Briggs chimes in on Thomas Jones trade...
Bears4Ever_34 replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Again, I can't really talk about that draft. I was one of the people who wanted Mike Williams! haha so yeah... -
Well the way I see most teams beating the Colts are they zone blitz ALOT, to put pressure on Manning and you have to disguise them well because lord knows how keen Peyton is on picking apart the blitz if he knows it's coming.

That's alright, I thought TJ was overrated by people, but its obvious that his former teammates would rather have him here than Cedric Benson. -
I think we will get destroyed, especially knowing Manning will be starting (who doubted it really?). I think our offense will do alright towards the end and put up some points but in the end our defense will let us down and Indy will score in the high 20's or low 30's and put the game away.

So when he doesn't "Show up" in the regular season you better come with a better excuse than that. And if he has a good season then I'll give the Bears credit for getting him but until then I think he's just a waste of space.

When's the last time Tommie Harris was 100 % healthy? 2005?
-
For real? Is this a serious question? Well the short answer is NO. Walter would still have the all time rushing record if Emmit Smith didn't play with the greatest offensive line in NFL history for so long and he didn't play for so damn long (Just to break the record, unlike Barry Sanders who many think quit because he didn't want to break the record.) I don't know what to predict with Matt Forte, never seen him run in a real game yet. But I'd be happy with a long, healthy productive career with the Bears, for whatever that is, idk..
-
We should go get Willie Anderson instead..
-
Thank god.. I didn't have to kill myself after all...
-
What a waste of two draft picks.... But I'm not surprised they were cut.
-
Looks like Rashied Davis might get the #1 spot, followed by Hester and either Lloyd or Booker, maybe Bradley.
-
Alright, apologies on my comment. I was in deep anger and still am as you can see.. It just pains me to see a player who performed so well get left off the team especially at a position where the is no real threat (besides Hester)..
-
Your right. Which is why he was still in there with the 2nd and 3rd team offense in the last preseason game.
-
I agree with every word you said
-
If you disagree then you are wrong. You can't dispute the fact Rideau outplayed Marty Booker the entire preseason. What we just did is wrong and stupid because your letting go of someone who led your team in scoring throughout the preseason to keep a guy who likely isn't going to do anything the entire regular season.
-
How many different ways can I say no? We now have 3 quarterbacks on our team since we kept Haine. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, and he isn't any good!
-
This is what they are saying "Well I'm sorry Brandon, even though you totally outplayed every single wide receiver on our current roster and had a helluva preseason, were going to cut you so Marty Booker and his sorry ass self who's done jack shit since joining the team can have a spot." This is absolute bullshit and it pisses me off. Were rewarding a player for doing shit and releasing a player for good performance.. Rideau WILL be on a team by tomorrow if not by tonight and he's going to be a really good WR in this league. MARK MY freakin WORDS!

freak the Bears
-
I still say without an emergence from one or two unknowns this year, were going 4-12, 5-11. But that won't stop me from watching haha.
-
If Brandon Rideau doesn't make the team its a damn shame. He has completely outplayed Booker, and Hass throughout the preseason. Marty Booker has done jack this preseason, he needs to be cut. For real though, Rideau BETTER make the freakin team. All he's done so far is score touchdowns, what else do you want? I could give a rat's ass how inexperienced he is.. He's been producing consitantly the entire preseason, put him on the team!
-
Booker and Lloyd would be gone before Bradley. The only way Mark Bradley is gone before the other two would be because he got injured before the year started. Like I said before, Booker is a waste of space so lets just cut him and be done with him.
-
Brandon Rideau better make the team. He's had an excellent preseason and has shown me enough to earn a spot on this already "Up in the air" Wide receiver situation. I think Davis just earned himself a starting spot opening day with his performance Thursday so he's one.. You got Earl Bennett and Marcus Monk who have done nothing to my knowledge this preseason, they will not be starting.. Marty Booker has done nothing and IMO is a waste of space, I wish we could just cut him, I don't think he should be starting.. I have to believe that Devin Hester will be starting or that contract we just gave him would be ridiculous for just a kick return man. He's expected to do big things at the WR position. Now its Rashied and Devin, one more.. Were left with Brandon Rideau, Brandon Lloyd, Mike Hass, and Mark Bradley. Though I love Rideau's potential I'd be surprised if Lovie started him. I think it would be awesome if he did but I just can't see it.. I don't really care about Mike Hass, he does nothing for me.. Cut him.. So that leaves us with Lloyd and Bradley. Well depending on whether or not Bradley can stay healthy, he is a more talented receiver than Brandon Lloyd but both are dangerous with the deep ball. So if he's healthy at the start of the season I'll go with Bradley to round out the starting WR's.. So now we have our three. #1 Mark Bradley- This probably isn't the ideal spot for him, being a number 1 but he has the best chance at excelling at this position because of his size, speed, and athleticism. #2 Rashied Davis- Really good slot receiver; I like him here #3 Devin Hester- He will grow as time goes on and eventually he'll become our #1 or #2 later on.. From there I hope Rideau and Lloyd get some looks in the game when we have our 4 wr sets or just when were subbing.
-
HE PLAYED? Haha well good.. I didn't get to see the game unfortunately I heard Orton played really well and Kevin Jones had a nice run.
-
Jerry really needs to stop picking guys coming off injury problems in college. See Mark Bradley, Dusty Davorewhatever (is he alive? I dont even know.) Airease Curie, and now this guy..

Aren't we the oldest offensive line in football?
