    Some names to watch for

    Elijah Moore WR

    Mondale Moore WR

    Terrance Marshall WR

    Trevon Moehrig S

    Christian Barmore DT

If they take Rondale Moore I'll scream. Cohen is the same guy.

  2. My opinion is that in order to get a 1st round QB, the Bears would have to trade their 2022 1st. I also think that because of Wilson's age, his price will be similar to the Cutler deal. Give me the sure thing in Wilson vs. the unknown in Mac Jones or Trey Lance.

In any event, I won't believe Wilson or Watson gets traded until it happens.

I dont mind us trading future #1s to get a franchise QB in the draft, but I definitely wonder if I want these guys to be the ones to make that decision, especially when they are likely to be gone.

This is a conflict of interest that McCaskey should have avoided by firing them. The only thing that makes sense is to tell these guys they cant trade future picks, and do whatever they think they have to to save their jobs, but no future picks and no long term deals with big guaranteed money on free agents. If thats the case, then it's McCaskey saying "It's your mess, you live with it for a year and then youre gone" and that makes more sense, but still wastes a year.

He really should have fired them. He needs to be fired.

Mitch has failed, there's really no reason for Pace and Nagy to have jobs.

Except that in our current situation it's not as simple as just choosing to pursue Watson vs Wentz.  Watson would require more than we can realistically offer, where as Wentz is more within reach.  The two options are miles apart in cost. On draft day 2017 yes it would have been simple to sit at #3 and take Watson, and we possibly aren't having this conversation.  At the end of the the mistake of giving up way too much to move up one spot to take Mitch when he'd have likely still been there at 3, and now here in 2021 we're looking at a trade to try and correct that mistake.

This is true. The most I could handle the Bears doing is if they traded their 1st+Foles and Miller for Wentz, Ertz and the Eagles 2nd. I'd try to get a 4th from Philly as well, so that the Bears have 2 2nds and a pick in every round after that.

Let's not sit here and pretend that had the Bears taken Watson or Mahomes that either would be any good. We saw what Mahomes looked like on SB Sunday with a shite OL.

It is why my preference is sign Winston as a flyer and draft a QB.  If Winston is great - fine, you found a QB. If he isn't - by mid year you turn the keys to the new QB.  If he isn't good - new regime takes another shot next year.

I was hearing rumors that Winston is staying in NO.

  6. So let's assume Robinson has to walk, or gets franchised and traded.

Who would you pick up for a replacement?

Ideally I'd like Golladay but he'd cost about as much as Robinson.

    Another idea is Sammy Watkins.

  7. The Bears had their chance to get Deshaun Watson, and they messed it up.

Time to move on. Coming off of 2 years without a 1st round pick due to the Mack trade, the Bears really can't afford a Watson trade as well. They'd end up right where Houston is now.

  8. I think that if the Bears wanted to get Watson, the best way for them to build an attractive trade package is to trade their 1st round pick, along with Jaylon Johnson and Roquan Smith. Johnson and Smith are young enough to be rebuild pieces for the Texans, and they've proven themselves at the NFL level.

Totally against my opinion but the clan is coming back with no Pagano. I do understand why they made that decision but wish they were more honest about. Mediocrity is not acceptable to any sports team especially this one. They lost money or at least profit in the covid year of football and likely with continue in 2021. Paying salaries for everyone and then again for bringing new people is not a sound financial decision. They try to look at the good points, and lie to themselves about the bad points. One winning and two 8-8 seasons is better than the recent past. The problem is in those 8-8 seasons, there is not enough things to look for a better future but plenty to see a coming losing season. To much money was thrown at QB and still have no one to grow with so either a 1st pick or a run at a VET that may not be any good is our best options. Cap problems although I did read today, they may change the cap situation of dropping 20 mil and leave it the same. That would would give us AROB back on the franchise tag. The question can we afford to pay a #1 WR money when we have to rebuild the Oline and get a QB. It would seem to be a waste of capital going forward.

We have to many high paying contracts with players not playing up to their contacts, so we cant cut them or trade them. We have a few to cut to get cap space but the big one would be Hicks 10.5 in cap saving , but that would hurt big time.

I would want us in the draft to double down on OL in our first two picks but it AROB isnt coming back , I think they might go WR and QB in the first two rounds and ignore the OT position again. You may find a RT in the third but will be risky. Hard to figure out how they make this team better with the lack of money and more high draft picks.

You franchise and trade Robinson. That's just what they have to do.

He definitely has not been a willing tackler and I can't stand to see him line up 15 yards of the line.

That is not and has never been Jackson's game. His game has always been to play center field/coverage. If he's not getting INTs, he's not a different planet than his pay grade.

Meanwhile it is approaching 1:30pm CST and Pace still is employed........
