Non-Bears FA Signings
Elway would never do that. I can see him bringing Fitzpatrick, RG3, or maybe even trade up in the draft.

Matt Forte to sign with...
Doug Martin is getting $35M for 5 years (7AV), Miller is getting $26M for 4 years (6.5AV), so I don't know if 5M would be his number. I was thinking $4M max for 2 years. If he got $5M+ for 3 years or more, then that was probably a good move on the Bears part.

Non-Bears FA Signings
Hopefully this gives us the edge for Allen.

Bears rumors
@KCChiefs G Jeff Allen being heavily pursued by @ChicagoBears & @Atlanta_Falcons among others. @NFLonFOX With Boone gone, hopefully we can get Allen.

Yeah, I was thinking Wright or Jones potentially there, but they are listed as OLBs.

Non-Bears FA Signings
Yeah, let's get Allen or Boone for half that.

Danny Trevathan Close to Deal with Bears
I really hope this is more posturing on Atlanta's part, and he already has his mind made up. We have basically double the cap space as them, but I don't want to get in a bidding war either.
-
Danny Trevathan Close to Deal with Bears
We would lose a 2nd for Marshall, so I wouldn't draft one if we went that route as we have too many other needs to commit that many resources (money and draft picks) to one position.
-
Danny Trevathan Close to Deal with Bears
Really? I was thinking $9 per.
-
Danny Trevathan Close to Deal with Bears
That is basically half the cost of the franchise tag for an LB, so this is an awesome deal if true.

Dwayne Allen off the market
Bennett's stock just went up with that deal. Not a huge TE market, and Bennett would arguably be the best of the bunch.

Danny Trevathan Close to Deal with Bears
I would say the lack of rumors is a good thing. Normally the rumors are pure speculation on the media's part and not really leaks. They are just trying to get lucky with a scoop by linking us with known players at a position of need. Also, Trevathan was linked to 3 teams, the Bears, Falcons, and Dolphins. Look what just happened with them: 1. Dolphins trade for Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell 2. Free-agent LB James Laurinaitis visiting Atlanta on Tuesday So Dolphins out for sure with that trade (due to position and cap reasons), and the Falcons have decent cap space but still about half of what we have.

My FA wish list
Yeah I just added a few at the end, not really a need, but if either of those guys wouldn't be bad options with their return abilities.

My FA wish list
I know we will pick up a few mid-level and vet minimum guys like last year, but as a wish list, these would be the guys I would target. For DL: 1. Jaye Howard 2. Damon Harrison 3. Derrick Shelby 4. Ian Williams For ILB: 1. Danny Trevathan 2. Jerrell Freeman 3. Rolando McClain 4. Donald Butler For CB: 1. Janoris Jenkins 2. Sean Smith 3. Patrick Robinson For S: 1. George Iloka, 2. Tashaun Gipson 3. Rodney McLeod 4. Rahim Moore For OL: 1. Kelechi Osemele 2. Alex Boone 3. Jeff Allen For TE (if Bennett is moved): 1. Ladarius Green 2. Dwayne Allen For WR: 1. Travis Benjamin 2. Rishard Matthews

Bears rumors
I would love Alex Boone. If we can snag one of Kelechi Osemele, Jeff Allen, or Boone, I would be happy.

Bears rumors
Check Jackson's splits, 0 sacks at home (Denver) and almost no production in the 4th quarter. Those two are normally tied to conditioning, so I don't know if we want to break the bank on a guy with conditioning issues.
-
nobody mentioned
This should be our stance for the OL and DL. Draft the trenches every year.

Lemon's Bears Mock
That list is completely underwhelming and is the exact reason I would be hesitant to spend a 3rd on Miller as a WR. With one of our extra 6th, sure, why not, but not anything before the 5th. Hines Ward played his Junior and Senior years as a WR so he doesn't count, Marty Booker was a WR his entire collegiate career, and Randle El really never lived up to the billing/potential and was always one of those hybrid threats that was not great at any one thing. I am just leery of risks or projects with this current roster. Like I said before, otherwise, I like the draft. Now based on the players available (say in the next 10-15 picks) who could replace Miller?

Lovies back
I think he will do pretty good in the college ranks. Illinois has been down for awhile, so there is only one way to go from here, up.
