He's a good player. Makes a lot of sense at the right price. Definitely not a guaranteed starter though.

Have the Bears cut Meriweather yet? Or was he just a 1yr deal? I don't remember.

He's going to get suspended for Steroids before the start of the year or at some point during the season.

Conte was pretty solid. Wright has his moments but overall he has a lot of work to do. I'll believe it when I see it, but I find it hard to fathom that Lovie will just kick Wright to the curb with a Landry signing. It seems un-Lovielike to take a former 3rd rounder and stick him on ST.

The safety position is close to becoming as jinxed as the QB position. Granted, we have about 50 years yet to go before it gets that bad, but it's bad.

 

Conte seemed invisible this season. He didn't give up any big plays but he didn't many. He was one helluva an upgrade over Meriweather.

 

We've invested too deeply in this position already to invest heavily. Resign Craig Steltz, sign a guy . . . this just made me realize I need to start a separate "Sign Atogwe" post. The "sign Atogwe" is a tradition around these parts.
