As fast and elusive as Fields is supposed to be he sure seems to get run down in the backfield a lot. Just took another sack that takes us out of FG range. 4th and forever.

pull to within 3 and then let them walk right down and score... Friggin Rodgers makes our D look silly on a TD. So tired of getting pushed around by the cheese heads.
Doesn't help that the Packers as usual get every break and then some from the refs

On paper this is a winnable game, and there's reason to be optimistic to that end, but GB has owned us regardless of the records and how our seasons have gone to that point. Of course I would love nothing better than to beat the cheese heads, but if we don't I would prefer it be a dogfight that they barely escape from rather then them just walking all over us. These games are so hard to predict. Rodgers does throw to Adams a lot and I can see 1 or 2 stupid easy TD's where Adams is wide open by 10-15 yards (could also insert Cobb for added salt in the wound). I hope I'm wrong though.

It's also possible he's lost a step, but his biggest assist has always been his ability to win jump balls and his catch radius as a big bodied WR. I don't think he's ever been considered a burner. He also may not be doing the little things with his footwork and moves to create space/separation. A WR with more dangerous speed can do that easier as DB's have to respect the straight line speed.

To be honest we've all said and done things in our past that we regret or wouldn't want aired in public. It's kind of ridiculous that something from someone's past (sometimes decades old stuff) is brought up to ruin their life now when they aren't the same person. People change, can't speak for Gruden specifically, but by all accounts he's remorseful about those things. I'm not a Gruden fan by any stretch. Never cared for him as a play by play guy, and he basically won a SB with Dungy's team and got the credit for it and he's kinda lived off that success since then. He's overrated as a coach. But I give him props for choosing to step down rather have the organization and his players dragged through the muck on his account. Like AZ said who out'd him and why now rather than 10 years ago. Someone had an axe to grind (who by the way probably has skeleton's in their closet as well). I feel people need to be allowed the opportunity to show they've change or grown up, or whatever. I feel like we need to be more forgiving of each other in society as a whole rather than cancel someone because they once did or said something that makes people butthurt. Just my two cents.

Agree, I thought it was a bad spot as well, but it’s one of those calls where whatever was called on the field would likely stand. If they spotted it short and LV challenged it they most likely lose that challenge.
in general I felt the game was mostly called fair. It was nice to finally see some flags thrown for late hits on Fields. Though the helmet to the ribs I thought should have been called targeting as the defender lead with the helmet.

Yeah 3 TE's, committing more blockers to help protect Fields. After that first TD drive where the helped out with dumb penalties it felt like the offense picked it up and looked better since then. It always makes me cringe when they show Nagy with a play sheet over his face. He just can't help himself but keep his hand in the cookie jar.
On a side note it sure seems like the Raiders play dirty.

For certain it was someone above him in the organization. Be it Pace, George, or perhaps Virginia got mad again. Bottom line is if it’s Fields and Lazor for the rest of the season there’s hope that we won’t ruin the kid.
I just hope Nagy’s ego doesn’t cause him to take the reigns back if things start looking better. His arrogance is a hindrance to the team. Till he gets over himself it will continue to hold him and this team back.

That is so Nagy to hand out the compliment but then refuse to answer any more questions about who's calling plays. His ego is taking a hit. He's been roasted in the past for his poor play calling, the flames went higher after last week's debacle. I'm sure he was pressured to hand over play calling since his ego makes him think he's smarter than everyone else. The proof is in the pudding as it was night and day different with Lazor calling the plays. There was continuity, and a real sense of some kind of game plan. I like that Fields addressed the play calling this week vs last week but did it in a diplomatic honest way. When Nagy's calling plays it really looks like he's just making it up as he goes like a student guessing at multiple choice questions on a test they didn't study for. He has a handful of plays he likes and that seems to be the pool he picks from. This is always a potential issue when a HC decides to handle either offensive or defensive play calls, their focus needs to be on the overall team, and often one or the other or even both suffer. Here's hoping two things happen going forward Fields continues to start, and Lazor calls plays. There will be bumps and he'll make mistakes from time to time but as long as Lazor is making the calls I feel like that creates a better situation for Fields to grow. Nagy calling the plays is the best way to stunt his growth. I still want Nagy and Pace gone after the season, but I wouldn't be opposed to the next coach retaining Lazor if the chemistry between him and Fields is solid.
As far as GM, our biggest needs going into next offseason is OL and secondary. We have got to shore up the talent on the back end of the defense, the front end is doing its part. And we need to stop mortgaging future draft capitol on the present out of desperation. For once it would be nice to walk into draft day with our full compliment of picks or even being on the plus side. We keep borrowing from the future so the limited amount of picks we have each draft drastically lowers the margin of error and makes the misses that much more catastrophic. We've had both extremes in GM's who always traded down, and Pace who always wants to trade up, the best place to be is somewhere in the middle. That said outside of the Jenkins pick (which many including myself liked at the time), was probably Pace's best draft to date. Getting Fields at 11 was a steal (thank you SF & NYG). It did involve luck but he made the right move and got the deal done.

Question is, are the best players for the positions even on the roster. Our secondary is Easily the weakest part of our defensive roster.

then the D gives up an easy TD to start the 4th, down 14. Our offense to this point has only 59 yards of offense. That was probably the back breaker there. Unless something crazy happens it's probably game over.

not a lot, doesn't seem to be anyone creating much separation. The sacks have been a combination of poor OL play and no one to throw to.

Your star WR needs to make those catches. Usually Robinson does make them but that would have definitely changed the game when that drop happened. That ball couldn't have been placed better. Moony also let one go through his hands. Maybe our WR's aren't used to having the ball hit them in the hands? Fields did look like a rookie out there but he also didn't get a lot of help. I give him credit for the effort to to make sure the fumble didn't become a scoop and score. It was a blind side hit but he was also holding the ball a little loose there. His scramble late did seal the game, so it was a mixed bag of good and bad as you'd expect from a rookie. With Dalton's knee they better get Fields 1st team reps in practice this week ahead of week 3 (should have from the get go).
On D we saw the best of the D and the worst of the D. We go from a fumble recovery, back to back to back INT's (one a pick 6) then late in the game we looked like the keynote cops again. One DB tackling the other DB to allow a walk in TD.

This is getting ugly quick. Why do we keep going for it on 4th down only give the Rams great field position are we trying to get blown out in the first quarter? If that's the game plan it's working...
