Bears vs Seattle Seahawks game four game thread

Yes, because you have the right to talk. -
I was a Shawne Merriman/Antrel Rolle kinda guy. Merriman would look so damn good in Hunter's spot right now.

Top 10 most intriguing Super Bowl matchups
Kalapse replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Soldier Field
I felt like putting a bullet in my brain after watching "MANNING BOWL I: BATTLE FOR THE AGES!!!11" an Eli Vs Peyton Super Bowl? No thanks. Ravens Vs Bears would be such a crazy awesome game, that would be some great football. -
That's about what I suspected, the secondary which was a huge concern comming into the seaon (and still is) has been downright nasty thus far outside of that shit play by Tillman yesterday. I have no problems with the defense so far, basically all the yards they've given up on the ground have been in garbage time and the passing yards have come on one 86 yard drive yesterday and the rest through short pass plays. The Bears have 9 sacks through 2 games which is the 3rd best in the NFL and they've hardly blitzed at all. The D-Line has been completely insane, getting a ton of pressure allowing the Bears to provide maximum coverage downfield instead of having to blitz DBs/LBs in order to get in a QB's face.
-
From what I've seen it seems the defense has been giving up a ton of small plays actually, they've been playing a "bend don't break" type of "D" where they'll allow the opponent to complete the short pass but allow absolutely NOTHING after the catch. I'd venture to guess that the longest play allowed from scrimage through the first 2 games is somewhere around 20 yards.

Ugh, this team is ridiculously weak at LB, the loss of Hillenmeyer for any extended perioid of time could really hurt the special teams. Ayanbadejo is an absolute monster on kickoffs and is a big reason why the Packers had horrible field position all day Sunday.
-
From what I remember of him from Michigan State he was just an all around reciever, a decent sized target with excellent hands and very good speed. That post of mine was basically just a paraphrase of what Angelo said about Rogers last week.
-
Rogers won't be comming anywhere near Halas Hall, he's another speedy injury prone underachieving reciever, that's not exactly the type of guy Angelo is going to look to add seeing how he already has a few of them on the roster already.
-
Lance Briggs had a good laugh over Roy Williams' 40 point comment. Haha, this is going to be such a great game.
-
I take it you didn't see the Lions D go up against the Seahawks and shut down Shaun Alexander. Shaun Rogers is an absolute beast and if the interior offensive linemen are well prepared for him he will reek havok on the Bears already flimsy offense. The Lions linebacking core of Sims, Bailey and Lewis is the fastest the Bears will face this season and for a running game that already has enough trouble getting to the outside that will not bode well for Jones and Benson. The Lions will not be a pushover.
-
It's pretty funny that a guy like Roy Williams would come out and guarantee a victory against a team like the Bears. I know it might not seem like much on the surface but this Bears defense is full of large, angry men looking for any reason to kill someone especially a guy like Mike Brown who brutalized Williams' teammate Marcus Pollard last year. Roy Williams likes to talk.

Harris blames 'dirty' Packers for leg injury
Kalapse replied to DrunkBomber's topic in Soldier Field
According to Lawrence Holmes, Tommie Harris is ok and should be good to go against the Lions on Sunday. -
Doug Bafone is completely overjoyed on the post game show on 670. hillarious

Bears v. Packers game thread Sept 10, 2006, Season Opener

Either the #1 or #2 broadcasting team from Fox, so possibly Buck and Aikman. I'm not sure who the #2 team is now a days. -

I worked until 11 last night I fell asleep around 4 and right back up at 6 to be at work by 8. I'm tired, hungry and cranky the god damn Bears had best not let me down. -

This game scares me, Favre usually finds a way to move the ball down field against the Bears D and now that he has a seemingly healthy Green in the backfield it should make it even easier for him. Why couldn't Favre just retire this past offseason like he was saying he would Aaron Rodgers doesn't scare me one bit. -

Gotta agree, I've been looking forward to this game all week, those bastards had better not disappoint. The first game of the day (Bengals Vs Chiefs, CBS) should be a crazy ass shoot out so the Bears dominant D should be a nice change of pace at 3:15. -
Could the Bears win this on Special Teams?
Kalapse replied to southsider2k5's topic in Soldier Field
Yep, they cut B.J. Sander in August. What a colossal mistake that was. Who the hell drafts a punter in the 3rd round? -
Rod Gardner was cut by the Packers mainly because of his incredibly pathetic inability to learn even the basics of their offense, he was so clueless at times that they actually had to show him where to lineup in-game.
-
Charles Rogers is probably the most dominant college wideout I've ever seen play mainly because I didn't watch any Marshall games when Moss was there, the guy still has unlimited potential. There's really no reason not to take a chance on a talent like Rogers.
-
Yes you really do seem to be a fan of "trouble".
-
Other than the 2 collerbone injuries he picked up against the Bears he's also supposidly been a pretty lazy practice player. Maybe not having to face the Bears' defense twice a year will give him a new lease on life.
-
The Bengals also cut Reggie McNeal, remember now the Bears were rumored to have been interested in him going into the draft I really think if the Bengals had traded up to 2 places in front of the Bears in the 6th round Angelo would have taken him over Runnels. McNeal could be a nice project WR considering his athletic upside.
