Drops may be costly for Orton

As for the TD escalator, I can think of at least 3 dropped TD passes (Hester against Philly, Booker against Minny, and Clark against NO). Further Clark fumbled on the 1 yd line against Minny and it was recovered in the endzone by Davis.

All stats for QB's will have these ebs and flows. I would argue that Orton has missed or failed to see 3X that amount. Overall, I think his play has earned him some sort of extension this year or next, as he has proven he can play in this league. It depends on if he still has upside or the staff feels he is tapped will be the determining factor as to whether he is a starter or backup for the remainder of his career.
