Big time throw from Fields. Glad Patrick is of the fields because Freeney seems stronger at the point of attack.

Pass rush looks quite good today is it because the Raiders oline is poor.

Really good first half from the team. Bagent has managed the game well and we get a good look at him over the next month.
Pleased that the d had a stop on the first drive of the second half. Would be nice to drive and get another TD.

Being a Fields sympathizer, he did what he had to win. The Broncos game was more a defensive letdown (aka coaching issue) and due to their having third stringers playing in key positions. They gave up a 21 point lead. Washington has one of the top (if not THE top) front four linemen in all of defense.
He also had 2 turnovers, one of which resulted in a score. Let's see how he does against LV (or any other opponent after that) when they have some tape on how Bagent vs Fields runs the offense. One thing from the outset we know about him is he doesn't have the elusiveness Fields does and a bit of a noodle arm in comparison.
QB Tyson Bagent on his pick: “under threw it there a little bit & that’s on me, & something I have to fix going forward.”
Last night on the chat there was a suggestion that Bagent’s arm was hit on the throw. Bagent admitted he under threw Moore and it has been suggested on social media he can not throw the required distance for the route due to a lack of arm strength.
If his arm strength was an issue then that leads me to think Getsy did not call a play aligned to Bagent’s abilities and you can argue that is also the case with Field’s difficulties.
Before we move on from Fields we need to be damn sure that his deficiencies aren’t due to Getsy not being up to the job.

They bring in Moore and Claypool, then claypool gone so it's Moore and undersized speed guys.
Little to no preseason experience to get game ready.
Bring in Caleb Williams, if he wants to come here to die like all QBs do. He knows this franchise loves their backups more than their starters so he will be hated soon. Orton, McCown, and now Bagent are the answers.
Why waste another high pick on a QB when we need a LT and C and several players on the DL that give us a serious QB pressure rushing 4 players.

Give Fields better protection and decent play calling and he might be able to thrive.
We would be able to address the holes in our starting O and D, then become a legitimate team.
I would rather strengthen the team in the 2024 draft and free agency. Then if you are right that Fields is terrible we will have a strong roster to draft a high first round QB in 2025.

Why not enjoy pulling within a score instead of bashing Fields. We have lots of holes that need addressing instead of using a no. 1 pick on another lottery pick.

Ugly half from Fields. Is this all on him or has Getsy returned to his poor play calling.

We will do well to beat the Vikings and the dodgy field crew. Cannot believe we didn’t recover the fumble.

With DJ supposed stepping out of bounds, why not let it play out and review the TD. I only managed to watch the highlights but haven’t seen the view at the sideline.

Why is Claypole not involved with team and being asked to stay away from the team. I can only see he suggested he could be used differently to succeed. Or is there other disciplinary issues I haven’t seen. If the former it’s seems a bit harsh.
I support Man Utd and Jason Sancho is not training with the first team because he suggested in a X (twitter) post that Ten Hag (manager) had told lies that others players were training better and this was why he was a healthy scratch for a game.

There is no way Bears sack Flus and Getsy before the end of the season, I don’t think we have changed coaches mid-season, it’s something I cannot remember, but I might be wrong.
I liked Fields play yesterday and agree that the play that lead to the sack is something that should not have be called. I think the chance of a sack is greater with that play and we could not afford to have a sack there. So Getsy was able to call a good game other than a couple of plays here and there. Can Getsy, learn and improve? I don’t know.
My biggest disappoint was the defense giving up the 21 point lead considering that Flus’ background is on that side of the ball. If he had a coordinator calling the plays then I could understand there could be a disconnect between what Flus and his assistant wanted to call. If a head coach cannot effect the side of the ball which is his specialism, then how can he be competent leading the team.

Is it better play calling or a terrible defense? Hopefully a bit of both. Fields looks significantly better today and getting him outside of the pocket seems to be helping.

Nice series especially coming back from the false start which is unusual because the O doesn’t do well being behind the chains.

Good series from the D, fingers crossed we can get a lead. So far Fields looks better today.
Nice to get a break it’s unusual for the Bears, we nearly always get stiffed.

If we have 2 top ten picks in the draft I’m hoping, if available, we draft stud DEs so that we have a decent pass rush and also spend improving the defense in free agency unless we can significantly improve the oline.
Until we strengthen the other areas no one can say that Fields cannot become a decent QB.
Also if coaching is an issue this needs to be addressed.
Until we have a serviceable oline, which injuries have prevented, we cannot make an accurate assessment of Fields has a pocket passer. Unfortunately you cannot put one of the top 5 QBs behind our line to gauge how they would perform.

I think there are still a lot of unanswered questions with Fields before we can move on to drafting another QB. I don’t know if the oline is currently good enough for any QB to thrive and are Flus and Getsy up to the job. Poles definitely has some hard decisions to make.

The only thing that helps the Bears from having over 60 pts scored today is Mahomes injuring his ankle. I cannot think of a worst half in the last 20 years.
