April 2, 201016 yr comment_79633 I wouldnt mind signing Hamlin at all. Ive always been a fan of his, he hasnt been the same in a couple years but hes still better than what we got. As far as Adams, I would have to take a pass. We had our little experiment with the old offensive linemen of the past with Pace and I just feel like we need to find solid young talent instead. Report

Agreed 100%. Flozell Adams turns 35 in May. Ken Hamlin is 29 and plays free safety. Although he had a bad year last year I'm thinking he'd be an upgrade over Craig Steltz. Report
April 4, 201016 yr comment_79649 Flozell sucks. He gets roasted by fans and media here in Dallas. Good sign how bad his game has gone downhill, he gets a bunch of flags thrown for holding, false starts and such. When players rack up the flags, often a sign they are having to "cheat" because they can't get the job done by talent. Agreed 100%. Flozell Adams turns 35 in May. Should the Bears make a run at him? I'm thinking the Bears will use their Alex Brown money to shore up either the safety position or the o-line posiition. Would you rather have Hamlin or Sims? Report

April 5, 201016 yr comment_79669 I expect him to be signed for us any day now then... IMHO i think that we are stacking money with the relseae of brown and Vasher and plaaying the waiting game to make offers to Atowge from the Rams and maybe Simms from Seattle Report

He's clearly not a ballhawk at FS, but I wonder if he might be an upgrade over what we've got at SS. Report
April 5, 201016 yr comment_79686 Regarding Hamlin. The key thing I would say is, he is very Bear-like. He looked great at one point, then got paid by Dallas in a resigning, and then sucked. He was pretty bad. Dallas actually had pretty good CB play, and even was able to get some pressure from their front, but even w/ this Hamlin was a liability. His coverage was lacking and his tackling was simply weak. It was often joked about how poorly he would tackle. Hamlin has skills, but for some reason, his play the last two years in Dallas was just bad. He was stellar prior to that though. I don't know if a change in D was the cause for his decline, or if he quit after getting paid, but he was pretty bad in Dallas. Would he be an upgrade? Well, yes. When you look at how bad our FS options are, yes he would be an upgrade. If we could sign him for an inexpensive, short term deal, I would say he would be worth the risk, but I would not expect too much. We all agree Flozell is old and bad. April 12, 201016 yr comment_79793 I read somewhere that Hamlin had struggled due to playing through woth some nagging iunjuries. Are you able to shed any light on this? Report
April 12, 201016 yr comment_79809 I believe there have been some injuries, but that alone has not been the problem as he has played poorly for a few years now. Basically, he had a great season w/ Dallas, got paid, and his game immediately tanked. I am always willing to take a flyer on a guy who had played well, suffered a bad season, but could bounce back. But in Hamlin, you have a guy who really struggled for a few years. Further, his struggles were simply too similar to the problems we currently have, like tracking the ball, play recognition, preventing the big play and tackling. It is possible Hamlin comes back strong, but frankly, there are few signs to expect such. To me, we should focus on a more legit upgrade rather than waste time and money on a player so unlikely to offer much of anything. Rather have a young guy who is makes mistakes but plays hard and gets better each week. Report
