Chicago could have hosted a SB?

Featured Replies

I doubt Chicago would be a Superbowl city. We might have had one there but the reality is there are lots of other events in the week before the Superbowl and reasonable chances of good weather helps. Even if events are not outdoors, as many are, people have to travel all over the city (sometimes across the state) to get to these events. The Vikings will build another domed stadium but I can't see them hosting a Superbowl.

They will never host a Super bowl until they put a roof over their building and up the seating capacity by a great deal. It's a shame that we have the smallest stadium in the league.

I would think mass transit advantages would be one of the reasons the Bears WOULD host a Super Bowl. The L is awesome, the Metra has a wide reach from Wisconsin to Dekalb County to almost Gary, Indiana, and the bus schedules in Chicago are very convenient.

Weather? Not so much.
