If this is Farv's last game of all time, I'm buying a Wooten jersey at the end of the season.
-
This has been mentioned too many times. It's one of the primary reasons why people began calling him Zombie Lovie.
-
Farv downgraded to "melon bounced off the ground."
-
I remember you bringing up a play before a play in reference to making a point. I believe it was first a bad offensive play by the Bears, then a punt by the opponents, then a punt return by the Bears. You used the results of the third play to defend the first two. I don't feel like searching for it, but I know you did it. I submit to you that Cutler would never been put in that position (what turned out to be an inconsequential INT) if not for Webb committing the holding penalty and taking a touchdown off the board. --edit-- I think it was the Packer game.
-
Yeah, if the NFL wants to be consistent at all. But I'm much more upset at Webb for taking 7 points off the board with his penalty.
-
Aromashodu wide open. Cutler makes time and then chucks it perfect. Holding call. OF course. The next play? INT. Of course.

Yes. Forte has looked like Barry Sanders on one or two plays. Love it. I just wish we could see more and more games like this, where the OL actually does their job. The skill position talent would then shine like never before.
-
NICE hole from the OL! Give Forte a little room and he absolutely PLOWS the Viking LB!!
-
Yeah. Dilfer was the only one who picked the Vikings, mostly because he hates them. Chris Berman picked them too, but only because he was behind the others in picks. Dilfer also corrected someone else saying the Bears' D was "good" not "great." (I agree) He also called the offense pathetic.
-
I agree with your idea (i.e. 7 step drop on 3rd and 2 is a stupid), but I'm not quite so sure that was a 7-step drop play. I think that was a 3 or 5 step drop play in which Cutler just felt the pocket absolutely collapsing (what's new), and he continued to backup.
-
When is the last time the Bears' OL opened a hole like Toby Gerhardt just got? My goodness that was wide open.
-
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
-
I love how the OL not only sucks, but also gets called for penalties because they suck. Two in a row. Nice.
-
Peppers wasn't the one who missed the tackle on the TD. He missed the tackle on the Gerhardt run of 10ish yards.
-
DJ Moore got juked, and then Chris Harris tackled like a 10 year old little girl.
-
Disgusted thus far with the offense, and in particular (OF COURSE), the offensive line. Could they either pass block long enough to give Cutler a chance, or maybe open up some running lanes? Just one thing would be nice.
-
I'll say it: I WISH an injury onn Farv. I want something horrible to happen to him that will not injure him longterm in life, but will effectively finish his playing career. I'm absolutely disgusted with this guy and all the media attention he still gets.
-
If by that you mean the Bears defense playing against an opponent's backup QB, yet the Bears NEVER blow out an opponent...then, yes. I thought the same thing...kinda. The difference of course is that the GB backup simply played well, and the Bears' defense is simply designed to allow for a brazillion short routes, which is incredibly helpful for a noob QB.

The funny part to me is that ANYONE who claims to be a Bears fan is actually taking sides with the punter on this, when the Chicago Bears own field is an ACL tear waiting to happen. Unless you have a track record of complaining about the garbage sod allowed at Soldier Field, then you're nothing better than the pot calling the kettle black.

Hilarious.

In the six games since the bye week Olsen has the following stats: 23 targets 13 catches 120 yards 3 TDs And it appears to be getting worse. In the last three games? 3 targets 3 catches Martz is severely underutilizing a dangerous pass-catching TE. And we all called it at the beginning of the year. I was hoping it wouldn't happen, but it appears that the trend continues.

This is a very good article...it reflects what I've been saying for several weeks now. The Bears could easily have lost to Detroit, Green Bay, Buffalo, Philly, and Detroit again. Maybe the football gods are finally shining on the Bears? After all, Farv is having his worst year - professional and public - in a very long time.
-
Whoever said recently that we have had all sorts of luck with opponents' injuries has nailed it yet again. Really, I can't remember the last time a team faced so many opponents that had significant injuries just before the game.
-
Finally, something we all mostly agree on. My thoughts: 1) He is, was, and always has been overrated. If he hadn't built up the media fellatio over the years, they'd be ripping him like they do Cutler for every single forced throw. Instead, "Oh, he's such a gun slinger!" I'd go so far as to say that he's not even one of the top 5 QBs of all time; it's not even worth debating. 2) His flip-flopping with the Packers and the Vikings has created a culture where nobody, except the media, likes him. 3) His consecutive game streak is trumped up like Ripken's was. There were several times he played when he shouldn't have, and his team suffered as a result. Besides, Jim Marshall's streak is MUCH more impressive. 4) Chris Berman and John Madden are both in dark closets crying inconsolably into their autographed Farv jerseys. 5) I've always hated him, and it's amazing how easily everyone overlooks the various negative things that he has done (i.e. vicodin, sending photos of his junk to Jenn Sterger not long after his wife battled cancer, lying down on purpose to give Strahan the sack record...) Good riddance.

Very clever reply. Is it impossible for you to see how a team with guys like Cutler, Hester, Knox, Urlacher, Briggs, and Peppers could make one or two big plays that could turn the tide of a game? They often win in spite of the coaching, in spite of the scheme, and are vastly underutilized.
