  1. I will never understand our mentality w/ regard to covage. You say the DB should line up inside, but that is the exact opposite of what our players say they are supposed to do. Per Vasher (and I have heard others say this too) their primary job is to take away the outside and "push" the WR inside. The idea being that the LBs are their to help over the short middle and safety is there to help deeper middle. Problem is, the way we position and play our LBs takes them out of position. So even when the CB pushes the WR into the LBs section, as he is supposed to do, it still ugly as the LB is not in position after screwing around w/ that damned fake blitz. Further, I do not understand the idea of lining up so far off the LOS. I get you want to "keep everything in front of you", but if you line up that far, what good are you doing. A WR now has a very easy 5 yard completion, and because you lined up so far off, the WR has some space to try and make a move to gain more yards. Even if the CB makes a sure tackle, you are still essentially giving them a free 5 yard gain. And this only compounds the issues on the DL. Even our DL seemed to complain last year. I don't care how great your DL is. If you QB has quick open WRs, and uses them, your DL has no chance. Further still, what kills me is the lack of game planning for specific teams. We seem to do the exact same things against a team like GB as we did Minny. If you are playing a team that has a good, strong armed QB and solid downfield threats, I can at least then understand the idea of not wanting to get beat deep, and backing up off the LOS. But when you face a team w/o a very good QB, and w/o solid deep threat WRs, why the hell are we not playing closer to the LOS. Even if we are not very good at playing bump and run, are our CBs so bad that we fear the most mediocre WRs in the game? I remember playing Carolina last year, and giving Muhammad so much cushion you would think we were facing Steve Smith. Muhammad is slow, yet we fear playing him tight because he could beat us deep? Huh? Sorry for the rant, but this is a long term pet peeve of mine.
  2. Well, even when Tillman and Vasher were at the top of their game, they didn't exactly play tight to the LOS. Even then, they played well off the LOS. I know because this is something I have ranted about for years. So I don't think it is so much personnel as much as it is scheme/coaching. The only CB I have seen that moves up closer to the LOS is Graham. Maybe that is why he isn't being given an opportunity at CB this year, despite playing better than the others. Maybe the staff has the mentality that regardless of the results, he needs to play their way or not at all. What do you say we call this the "Rivera Rule". I remember in school (math) I would work a problem, and could get the answer, but would fail regardless because I didn't do the problem the way the teacher wanted. I would ask if I got the right answer, and would be told yes, but it didn't matter. You have to work the problem our way, or you fail. Never understood that.
  3. I disagree w/ the statement that there was no way Bowlen didn't know McDaniels wanted to deal Cutler/Cassel prior to hiring him. He hired McDaniels back in January, and at that time, it still didn't seem clear whether Brady was going to be 100% or not, and thus what NE was planning to do w/ Cassel. I agree 100% that plenty of blame can be placed on the owner. There is no way McDaniels would have even started trade talks w/o first talking to Bowlen, and thus Bowlen was 100% on board w/ the move. I simply disagree this was the plan when he hired McDaniels in the first place. It really doesn't matter though. At the end of the day, blew it. After Elway, Denver spent plenty of years looking for their next franchise QB, and finally they found one. Then they look to trade him for a QB who looked good for one season, surrounded by elite talent. IMHO, even if they did pull off the trade, they would still not be better off w/ Cassel than w/ Cutler. Imagine this. We are not a QB franchise, but many would say we are a RB franchise. Since Walter, we have no had a great franchise RB. Anderson was great, but not the tier I am talking about. Anway, lets say this year Forte puts up another huge season, but we don't end up w/ a great record, and fire Lovie. New coach comes in and decides Forte isn't his man, and wants to trade for some late round pick out of Denver who looked good for one year. How do you imagine that would go over w/ Bear fans?

