Urlacher out for Season..

Featured Replies

I can't believe we went from a height of amazing optimism with Cutler and whatnot to THIS state after only 1 game. Unreal.

But as someone else said, how is a dislocated wrist a definite season ender?

There are some dislocations that are actually worse than breaks. A bunch of time in a cast, then a few weeks recovery.

Exactly right.

You can have a "simple fracture" and have no damage to tendons, muscles, cartilage, etc...

In some dislocations there is a lot of damage done.

The fact he had surgery Monday morning after playing Sunday Night tells me it must have been serious. Usually they do not operate that quick.

Also, a cast can help a fracture so the limb doesn't bend, but in a dislocation, it is at the joint, so normally you can't put pressure on it. So he literally would not be able to push off anything with that arm or his ulna or radius might pop out of his skin.

In PE class when I was 17, during soccer, my pinky toe was kicked in, and the diagnosis was dislocated. I can't even imagine what a dislocated wrist feels like.

Get well soon, Brian. Bear Nation loves you.
