The only reason the debate continued was because of the popcorn post.
I plead guilty to instigating the discussion to which I have not taken sides. I'm fairly certain it would have started another thread though so i figured I'd bump this one up so the old points wouldn't have to be stated again (guess old points are gonna be rehashed anyway).

I thought the popcorn post was meant to be saying, "I'm just going to grab some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show." In other words, taking the role of Sweden in the Wolfe debate, not getting involved but nonetheless enjoying the results of the fight.

The /popcorn was because I knew the debate was going to continue now and I was gonna have fun watching it, not because I have a strong opinion on the matter either way.

Glad we FINALLY found one that works. Hopefully their promise of streaming the regular season games holds true for you guys without Sunday Ticket.

Worked great for me in Phoenix and my brother in Delaware and my Dad in Tucson. Other than struggling through some of those Decatur commercials it was enjoyable. Thanks for the tip.

The score is irrelevant for this game. I actually think we saw a lot of promise in areas, such as QB.
Definately agree. Liked Forte and Orton has pleasantly surprised me today. The OL wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be either.

Yes, it will be aired on NFL Network several times the first showing being tomorrow midnight Eastern time and friday at 3:30 pm I believe. If you want to watch it live however, there is a site that will be streaming it live over the internet, I made a post about it and will bump it up for you and others that may have missed it.

I think everyone is looking into this too much. If the natural progression of alternating with the first string were to continue into the game Orton would be the starter. Couple that with the fact that Grossman won the coin toss to start training camp with the first team and I think thats where the decision was made.
This is not the case, the natural progression of alternating was switched up before family night by letting Kyle go with the starter twice in a row and it is happening again now. Rex had his great practice with the ones Sunday, Kyle Monday, Rex Tuesday, Kyle today AND tomorrow.
It may not be significant anyway, but there was not a coin flip for who will start this game so there is SOME reason to this rhyme. I think that reason is to keep Rex from playing his first game at home and getting boo'd without having played a game yet. That OR the staff thinks Kyle has a slight lead in the QB battle.

I like that. So far from what I have read I believe Kyle is doing a better job although neither one of them is standing out.
Really? I've been reading the opposite. Rex has been doing slightly better. It seems that way from the TC videos I've seen as well. In the end, I don't think it matters. The preseason games will carry more weight I think.

these are the instructions for the bears game on Thursday it will be broadcast live. They will broadcast all bears games. preseason and regular season.

Man I hate fumbled snaps!
All our QBs have had a few this preseason (Orton had another one yesterday from Beekman). My question is, are we overreacting to them happening in practice due in part to Rex's history? Is it possible every other team is seeing the same amount of fumbled snaps since guys are just shaking the rust off?
I hope this isn't gonna be an issue again during the season, regardless of who the QB is.

That union analogy is terrible. That isnt like this at all. Just because a trade guy isnt in a union doesnt mean they work for lower salaries and in unsafe working conditions. Also, in the video case, one side is doing it as a source of income and one guy is doing it as a hobby and to share it with other fans for free. Its not like non union workers go around doing work for free to help people and because of it unions are losing money.
The two things are alike in that both situations, the people who paid their dues (tradesmen pay union dues, journalist went to school) feel that their livlihoods are being threatened by people who don't have to play by the same rules. It's a valid point imo, but I can't blame Roy nor a non union guy who is doing what he needs to do to feed his family.

Truely pathetic that a bunch of "professional" journalists got schooled by a you-toub guy and cried to the Bears about it. They all should feel pretty darn pathetic both personally and professionally!
It sucks for us as fans but I understand the journalists' point of view. They have to play by rules that the NFL sets for them while Roy doesn't. Roy can show us video clips that are longer than 90 seconds. Since we are getting our dose of football from Roy's videos, we would be less inclined to buy the subscriptions to the journalists' training camp insider articles. If enough people aren't paying for their articles, they can lose their source of income.
It's kind of like electrical linemen in a union and those who are non union. The union guys fight for higher salaries and safer working conditions with their local utility. Non union workers undermine everything that has been fought for by working cheaper and under unsafer conditons. The non union guys are a threat to the union guys' jobs but a lot of times are working for a contractor because it's the best paying job they themselves can get. Can you fault the non union guy for doing what he needs to do to feed his family? No. But at the same time, the union workers are understandably pissed.

Well it was fun while it lasted but all the Youtube training camp videos "Roy" had posted havebeen taken down. Apparently some journalists were complaining that he wasn't following the audio and video rules that they themselves have to follow and it resulted in his plug being pulled.

All those Power Rankings we see, where the Bears are 26th in the league are bogus in my opinion. I have always thought that. If not for injuries last year, the Bears would have won a few more games, and would have been in the running for a wild card spot. And that's WITH NO OFFENSE. This year, the Bears have improved in many ways, not the least of which is concerning health.
With all that said, I think I trust Vegas a bit more than I trust the talking head idiots at the major sports websites and papers.
Vegas doesn't make money year after year by being bad or stupid doing this sort of thing. You can find similar rankings at all the Vegas sites, but I just thought it was interesting that the word in Vegas is that the Bears are one of the better teams in the NFC.
I don't think that's how Vegas does it. It's not just a straight ranking from best team to worst team. I read somewhere that they factor in a myriad of things like which odds will get the most bets for each team.

Miami has Pennington now, he will likely start this season. Chad Henne was drafted this year and is their developmental QB. They can choose Josh Mckown or John Beck as their 3rd QB (not necessarily 3rd string) so they will NOT be picking up Hanie.
