  1. Training Camp Video a friend of mine made from his recent visit. Here is the link enjoy!
  2. The way I figure it, is the guy can't be any worse then Metcalf. That being said, I am still holding out hope that we make a play for Anderson or maybe even trade for Starks from Pitt.
  3. Per Brad Biggs: Bears have traded Bucs Guard Dan Buenning. No details at this time.
  4. Not that it's big news, but the NFL Network is reporting that Rasheed Davis has signed his one-year tender offer w/the Bears. Given the current state of our receiving corps. it couldn't hurt having him compete during camp.
  5. Per the Tribune and Pro Football Talk, Urlacher is saying that the report in the Sun-Times is false. He stated that he never threatened to quit or be traded,a nd that he wants to stay in Chicago. He also said that the Bears have offered a one-year extension and that his agents are great and working on a deal for him. He also stated that his neck and back are feeling fine and that he is rehabbing well.
  6. I love this mock and think it would be a great draft, however I would probably want the team to go safety in the fourth. I just don't see linebacker as that great a need especially over safety where there remains a ton of questions about not onyl Mike Brown health but about how good Daniel Manning is going to be or not be, and whether Kevin Payne and Brandon McGown are as good as the Bears think they are.
  7. Pro Football Talk is reporting that Malcolm Kelly of Oklahoma ran a 4.63 forty in his latest attempt. Given the fact that there have been rumbling about him possibly dropping into the second round and the fact that scouts tend to in my opinion focus too much on the forty as opposed to game speed, would you consider taking him in the second round if he is there. I like his size 6'3" 218 and he was fairly productive at Oklahoma. Just a thought.
  8. I understand where you are comming from to a point. Although I do think that Olivea is better than Metcalf, Oakley, and Beekman. Payne did look good, but agin I the way it has been sounding they plan to use him more on Special Teams. Trust me I am normally one of the more optimistic Bears fans that there is, however I am just a little frustrated at the lack of urgency being shown by the team. And while I also do not wan to throw money away on the supposed "big name," guys, I feel we should at least be attempting to solve the o-line problem outside of in-house and the draft. I do not want two guys with little to no experience in the NFL starting on my line next year. I wold rather we draft one and sign another.
  9. Is anybody else worried about our chances going into the 08' season. I am beginning to wonder what the Bears are thinking. I cannot believe that they truly think it is possible to find a starting LT, LG, WR, potential starting RB, and starting quality safety, not to mention a third QB and depth at DT all in one draft. Angelo has been sitting on his hands while potential quality at htese positions has been gobbled up in free agency and not every contract has broken the bank. I am still wondering why we have yet to make an offer to Olivea, or Eugene Wilson. Mike Brown seems to be hurt every year, and Archuletta is terrible. Danile Manning may become a good free safety, but Kevin Payne is untested and is looking like he will be more of a special teams player then every down safety. And if they think that they are going to improve our woefull running game by attempting to fill the guard position on the cheap mvia an in-house competition they are sorely mistaken. It is no wonder they are going out looking for a new PR agency, becuase they are going to need all the help they can get selling us fans on a lack-luster effort to improve this off-season.
  10. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that there is mutual interest between the Bears and RB Chris Brown. Brown had finished with 102 rushes for 462 yards and five touchdowns while playing behind LenDale White. He is currently visiting Houston. I am not really sure how I would feel about this if it went through. I am inclined to lean toward the draft for RB and would rather we use free agent money on an guard.
  11. I have to say that this "open competition," at left guard is not what I thought the Bears had in mind when they mentioned improvement and change on the O-Line. Plenty of serviceable guards have gone to other teams this season via free gency the most recent being Jake Scott of the Colts goint to the Titans. If the Bears think that Beekman, Oakley, Metcalf, and St. Clair are as good as Scott, Smiley, Bell, or even Olivea they are out of thier minds. I failed ot mention Faneca only because it was a foregone conclusion that the Bears were not going to spend what he was asking for. Either way if we open up the season with any of those choices from the "competition," we are in serious trouble.
  12. Per the Sun-Times Brandon Llyod has signed a one-year deal with the Bears.
  13. Per the rumor mill at ESPN.com John Clayton is reporting that the Bears amongst other teams may have interest in Julius Jones. Jones, widely considered the top running back left on the free-agent market, has visited Detroit, Tennessee and Seattle. He's also considering trips to CHICAGO and Philadelphia, according to Clayton. With starting running back Kevin Jones coming off knee surgery, the Lions are looking for insurance at the position. The Seahawks might be looking to phase out Shaun Alexander and feature a running back duo of Jones and T.J. Duckett, who was signed recently. In four seasons with Dallas, Jones rushed for 3,484 yards on 885 carries.
  14. Wow, they seem to have hit it right on the head in regard to Benson. I really felt like he would turn the corner, but recently I am beginning to doubt he ever will. I really think this guy has bust written all over him, it's too bad that we are still trying to solve problems at running back after using the 4th pick overall only three years ago.
