    Bulger cut...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5057937 Could be the veteran QB the Bears need. He's got plenty of experience and proven performance with Martz's system.
  2. He's in the last year of his rookie contract. Entered NFL as a third-round selection (73rd overall) by Chicago in the 2006 NFL Draft... Signed 4-year contract with Bears (7/6/06). SIGNED through 2009
  3. This guy can't catch a break. Fourth time in four years he's had a season ending injury. Tore his right ACL this time. Poor kid. Dvoracek suffers forth straight seaon-ending injury
  4. Looks like Louisana with area codes on the top and bottom?
  5. Here's some pics from the 3 pm practice on Thursday 8-13-09. Greg Olsen didn't practice today. The rookie CB DJ Moore had 2 picks and Vasher had another off of a tipped ball that the WR should've caught (didn't catch the WR's #). Some of the national media were there - Peter King of CNNSI, Charley Casserly of the NFL Network, and Hub Arkush of Pro Football Weekly. Pisa Tinoisamoa being interviewed after practice: Charley Casserly & Jay Cutler: Alex Brown signing autographs - he's been one of the friendliest of the players. Chatted w/fans both before and after practice, signed tons of autographs. Other big autograph signers over the 2 practices I've been too were Matt Forte and Tommie Harris. Lovie even signed a few autographs today. Peter King & Hester: Charlie Casserly: Lovie Smith: Forte:
  6. Alex signed an extention...last year I think? Ogun and Anderson are in their contract years.
  7. Cutler overthrew Hester deep too.
  8. First play in the 11 on 11 scrimmage...guess what happened. Fumbled snap. G Alex Brown signing after practice: Tommie Harris in on the autographs too: Greg Olsen: Tommie Harris & Matt Forte Marinelli, Ogunleye, and Dvoracek (who amazingly didn't get hurt) 11 on 11 Forte is tackled by Briggs: Peanut gets a fresh ice pack strapped to his back: I think we need to sign a new tight end! Links to Videos: Cutler to Olsen on the sideline Cutler to Olsen deep Cutler goes deep Kevin Jones long run Kevin Jones woulda been stuffed Great catch by Wolfe Rocket Man
  9. The Bears tend to prefer contracts that payout the same amount (or close to it) year after year through the life of the contract. At least that's what Cliff Stein (Bears contract negotiator/cap guy) has said at the Bears fan conventions the past few years. Guess we'll see soon enough. My guess would be a decent signing bonus and a incentive heavy contract based off of receiving stats. Get X bonus (or salary increase) if you get 1000+ yards, make the Pro Bowl as a WR, get Y # of receiving TD's, Z # of receptions, that sort of thing. Perhaps even an 'opt out' clause that'd allow him to void some years of the contract if he achieves certain objectives. But either way, glad to see they got it done!
