The Bears weren’t content to just pick their roster Saturday, they decided to extend one of their own key parts well into the future.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Bears have agreed to a four-year contract extension with guard Kyle Long.

The deal is worth a reported $40 million, with $30 million guaranteed.

Long was already under contract through the 2017 season, but the Bears wanted to be proactive with one of their best players, now back in his normal position.

They signed free agent tackle Bobby Massie in free agency, allowing Long to shift back inside to where he’s best.

Love that deal. Less per year than I expected but a huge guarantee. He's one player you just don't worry about with the guaranteed money.