Yea, I get that Terra often throws stuff out there to get others riled up, but as opposed to the "Rex Sucks" posts, I thought he did have some valid points, and did actually offer some supporting comments. No question I have been impressed w/ the hands of our WRs. Further, i would also so our WRs have been impressive w/ their tracking ability. I have been impressed by what our WRs have done after the catch as well. Hell, there has been a lot to like about our WRs. At the same time, I do think it a valid concern about their getting open. They are young, and this is to be expected, but it is still a concern. An example is the quick slant. I heard one of the announcers mention this in the NY game, and saw it again against Denver. On a quick slant, you don't worry about selling the go route. You don't worry about running a few yards upfield and then breaking on. On the quick slants, you immediately turn your body and run a slant route. But what our WRs have been doing is running a few yards downfield before cutting. When they do this, they are giving the DBs an opportunity to jump on the route, which I have seen 3 times now. Luckily, the ball bounced off the DBs hands each time, but it is scary as hell to see none-the-less. This is the sort of thing that takes time, and we have young WRs, so it is not totally unexpected. Regardless, it is something to watch. I like our young WRs. I also think that having a pair of TEs such as we do, combined w/ Forte (rushing and receiving) gives us more room to develop younger WRs. At the same time, I do think it fair to point out our WRs are not getting open very well. You talk about this play or that play, but a couple here and there is not what I am talking about. Look at Olsen. He is a known centerpiece in our system, and yet he seems wide open quite often. That is because he sells one route, makes a good cut, and finds space. We have the potential for a good offense, but if we want to really score w/ the big boys, we are going to need more consistent help from the WRs. For that to happen, they are going to need to develop their route running better.
  5. 3. not to make light of injury but the look on Kyles face when he's walking to the sideline holding his finger up like "look mommy I got an owie" made me chuckle a little. Maybe I have sick sense of humor but the visual just made me crack up. I watch games at a bar w/ a large group of bear fans. On that play, the whole bar erupted. Many of us still today like Orton, but the visual of his coming off the field, holding his finger up, and the look on his face was flat out sad. If you step back, you know he was simply motioning for the sideline to get the trainer ready to tend to him, but it sure did seem like he was crying to his mommy that he got an owie. I'll bet you Orton later see's that on film and wishes he could have that moment back. I think next time he just goes to the sideline, and quietly asks for the trainer to come over
  6. From everything I have read, the intent was far more about putting the thought into the minds of DCs for the regular season. If a defense sees Forte running a sweep, w/ a WR running downfield, they will have to keep a DB (or two) back in case Forte looks to throw. That alone helps free up the outside, which means Forte could have more room to run. So often it isn't about the initial success of a play, but the long term effect it has. Gotta love the chess/strategy in the game.

Terra actually has legit points. He isn't necessarily saying our offense is going to stink. I think he is saying our defense will stink, and questioning if our offense, as capable as it may be, is going to be good enough for shoot outs. That is a legit question. Further, he isn't just being negative w/o backup. IMHO, it is a very valid point questioning what our WRs did. In preseason thus far, we have seen our WRs make some great catches, but it is a legit point to point out that Cutler is often forced to thread the needle as our WRs do not seem to be getting very open. W/ as much focus as our run game and TEs are getting, I think it fair to expect our WRs to find more space. Especially in the last game, w/ Denver blitzing like crazy, you would think our WRs would have been more able to get open. That is something I noted as well. Numerous times, Cutler seems to be spending a lot of time looking for an open WR. This has been an issue in the past, and needs to get corrected. We all love watching our WRs making great catches, jumping over a DB or fighting for the ball, but it should would be nice to see our WRs wide open once in a while too.

Is the league a PPR league? If so, I see a bit of trouble, as your top 2 RBs do not catch the ball much, which hurts. Also, your WRs are not high catch guys. If the league is not PPR, QB - Nice pair. Palmer has a ton of upside, while Cutler should be a good/solid player. RB - Solid group, but the one thing that does stand out is injury concern, as your top 2 have dealt w/ injury issues, and your #3 is young and on a bad team. WR - This is really a boom/bust group. Jackson can rackup yards, but doesn't get many catches, and is a bit boom or bust. Not a fan of Roy Williams. He is getting trashed here in Dallas. Gage and Morgan are both very much game-to-game boom bust. TE - Obviously love Olsen. Just curious, but what # TE was he? D/ST - Good pick. Overall, solid at QB, RB and TE. Weak at WR, though w/ upside if players take a step. If all stay healthy, could be a solid group, but I would be a tad worried about the health of some, particularly the studs you are relying on.
