September 1, 200916 yr comment_67857 The Denver Post reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (finger) is in danger of missing the team's Week 1 game. According to two league sources, Orton's finger was not fractured during the team's last preseason game, but Orton did suffer an open dislocation of the right knuckle, which would explain the blood dripping from his finger and the excruciating pain he endured as the dislocated finger was popped back into place. September 1, 200916 yr comment_67915 Per PFT: Orton suffered on Sunday night an "open dislocation" of his finger, which is delicate medical talk for a bone twisting so severely that it ripped through the flesh and the skin surrounding it. What? Ripping through flesh? His hand hitting Ogun's didn't seem that bad. Wow. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...y-for-week-one/ Report

September 2, 200916 yr comment_67940 Ouch, I couldn't imagine that being as bad as that. The problem for him is that this is not good for his throwing hand. I know from experience that bad finger sprains don't go away quickly and affect my basketball shooting for several weeks. He must need a few weeks to get back to normal but even then it's likely going to affect his passes. It's a good thing he's a dink and dunk passer in a dink and dunk offense. Report
September 2, 200916 yr comment_67947 I thought it had to have been a compound fracture because there wasn't anything to rip the flesh on Wale's gloves. That sucks to have a dislocated bone rupture your skin like that. No wonder he looked a little squeamish... Report
