  1. I'm heading to the Jacksonville game. got a buddy there who can get Tix AND he can get us on the TPC course there for a good price...I wonder how many balls I will lose on that island green??
  2. Where are the Bears on the waiver wire?
  3. I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue I have in my area...When the Bears play at 3:15 they ALWAYS cut to the Bears late...a couple weeks ago when the Saints/Falcons were all tied up...I missed almost 1/2 the 1st quarter. Sunday, the first game finished in plenty of time but then they went to BONUS coverage of some other crappy game and again, I missed part of the 1st quarter. I have never had to buy the NFL package as I really could give 2 sh*ts about any other football team....there is but one team for me anyway, does anyone else have to deal with this? I live about 2.5 hours West of Chicago in Illinois. Drives me crazy!
  4. We must also remember...he is not done yet!!! who knows where he is going to end up...he changes games period. He will belong in when it is said and done.
  5. I read this on cnnsi and thought it interesting: I'm wondering why, on goal-line plays, coaches don't occasionally defend big receivers like Johnson with a big receiver from their own team? Doesn't somebody like Dez Bryant have a better chance of beating Johnson on a "jump ball" pass?'' Roy Williams cant do jack on O....maybe they could use him on D. Because the Lions will have goal line attempts Monday night for sure.
  6. Last night on MNF they showed a stat on teams with the highest winning % since 2005. The Giants and the Bears were basically tied at the top of that list!! the Bears had one more loss than the Giants but the same amount of wins. What the Bears did not have is a damn Super bowl win! take that for what it is worth I guess but Lovie and this crew have been getting the Bears winning seasons.
  7. They certainly do not seem to be playing the field % game anymore...if they are, I can't tell.

    Mock Drafts

I think we also have to remember that this is a brand new offensive system they had to learn this year...YES THEY NEED OLINE HELP!!! bigtime...but drafting a guy next year does not mean he is going to come right in and be a starter...And what about Olin kruetz....Heart of a lion....has been outstanding....does he come back?

  12. "The negotiations for a new labor agreement couldn't be going any worse. If the past few days, I've spoken to sources on both sides of the labor talks, and I've come to the conclusion that it'll be an upset if there isn't a work stoppage that either delays or cancels the 2011 season. Many of us in the media have speculated about the chances for a lockout and predicted one is coming, but the total lack of progress over the nut issue in 11 bargaining sessions tells me unless there's a sea-change by one side or the other, you'd better savor the 2010 season because it could be the last football we see for a while. At the core of the problem is ownership's demand for players to bear an equal part of the cost for stadium construction, debt service and upkeep -- and the players saying it's not their problem. In NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith's recent e-mail to player representatives, he startled player leaders by saying ownership wanted to cut player compensation by 18 percent per year in the new CBA. I thought the 18 percent number might be an exaggeration, a scare tactic to get players' attention. It's not. The owners, one management source said, have asked that the players' pool of revenue against which the salary cap is calculated be reduced by 18 percent. The players' response, a union source told me, is that they're not prepared to take a penny, or a percentage point, less. While Smith, in his letter to players, didn't dismiss the possibility of negotiating on the issue, he wrote that there has been no compelling information presented to players to justify such a major reduction in what players make. You wonder what 18 percent means. So did I. The management source said the owners want $1 billion a year credited to ownership and not subject to being part of the pie that the players divide. "There's obviously been an enormous shift from public financing of stadiums to private funding,'' the management source said. "Those costs are not recognized in the current CBA, and we feel that has to change.'' The league has beat this drum for several years. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some give-and-take in the owners' demands, because this is collective bargaining, but I would be surprised if the owners drop this as a demand altogether. They're just too dug-in on it. But from the players' perspective, it's got to be a tough sell to union leaders. Imagine Smith going into a union meeting at a team and telling the players that the average compensation to the men in this room is about $1.8 million this year in salary and bonus payments, and explaining to them in a time of bountiful success for the NFL, each of the players is going to have to take, on average, a $324,000 pay cut. The players will never go for that, absent the owners being able to prove they're losing money in a time of unparalleled wealth in the league. At some point, serious talks will start, with each side compromising. But I can't see the two sides bridging this chasm anytime soon. 13. That is sad sad news...Thoughts and prayers to his family....I had a lot of hope that Gaines was going to really help our D-Line...that really doesn't mean anything after you hear this news.....wow...26....
  14. I think having Harris out AND having Url out at the same time is huge. Teams are gouging the middle of the bears D. Plus, QB's can just step right up to where Tommy should be. At the very least he would collapse the middle of the pocket, when the ends are rushing around the outside, they can get to the QB...Yesterday (and in the Cinncy game) the QB just steps right up and fires away!!!...The Lovie defense DEPENDS on that position.
  15. Everybody is dinged up back there...EVERYONE is dinged up. Is it they are having to make plays the front seven should be handling? Or are they on the field too long? good golly they are all hurt back there.
