  1. Just saw on NFL network that the Chargers released OT Shane Olivea. He isn't that old and OT is a huge need, what are your guys thoughts on this, I for one would shell the dough to get a proven vet on this line like shane. Chargers OL has been pretty darn good the last few years.

I also just read an article that said we are aggressively shopping Greise, and if we can't trade him before his roster bonus of 300,000 tuesday he will be released. Just figured I'd post it if some of you haven't seen it yet. Qb sometime in the draft for us.

  3. Thats pretty much what I said idea wise without the shitting all over Rex. I said there should be an open competition for QB and they should draft one too. However, I dont think it should be in the first two rounds. You can hate Rex all you want but you seem to forget he has had more success at QB than any Bears QB since Kramer. Since weve had him as the QB has been one of the longest stretches of the Bears winning since the early 90s. He wasnt gonna put up Peyton Manning numbers but we were winning and thats all that should matter.

He may be short, inconsistent and whatever else but as of right now, the Bears are a better team with him on the roster and that cant be denied. If you had it your way the Bears would have a new QB every year and until they fix the other offensive issues they will all struggle to have the success the Bears have had the past few years.

Also, you didnt address my point about his second stint last season. I think even non Rex supporters have to admit he seemed much better since the Oakland game. He was eliminating mistakes, making smart throws and checking down. All this with AP at RB, WRs that were more inconsistent than he was and literally a revolving door on the line. He had no time to throw and still wasnt turning it over much. Not to mention, not one WR on the roster would ever try to knock down a ball that could be intercepted.

Look at Brady and Moss. How many times did Brady just launch it up in the air and Moss would either go get it or knock it down if he couldnt. Thats a huge security blanket for QBs. If Rex did that it gets picked off because the receivers give up on routes, drop passes and never make plays. Last year, the job of being QB for the Bears might have been one of the toughest situations to be in for the whole league. If Grossman ever lands on a team with more talent around him he can have a lot of success. Just claiming he sucks and listing stereotypes about him is pointless. All those flaws you list in him are greatly effected by the players around him. IE, He may not step into sacks if he didnt have a tackle in his face immediately. He might not be so inconsistent if he had a legitimate number one receiver or even a running game.

The offensive problems arent his fault. No quarterback would have performed with that offensive unit.

Dude brady at least chucks it up there where moss can knock it down. Rex chucks it 15 yds over the wr's head in into the arms of the fs!

  4. Hmm, maybe Thayer should realize that Orton isn't a #1 QB.

Dude if orton isn't a real starting qb what's rex? I believe orton had a better td to int ratio than rex. Hell I think even greise had a better td to int ratio. But hey keep drinking that kool-aide :drink Rex is a bum, no he's like the coaches son. Everyone knows he sucks, but he still starts because of that reason. But hey at least I'll get enjoyment from watching sportscenter breaking down his stats in the good rex and horrible rex categories. Horrible rex is putting up some impressive numbers!

  5. It's only one year, so it is a pretty good deal for the Bears.

Rex has one last shot, and either he lives up to his potential, or moves on after this year.

Rex Grossman resigning and great deal shouldn't even be used in the same sentence. We have all but been assured by the coaching staff that they are Okay with offensive ineptness and horrible qb pay that makes us the punchline of all media sources. Here's to another year of being ranked 25-32 in the league offensively. I'm sickened by this organization's stupidity. Rex isn't even good enough to hold the second string's jock. Greise ave 100 yrds more in the air than grossman behind our line, and this is greise we're talking about. When will we get REAL MANAGEMENT AND COACHES? :chair

  6. Cut arch, adams, moose, and griese. Let grossman, aybendajo, and I hate to say it briggs walk. Promote Orton to 2nd on depth chart. Promote bradley to moose's position. Cut the blitzing down a bit, seems like we were getting burned to damn much, and we're better when the lb's can fill running lanes and are not out of position.

Resign berrian, with mcnabb under center he may be persuaded more easily.

Trade 2nd and A.Brown to philly for Mcnabb

    Sign starks and m. turner

Draft Ol with first rd pick

Draft S with third rd pick

Draft WR with third rd pick

    UNGLUE PAGES 2-ECT... of R. turner's playbook

  7. What kind of RB do we go for I say we make a very very hard push for M. Turner. He can be a n/s runner, yet he shows that he can turn on the burners and get out of dodge when things get heated, which for some reason cb doesn't seem to show. A little bit of a speedster with a pounder all in one is just what this offense needed. Why waist another pick on some guy we don't know will pan out? It may be unfair, but I just don't see the "IT" factor in cb. He goes down too easy and doesn't try hard enough for the extra yard. Spend a pick on turner if you have to and sign some o-line help via FA, and we're in the post-season next year no matter who is throwing it. Although in a perfect world we'd trade a 3rd for mcnabb and a 2nd or 1st for turner and get oline help. But that's nothing but a wet dream. Mcnabb, turner, and a good o-line combined with a resigned briggs and berrian. Please santa, everything I got for christmas sucked this year REDEEM YOURSELF! or I'm picketing
