't necessarily mean screens. I love the play where he chip blocks then releases but many times he is just being used as a blocker. I think he should be getting 45-60 catches a season to get maximum production from his skill set...
-
I think you're right. Can you imagine if we used ALL his skill sets? Look at the yardage he got on those two dump offs last night...
-
This has been driving me crazy all season! We are not getting any lanes for him again tonight and we had success with a dump off to him earlier. Why are we not using one of his biggest strengths?

One of the biggest problems with this defense is the money Peppers is making. If you then stack is up with what Briggs, Melton, Tillman and possibly Jennings are making then how can Emery improve in the short term. Would both Izzey and Brian have come back to the Bears and accepted 1 million and 2 million respectively, I don't think so and it would have been probably 3-5 million for Izzy and 5-8 for Brian. They replaced them and Roach for 3 players for about 3 million. Who would have guessed Peppers would look this bad and is it down to an injury that can improve after the break, lack of effort or old age. He must be seeing what the media are commenting about him looking old and there as been a history in Carolina of him playing games with no effort. Can Emery make the decision to cut or are with stuck with the contract that was made to bring him here and I can state that I was ecstatic that day. Does he retire this year and if so does that tHe US out of the cap hole. If he was cut now can do they save any money this year to be able to bring in a decent D tackle via trade. If not this is the defense we have this year and hopefully the Offense can carry us to the playoffs.
Regarding Forte up the middle why don't they try Bush and Forte with TE Bennett and Marshall and Jeffrey WR on first down. This would give the option of Forte off tackle or a pitch play, Bush up the middle and if it was a play overloaded to the run then audible to a pass play with Bush pass protecting and Forte out in the flat with a linebacker covering. With Bush up the middle couldn't Bennett lead block?
I always agreed with the NFL players that Urlacher was overrated. He had a great start to his career but then just lived off the hype he created. He was a very good player and very important to our style of defense but once he lost the fat boys up front, his play suffered greatly because he wasn't free to use his freakish speed. He couldn't blitz or shed blocks and was not a good head-on tackler (remember when Brady juked him? Ugh!!!). All that being said, I prefer him to Williams but not over the potential we have in Bostic. Not saying Bostic will have a career even comparable to Urlacher's but I think it's possible 2013 Bostic could be better than 2013 Urlacher.
-
I was not a fan of Williams but it sucks that he got hurt. That being said, I've been hoping Bostic would come in and give this defense a spark. Not sure how much better he can make us with our d line in shambles but I'm very excited for this week's game!
-
Bostic had another nice banger on special teams today. Can't wait to see this kid at middle linebacker to give our D a youth and energy infusion!
-
DJ Williams was an above average linebacker. Seen him play a lot. Evidently you haven't.
He was earlier in his career, but he didn't look like it today. 3 tackles and 2 assists as a middle linebacker isn't gonna cut it...
-
Have you ever seen Williams play? There's a reason he didn't get many calls in FA and signed for next to nothing.
This was my thinking. I know Bostic is going to maje rookie mistakes but I'm not abig Williams fan and on top of that he's been injured. Bostic might be more ready to play in this system than Williams...

Before the games start to roll, I would just like to say, I really like what Emery is doing. He looks like he had a really good draft this year with 10 rookies finding spots on the team. Last years draft is still a big question mark, but with Lovie still around I suspect he influenced the draft quite a bit. If we get more contribute out of the ones left from that draft, it will be considered an decent draft. He is remaking the roster, and not afraid to get rid of people he drafted if they dont cut it. With DeAngelo, he would just hang on to them because he kept trying to prove there valve. He didnt jack with a defense although being old, is still productive, with adding some new blood. Trestman is a breath of fresh air compared to the way lovie did things. I guarantee no more delay of game penalties, wasted timeouts and bad decisions all around. I dont know how successful this team will be going forward but it sure has me enthusiastic with the prospects of us becoming a very good team. We're all here because of the beloved Bears and I think our future looks bright, there will be some bumps along the way, but lets remain positive and keep the soothsayers at bay. We have a lot of smart people on this site, and it is one of my favorite places to visit. Along the way everybody, but maybe Mad, says something stupid and then them heated debates get started. We are all opinionated and thats what makes this site interesting. If it was rose gardens and Barbie dolls, I wouldnt be here. Alot of things I say is meant to be humorous (doesnt always succeed at that) and will get misconstrued, most is not said with malicious, but I have been a jerk a few times on here. For that I apologize. It is just human nature that when name calling starts you say something stupid. I have jumped in on hot topics without lining my facts and said somethimh that has looked dumb, but willing to admit that. I have had heated debates with many on here, but when they have made a good post,I have given them a pat on the back. I will never condemn the board because most dont agree with me, I like it here, and if I tell you this is my last post, you wont see me again. Let the games start.
Wall of text crits you for 999999!
Lol, for future reference please divide this into paragraphs. It makes it a little easier to read for us with bad eyes. Thanks dude!

I'm curious to hear how the majority of fans and AM radio guys in Chicago feel about Williams probably getting the nod over Bostic to start against the Bengals. I personally wanted the rookie out there to start and let Williams come in to spell him while he got his conditioning back a bit. How do you guys feel?

Now that sounds like a proper party! Have a great time, lucky you and your friends.....
I will be asleep by the time the Bears start up their game, here in the UK game rituals are out the window, so will content myself to getting up early Monday, reading the reviews, and studying the game on Game Pass, which is a great new addition for me so am looking forward to that! Going to check out Exhibition Game 3 again here in a minute, game 4 was too full of backups for me....
Daventry, if you want to set your alarm to watch the game live, I can give you a website that streams just about every sporting event live...

No clue
I was thinking the same thing. I used to like reading nfoligno's posts...

That dude was/is(i don't follow ccs) a Webb supporter so he obviously knows nothing about OL play =p
I Webb supporter? I take back my compliment you hack!

Great analysis. Thanks for the interesting read...

Haven't seen this discussed anywhere but PFT, but what is the sense in Chicago? Was Urlacher just joking that he didn't want the Bears to win this year without him?

our D held one of the best offenses in the league to 2 field goals (td on special teams). let's cut them some slack...

that fake fg was a kick in the balls, ugh...

This really sucks. I switched from DirectTV to Comcast to get a bundle and save money, things are tight right now. I figured the TNF game would be telecast locally. Now I cannot find it listed anywhere except for NFL Network. I cannot believe I will not be able to watch this game.
Never fear Pix! Several websites stream the games live, albeit not always the greatest video quality. I personally watch them on Firstrow.EU

I mean p2p4u.NET
I've tried both sites and both work well for all sports (I saw the Jones vs Rampage fight on there last night). Go Bears!

Obviously Parkey is done, but I thought playcalling was super suspect today. Howard was having success the few times he was called upon and Cohen was all but ignored. So bitter right now...
