  1. My general thought is go with a guy who's HC'ed in the NFL before, but didn't win it all. No coach has ever done it twice. OUt of this list, my preference would be as follows: 1. Saban - Belichick's first stint wasn't that great either... 2. Kubiak - see above...and he's O minded. 3. Capers - cherry picks our rival and could make the D better with a switch to 3-4. Not like we are that great at 4-3 now 4. Rivera - get the right OC, and Ron might be the right guy. Angelo bounced him, not Emery. 5. Singletary, same hold true for Mike as ROn... 6. Gruden - I just like him over Shanahan 7. Shanahan 8. Nolan - not thrilled with him really in the least. THe name just popped up as recently ousted HC's
  2. Just to speculate... What about these potential candidates? (no particular order) 1. Ron Rivera (could get fired) 2. Mike Singletary (basically started the upward defensive trend there) 3. Dom Capers 4. Gary Kubiak 5. Mike Shanahan (who we've mentioned already) 6. Jon Gruden 7. Mike Nolan 8. Nick Saban
  3. Ha! I'm not sure how I really feel about him, but I love the irony!
  4. Yup. This team has done it. They've made me dislike a Chicago bears team for the first time in my life. Besides a couple players like Fuller, Long, and Jeffrey...there isn't many more I remotely like. I think this is what it feel like to be a Raiders fan...
  5. It's the worst I've ever seen it. A complete utter embarassment. When do the McCaskeys step in due to embarassment?
  6. Agreed. At least some kind of message would be sent...
  7. Somewhere, Ozzy is trying to remember the right lyrics for "Crazy Train" ..."Going off the rails in a crazy train!"
  8. Why would he want to leave that for us?
  9. It's like Ricky to Lucy...lots of 'splainin' to do...

  12. He did take that horrible Wash team to the playoffs during his tenure... To me, this is a slam dunk hire for McCaskey/Emery. It eases the fan base. It's allows for one more try for Cutler while drafting a young QB to groom. And you get a proven winner with passion.
  13. I honestly don't know enough of Sumlin to form an opinion. But, I'll now start watching...
  14. Yes, please. At least it's better than what is in place. I would prefer a younger, hungrier option...someone who hasn't made it tot he peak as a HC, maybe as a coordinator... But, I think given all the plusses, I'd be more than OK with Ratahan.
  15. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...-bears-defense/ Ditka sees no talent, no pride on Bears’ defense Posted by Michael David Smith on November 12, 2014, 12:57 PM EST Ditka Getty Images Mike Ditka, the man who coached perhaps the greatest defense in NFL history with the 1985 Bears, does not like the defense he sees in Chicago this year. Ditka told the Chicago Sun-Times that he thinks both the effort and the talent level are lacking on the Bears’ defense after the debacle in Green Bay on Sunday night. “The defense is not good,” Ditka said. “I don’t see a lot of leadership out of certain players. I think they have a problem. Marc [Trestman] knows that as well as anybody. You can blame anyone you want for what’s going on, and usually it’s the coach. But if you have any talent at all on the defensive side of the ball, you don’t put on an exhibition like you did in the first half against Green Bay. You don’t do that. Now, if you have no pride at all, then maybe that can happen. I don’t see a lot of leadership; I don’t see a lot of pride in what’s going on. I see a lot of guys going through the motions.” The 75-year-old Ditka has seen a lot in the NFL, but he’s never seen defense like the Bears are playing it right now. The Bears have given up more than 50 points in back-to-back games. They’re the first team to do that since the 1923 Rochester Jeffersons.
  16. Ha!!!!!!!! So right there with you!
  17. What a crock! There's the guy that responsible for this mess! So long Santurdio!
  18. That would be interesting if it played out...
  19. Sadly, you are right. By every report, she is a wonderful woman. I really don't want her to pass anything but control...
  20. The McCaskeys don't want to appear rash. They'd rather appear to be idiots.
  21. IT's their MO to wait it out to season's end. Although there may be a possibility of something drastic once we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Speaking of which...does anyone know what that magic number would be?
