Average of $45M a year, $140M in guarantees. I get it, but man. Once this new money hits, how do they field a team worth a damn? Once Wilson's new money hit, he had one WR, no RBs, no TEs, and half a defense. This works out for the team on the 2nd half of the deal, but I would assume the contract is renegotiated year after year until another deal is locked in. A good problem to have, but has this ever worked out before? It seems once a QB gets paid big money, they never win it all again.

That would be interesting, but is 3rd Edge our weakest positional need? I would say O-Line is still a concern, and we don't have a backup RB. I would be all for picking up Golden, but I think he would go to where he can start.

It seems like ever since the Cutler era, we are now a team the national media loves to crap on. Nagy's first season was a fluke and we get to live with the Trubisky mistake for eternity.

Cam signed a vet minimum deal. There has to be issues otherwise he would never do that. I am good with the Foles signing given the circumstances with the virus and offseason.

Yeah, huge mansion with overhang that connects to garage.

Same with Jackson, it's stupid. Let them sleep on them.

If you go back to 2016, he is 5th amongst TE's in receptions, yards, and TDs with 0 games missed.
-
I saw some news about Mack and Smith both training like beasts. Hopefully, it translates to a great season. If those two are better than they were in 2019, the defense is going to be a top 5 unit.

Monty has been getting a lot of praise lately. Most expect him to have a better year this year.
-
Ridley was also mentioned as a breakout candidate at WR, so that's promising. With them drafting Mooney and signing Ginn. The WR competition for those final spots is going to be tight. Wims may be the odd man out if he doesn't take the next step.

Could be, it just felt off. He went from thanking the organization for believing in him when he was injured (what seemed like every year) and "Bear for Life" to he is considering playing again but if he did, it would not be with this staff. I feel like they were quick to put him on season ending IR and I am sure that he did not like the optics of it.
-
It seemed to be out of the blue though. He has nothing to gain from the comment, which is odd, because he alienated more people than gained followers. He literally contradicted himself multiple times from previous statements about the staff and the organization. Bear for life, etc. He had only good things to say about the organization until yesterday. I just found that odd. If you read the whole thread and his replies, something is up.
-
His thread seems to indicate that he is not done with football yet. At 30, a comeback is not out of the question. He just made it clear it would not be with the current staff.
-
There is a long thread on this, but he basically said it was not his decision. He was fired and didn't quit. He was told at halftime in London (against the Raiders). Very odd. He has stated before that he was a Bear for life, but this paints a whole new picture of the clubhouse. A disgruntled former employee or is there something else to it?

Whoa, I was not expecting this:
-
I saw this too: "Kwiatkoski ranked 30th in PFF’s run-stop percentage", so that may have been why they decided to go with DT over Kwit.
-
I could see Monty getting 1500 total if he gets 1000/500. I don't think Kmet gets somewhere closer to 600. Otherwise, the QB would need over 4500 yards to get the receivers those numbers.
-
That's a great attitude, but he needs to know how to read a defense and look for something beyond his first read.

The knock on Ifedi has always been his lack of experience. He has all the physical traits to dominate. That is what frustrated Seattle so much. So as long as he puts in the work, he can still improve his game.

Last Monday, the team had a zoom meeting in regards to the social injustice and police brutality ongoing issues in the country. Apparently, from reports and quotes from the players, they went into thinking it was not going to be productive, but it turns out that it really hit home for a lot of players. The team's bond strengthened and you could tell that some players genuinely felt like there was progress made. In general, that's great, and for a team that has to rely on each other on every play, that is also a great thing. Nagy has been trying to change the culture and I think that meeting may be one of those turning points, where the team was half in and half out on all the things Nagy was implementing, but now it feels like a bulk of the core players are all in. So we will see if it makes a difference, but I feel like that meeting may have helped multiple causes.

Graham will be interesting, I guess we will have to see how he does on the field. If he gets 50-600 and 7 TDs, you probably keep him at 10M. If he is doesnt live up to expectations, you take the dead money and run like you are looting at Louis Vuitton.

Adams is silly as are a lot of other scenarios. It doesn't seem like many writers apply any sort of common sense to their articles. Most are just for shock value and clicks. With any year anything can happen but there is no way they will pay Fuller $20M. Leno will be making $11.3M, so unless he improves, he could also be gone. Massie is very similar, $9.3M? So Fuller is the first to go, even with the dead money. I assume they will try to trade him first in order to get some compensation. Otherwise, they get nothing for him. Second will be one of the two OT's. I can't see both returning in 2021.

Floyd---------Quinn (Mack/Quinn are easily a top-3 Edge Rushing Duo, this is going to make the entire defense, especially the secondary a lot better) Prince -----Johnson (Johnson is a 1st round talent with fresh legs, this is another clear upgrade) HaHa---------- Gipson (If anything, this allows Jackson to play more in centerfield, which is a good thing) Coward----- Ifedi, Bars (Experience-wise, Ifedi brings a lot of starter experience to the line, hard to not see this as an upgrade to Long/Coward. Also, if Leno cuts down on his penalties, the O-Line looks a lot better even before adding Ifedi or Bars) Burton------ Graham- Kmet (Talk about a 180, this group almost becomes a strength of the offense, Graham can still catch and creates a ton of mismatches in the RZ, Kmet is very well rounded and will be like bringing in a young Greg Olsen back. Guys like Harris, Holtz, and Horsted go back to being backups) Kwit--------- Trevathan (to me this was a leadership move first, and technically, for the next year or maybe two, a performance move too. Long term, Kwit was the better option) MT----------- Foles (regardless which QB starts, we know the bar is going to be higher, so we know this position will at least be improved in 2020) Williams ----- Hicks (Williams was pretty good when getting some PT, but Hicks is a fringe All-Pro level player. If he can stay healthy, with the other additions, this defense may be better than 2018.) Gabriel (3rd wr)---------- ? Ridley, Ginn, Wims (Gabriel was already replaced by Miller - who looked really good late in the season, so essentially we need someone to replace Miller's early season output, which was not that much. I think we can find something out of Ridley, Wims, Ginn, or even Mooney.) Lynch (3rd edge) Gipson (Don't sleep on this one, Lynch was a penalty machine, so just adding some young legs who can spell Mack or Quinn with a decent pass rush will be an improvement over Lynch)

Nice find, and I was pretty accurate on my guess lol.
