starters? Should they start or give it up to the 2nd stringers for this first game?

I hope the appearance of a game thread will work up a wee bit of excitement.

Even if this is just preseason, I am happy to have the Beloved Bear take the field again.

And to you Lith, Play them quick to keep from injuries but long enough to see wat we're working with.

I only want the defensive starters to play 1 or 2 series. And I want to see the 1st team offense stay in for a good sustained drive, even if they don't score but no more than 3 series.

I'm looking at the oline specifically though to see the continuity.

Usually the 1st preseason game is a short session for the starters; maybe 2 or 3 series. The 2nd game they might play the entire first quarter, into the 2nd, and the 3rd preseason game is usually the "Dress Rehearsal" where we would actually game plan for the team we are facing and keep the starters in until the middle/end of the 3rd quarter. The 4th game is almost always the worst one because most of the starters don't play and it's essentially a game for all the 2nd and 3rd stringers to make the team.

that's the key right there!

I'd like to see the OL get some more time...but not at the risk of injury.

As long as everyone gets out healthy, fine.

Some guys I'm really interested in watching, Obviously Roy Williams, Vernon Gholston, Okoye, Melton, J.T Thomas, and Carimi.

Thomas isn't dressed.

I'm looking forward to see Carimi, Williams, Conte, and Bowman.

Well the line looks bad so far.

Cutler's done for the night. In 3 pass attempts, Cutler was chased out of the pocket twice and sacked once. Nothing's changed.

Yep. This line is still trash. 3 sacks already for Shawne Merriman.

Yup, looks like the seven step drop will kill somebody this year.

Depressing. :shakehead

Okoye looks like a good pickup.

Yep. Even Gholston is getting into the mix. Before tonight, the way the media talked, there was no way in hell Gholston made the team.