  9. How about I just hit on some highlights. Does the Broncos new head coach look like a high school kid or what? He'll either be great for them for the next 50 years or he's in WAY over his head! Learned under Billichek, and wants to coach like him, but doesn't realize you have to have skins on the wall before you can act like him as a head coach. You need to gain respect before you treat players like shit. Our O Line is better than this. I know they are. But damn. And it wasn't just pressure on the QB. Forte only averaged 2.3 yards per carry. Denver's D has historically sucked donkey balls so this is a bit unnerving. Was and is a key concern of my. OL and DL are the two areas I still worry about heading into the season. Knox made the team last night. And probably so did Davis and Peterson. I can't see them cutting the stuttering little man after his performance last night and Davis played well on teams. Even if he can't hang onto the ball as a WR, he'll probably be here on opening day. Davis' play on special teams, combined w/ Rideau's recent lack of plays may get Davis the nod. I don't think Knox' roster spot was ever in question outside this board. Still not convinced AP makes the team. Can we just play with 4 TE's and forget about keeping ANY WR's? Can I get an AMEN! Hell, I think it would look great w/ 3 TEs and one WR. Use Knox, Hester or Aromashodu on the outside for deep threat, Split out Olsen, and keep Clark and Davis as your inside TEs. Forte in the backfield. Talk about matchup potential. Our starting D was still basically in the game when Brandstater did his John Elway impersonation. Anyone else concerned? Um, yea. Despite the score, I have not been impressed w/ our D at all. If Peanut isn't back for opening day, and they aren't saying shit at Halas Hall to my knowledge, we better find a corner who can actually play this game. Rodgers will pick us apart. Paired w/ our inability to create consistent pass rush, and this could be ugly fast. I see a bunch of "Orton is Dink and Dunk" type posts here... Sorry gang, the guy can and did hit the deep ball for us a number of times last year. The Bears couldn't just play for the short pass and use press coverage all the time. That said, they should actually try press coverage every once in a WHILE! Orton can, and has, thrown deep. But I don't think that is his strength. His deep throws have more loft and rarely are on target, forcing the WRs to adjust. He can do it. Most any NFL QB "can" throw deep. But he isn't good enough to fear. Combine that w/ their best deep threat not playing, and I just can not understand why we played our DBs so far off the LOS you would think they were facing Steve Smith. Anybody who drafts WR's from Denver this year in fantasy football expecting anywhere near the same numbers as last season is either high or delusional. Royal could still be very good. His style suits Orton. Dumervil is an appropriately named dickhead given he lives in Denver. Sorry, I'm back to where I started but those little town fans all wetting themselves over Cutler... They reminded me of pathetic Packers fans! All I know is, that guy was in the backfield nearly every down. The pass rush he brought last night was the sort we need to see from our DL.

RBs don't look pretty, but then you get to your WRs and damn. When you are that stacked at a position, you are going to be a tad weak in another. Personally, I wouldn't go after trades just yet. Rarely is someone willing to make a good offer early on for trades. I personally am a waiver wire guy. Almost always, you see players come out of no where. Watch the first few weeks and see if a RB steps up and then grab him. W/ a WR group like you have, I think you can afford to wait. Brown isn't too bad, and I'll tell you what. 1st 1/2 of Miami's schedule is far easier than the 2nd half. Brown may give you decent play early on, but you are going to want something more for the 2nd half of the season. Addai isn't horrible, but not one you want to count too much on. Hard to believe anyone can't do well in that offense, but he struggles. He could get some nice receiving to go w/ rushing if he can stay healthy. Good pick w/ D.Brown as a handcuff. If Addai doesn't step up this year, Brown could very well take over, and again, when talking about that offense, skys the limit. Rice is a toss up as it is hard to tell who will get how many snaps. Lynch is interesting as he could be helping when you need him, later on. Yea, you could use a RB, but w/ the other positions you have filled, I think you have wiggle room to wait and see if you can't get someone off the waiver wire. Love those WRs. 3 potential top 10 WRs in PPR league play. Also agreed AG has high potential this year, especially w/ Harrison gone. Not sure why you don't think you got a stud TE. Winslow struggled w/ injuries and bad offense last year, but previous two years averaged about 85 catches for 1,000 and 4 TDs. That is stud territory. Solid backup too. Overall, in a lPPR eague that you start 3 WR and 1 flex, I think you have the sort of WR talent that can carry you. You need some changes, but personally, nothing I would make a big deal about right now. You only want to make a trade when it favors you, and right now, few owners are going to make trades that are favorable for you. Wait it out and watch the waiver wire for RBs that unexpectedly step up.
  11. Tommie Harris limps when he runs, not a good sign. Harris rarely puts up much effort in preseason so hopefully he can still get upfield when it counts. Seemed like the Dline was able to get some pressure but it's tough with Orton throwing so many dink and dunk passes. I could have sworn Alex Brown was being held by Clady on several plays but no whistle. Nonetheless for Brown to get around the edge on Clady is a very good sign. Harrison is a beast if somebody can get inside this guys head and turn him into a true professional we've got a key component of this D for a long time to come. Still not sure why Adams gets so little respect but I like the guy. Without question, this is my greatest area of concern for me. There has been so much talk about WRs and secondary, but our defense revolves around the DL, and thus far, I am simply not seeing it. While I realize Orton is going to more often then not make quicker and shorter throws, regardless, I just didn't see a lot of pressure. It sort of "looks" like we get pressure, as our DEs often get in the picture, but they are taking a wide angle and pushed outside where they can't do harm. Our DTs get a bit of push, but not enough to push the QB back into the DEs outside path. Thus, while it seems like we have bodies in the picture, the reality is the QB has a nice little pocket to work in. I have seen a play here and there from most of our DL, but thus far, there has been nothing close to consistent pressure. LBs, some good, and some average play. I like the range Pisa has, he closes quickly and he's going to be a nice compliment to this group. Malast stays with this team, if not on the active roster he's on the practice squad. Overall, I thought I LBs played fine, and Pisa has really stood out. Man, that guy seems to be in on just about every play. If I have a gripe, its that we are still seeing that stupid fake blitz from our LBs. I really hoped that was a thing of the past. DBs, McBride is at best a 5th CB on this team. Among the corners I don't think anyone stood out, at least not for playing well. The safeties were quiet tonight but several times Payne did what a safety should do...he stopped a big play by making a sure open field tackle. Afalava didn't get his name mentioned all night. Ugly, and frankly, this made me sick. We are facing an offense w/ a QB who isn't exactly very good downfield, and yet regardless, our DBs are playing WAY off the WR. Someday, this will have to be explained to me. We show their WRs Steve Smith respect, and basically just make their jobs easy. WRs found so much room to make the catch it was sick. I just don't get the concept. You really should not be concerned about the deep pass. You know their game will be closer to dink/dunk. Thus I would think you try to take away the short passes, but instead, we basically give them that play. Cutler threaded a lot of passes into tight coverage and players caught them! I'm still not used to seeing that in a Bears uniform. The Oline, in particular Pace and Williams didn't play well. Pace changed his tactic from dropping back to trying to get out after Dumervil right off the snap and this seemed to at least give him another second to get his feet set on the outside. This is our first look at a 3-4 D and that's all we'll play from here on out until game 5. They settled down after a couple series but even then Cutler had to help with his mobility but that's part of the package. The OL was absolutely awful. I realize it was a 3-4, but regardless, this group better get better fast. Cutler was dealing w/ consistent pressure throughout the night. The only good thing I can say is, it gave an opportunity for Cutler to show just how fast he could get rid of the ball. I couldn't believe some of the passes he got off. Numerous times, I thought he was dead, but suddenly the ball is flying out of his hand, and w/ incredible velocity. WR...anyone surprised it's receiver by committee? Cutler did a great job spreading the ball around. I was pleasantly surprised to see Bennett run through a DB and then turn around and make a tough over-the-head catch on a key third down. I can't guess how the WR corps is going to shake out. Clearly we have Hester/Bennett and I think Iglesias and Knox both stick around. Among the final spot or two we have Rashied Davis who made some good plays on special teams but nada as a WR. Meanwhile Aromashodu and Rideau made some small plays at WR but didn't do much on special teams. This battle goes into game 4 Thursday night. Not surprised by the committee approach at all. It is basically what I expect to see. We don't have a #1, and even our #2(s) are unproven. I think our offense will key in on the TEs, and then we will see a lot of WRs contributing. Rideau, while a board favorite, is not looking good, and I think could be in serious trouble. I think Aromashadu has locked up his spot, and Davis may well have proven himself (on special teams) to get the nod over Rideau for a 6th spot.

If we are going to have keepers, I think we should decide prior to the draft, as it makes a different. Stafford may not be a QB I would consider (just an example) but if we are going to have a keeper league, I might take a late flyer on him. If you don't have keepers, you often pick more experienced backups who can help you now, but if you do have the keeper element, you are more often willing to draft young players who are iffy to help this year, but have great potential value after.

Question. Our league is titled "keeper league." I know we talked about trying to get a keeper league going. Is that the idea here? If we, while I realize players are not kept until next year, should we decide the rules of keeper players?
  14. After last year, I don't think we can count on his draft status helping Freeman make the team. The same is true with Knox. Don't forget that last year we cut 5th round pick Zack Bowman. He was even the 7th pick of the 5th round. Thankfully we re-added Bowman after we had injuries after week #1. We also cut our 2nd & 3rd round picks from the year before, Bazuin & Okwo. I'm just saying, draft status ain't what it used to be. But Bazuin and Okwo did get their rookie season. I am not saying a drafted player gets a pure free pass, but at the same time, I don't recall Bowman doing jack in OTAs or camp last year. Knox has. I honestly don't know where this idea that Knox could be cut is coming from. Knox was, per the staff, tearing it up in OTAs. He has looked good in camp, and while he hasn't looked great in the two games, is in line for a potential return duty job. This is a WR the staff has spoken about quite a bit. Honestly, I think Rideau and Aromashodu are more in jeapordy than Knox. While those two have become fan favorites, how often have we (fans) fallen for a guy in camp who didn't end up making the cut. Hell, Rideau last year would be an example. I don't know about this. Hunter's a back-up who sucks on special teams. Not to mention we'd save money by cutting him. One, how much money do we save? Two, while the staff loves special teams play, they also love versatility. Roach is strictly a SLB. Hunter is viewed as not only a SLB, but also still considered our 1st backup MLB. Three. Williams was the man in OTAs, and Roach was a player the staff liked (at one point) last year, but neither have been healthy this camp. Hunter started out hurt, but has come on since. Timing is everything in life. Just ask DM who could lose his starting FS job due to the timing of his injury.
  15. Funny you should mention, as I did actually have lunch (beer included) at a place close to the grassy knoll. Actually, I guess I was off on this one. I was under the impression this was from camp, but it was then pointed out it took place during OTAs, which does not have near the media coverage, and I think some practices may in fact be restricted. Oh well. Win some lose some.
  16. From what I read, it was a meeting between Marshall and either coach, front office, or both, which essentially prompted his childish actions. This guy is supposed to be a FA next year right? You have to wonder what his market is going to be like. Teams will often look the other way when it comes to the antics of elite players, but w/ Denver adding Orton, I find it difficult to imagine Marshall having the sort of season he did w/ Cutler. So next year, he will hit FA as a guy coming off a weak (below expectations) season, a well documented bad attitude and a rap sheet that would make PacMan Jones jealous.
  17. I think Iglesias is a virtual lock. He hasn't shown a ton, but also seems to be burried on the depth chart. It appears the staff is taking a longer term development approach w/ him like they did Bennett last year. If we only keep 5 (which I frankly doubt), Hester, Bennett and Iglesias I think are locks. I think Knox is a virtual lock as well. After that, you would have 3 WRs going after a 5th spot. If I had to guess right now, i think Aromashadu would be our 5th as (a) he seems to be higher on the depth chart by virtue of when he gets into the game ( he has made more plays © he seems to have more chemistry w/ Cutler, as well as Cutler's confidence and (d) I think he would be viewed as having more upside, and bringing something others doe not have. That would mean Rideau and Davis are on the outside looking in.
  18. Okay, I have a couple questions here before we take this as fact. One. Why are we only today hearing about this story, which came the first week of camp? ESPN has a guy at camp doing a daily blog, as well as constant twitter updates, and there was never a mention of this happening. And it isn't like he has been sugar coating the news, as he has mentioned numerous fights and arguments. Further, every practice has loads of other local and national media, and yet we have never heard about this? This is not a small thing either. If you buy the story, it was the sort of thing that literally shuts down practice for a period of time, as Cutler ran across the field to get in the rookie's face. Yet something as big as this goes completely unreported? Two. I do not know this as fact, but David Fleming is a senior writer for ESPN mag, and I do not think he is actually attending our camp. His info is most likely 2nd hand. Three. Flemming already had a negative opinion of Cutler. He says Cutler is a first class A-hole, and says its not a secret as if it is fact. Read how he talks about Cutler departing Denver, and how he puts the whole thing on Cutler. So here is a writer who already had a very negative opinion of Cutler, and he writes a negative article about him using a story which apparantly no other attending camp actually witnessed? Four. In a recent blog from someone who was actually at camp, there is a piece about Cutler throwing to Olsen, who made a one handed grab for a score. After that, on the sidelines, Cutler was laughing w/ Olsen saying asking if he had to make every grab one handed and look spectacular. Cutler found humor in Olsen's one handed grab, and joked about it, yet in this story it comes off like Cutler could care less about the catch being made, but only cares about how it is made. I agree w/ others that even if the story is true, it is not nearly as bad as the writer makes out, but I have to be honest, I really question the validity of the story itself. More than anything, w/ all the cameras and reporters at camp who have reported every small pushing match or altercation, it is really hard to believe that something as big and practice halting as this totally flew under the radar.
  19. Davis has likely already hit his ceiling. I'd take the devil I don't know in this particular case unless he gives me a reason not to. Or the competition from the younger guys simply isn't that strong. At the end of the day, I think this statement is what it all comes down to. You say we can't go too much of Davis' history as he has never been paired w/ a QB like Cutler. To an extent, I agree. At the same time, I think Davis is a WR who really never had a high ceiling, and frankly, even when he was a slot receiver for us, he had already surpassed expectations. Even w/ a QB like Cutler, I think his ceiling is only so high. We have a slew of young WRs, all of which likely are seen as having higher upside than Davis. As far as camp goes, Davis is good insurance if one (or more) of these young WRs do not look ready to step up their game sooner rather than later. Expectations were not great for Aromashodu or Rideau (outside this board). Iglesias and Knox are rookies. Bennett never caught a pass in the NFL. Hester is still relatively green in terms of development. There is a lot of talent, but its raw, and thus insurance is necessary. In fact, I think most would argue we needed a better insurance policy. But a funny thing happened on the way to the regular season. Through OTAs and camp, those young WRs really impressed. Hester showed a true committment to the WR position, and worked hard to develop. Bennett began making plays, and showing some of the college chemistry he had w/ Cutler. Rideau picked up where he left off last year camp (which was on a high note). Aromashodu came out of no where, and seemed to become Cutler's favorite target. Iglesias and Knox have not taken as great of leaps, but each has shown significant ability, and I think are in line w/ early development expectations. Then throw in the consistent and solid play from our TE position, and the need for a middle of the road insurance policy is simply no longer necessary. Davis may well keep his job, but I think it would be too bad if he did. Davis was a nice player for us, but to be blunt, we don't need him anymore.

"and yet" they are still the bigger national running joke. Oh wait. I don't mean to be throwing racism at Mr. Bradley by hating on the cubies. 23. One, I don't think a trade is particularly necessary. Two, while they look stacked on paper, I am not sure Phily is going to be so willing to make a trade. I was under the impression they have been dealing w/ numerous injuries, and may not want to lessen their numbers when their group is already down.

You want to "spank" pix. Um, I don't think this is that kind of board. I am sure if you do a google search, you will find plenty of sites that have just such boards though.
  25. Not just talking about the injuries, but the overall attitude. I watched the game online this weekend, and prior to the game, I saw an interview w/ Harris. His entire demenor was just bad. His answers were arrogant as hell. I don't recall if it was the guy doing the interview, or the guys back in the office that made the comment, but Harris looked and sounded like he was ready to rip the reporters head off. This was a scheduled sit down w/ Harris. Not running up to him as he is trying to leave the field after practice or something like that. I don't know. Just the way he came off. At one point, he was asked about his season last year, and he said he had a great season. Monday, he said he graded out very well from the NYG game in his 15 snaps. Um, is Tommie watching the same film we are? I remember Harris in college, and the talk during the draft. Harris was supposed to be this upstanding christian family guy who's character was being question. Today, he really seems like a disconnected, arrogant thug. I realize if he goes out and plays well, no one will care, but acting like this, at least IMHO for fans, doesn't help in the patience factor. I am not trying to start the, "all our players should be choir boys", and I realize not all our players love the media, but Harris' attitude today simply seems very different from the attitude he had a few years ago. People ask if we will get the "old Tommie" this year, and I sort of wonder if that only means his play.
