I like Eddie Royal. I definitely know we could get him for cheap. When Bates and Cutler were in Denver, that was the year he went off for 90 catches. He'll go back to being a beast again. Also could take the place of Johny Knox on special teams backup to Hester. Colston would be my #1 guy to go after in free agency after Mario Williams and Carl Nicks if he's available. I'd then sign Royal for cheap and draft Kendall Wright with the 19th pick to complete our WR core of Colston, Wright, Bennett, Royal. If we can't get Colston I'd try my hardest to steal Finley away from GB.

I don't know what number to believe when looking at what our cap space will be like this season. I've seen 24 million and 50 million. I've seen the breakdown of the latter and it's hard to dispute.

He had a serious neck injury, and you kind of sorta need to have a good neck to be able to play football. That's the only thing that worries me with him, and I'm sure that's why the Chargers released him to begin with.

They were contenders this season with a healthy Cutler and after getting into the NFC Championship game last year. If they hit a homerun this offseason with the draft and FA there is no telling how good this club can be. But it has to happen within 1-2 years before the inevitable decline of some of our players on defense start to come into affect. We will need a few years of drafting to solve that issue.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. The QB coach is essentially the passing coordinator.

Tice will be the one calling the plays but Bates will be in charge of designing the offense around Cutler from the passing standpoint. He is essentially an offensive consultant.

I just pray he's able to get his quality of life back. If he comes back to football, I wish him well but I wouldn't expect much. Hits like that will have a lingering impact on him for a while I think.

Generally its the tackles that go in the first round. Guards and centers are usually positions that go later in the draft.

Why are you bringing up something that has nothing to do with anything? Nobody here has said anything about jersey changes reflecting record. I frankly could care less if they did or didn't make changes, why do you think we are even talking about it? Probably has something to do with the topic... Gee Idk.. I guess because the jerseys back in the 90's sucked ass and now they are actually pretty good looking? My doctor recommends I stay away from this thread.

I don't know how healthy that knee is. He's had troubles with injuries in the past. I'm not sure I do that deal. You strengthen one part of your team but weaken the other. What's the advantage? I would have to know how healthy he is before I put all my eggs in one basket for him.

Eh. They really aren't that close by comparison. They don't have to adopt the exact same thing, I just wanted to find a good change up in uniforms that represented itself well in the changes that were made. As I mentioned before, a little more white in the navy unis could do well even if they kept a similar scheme to them. I don't really care for the 3 stripes thing all that much.

whhaaa? who said anything about turning them into the Broncos? The only resemblance the two teams have together is they both share the same colors. Doesn't mean they can't change up their design a little bit because of it. I hate the tradition crap, but so be it if there are people that feel that way.

This is a perfect representation of a change that worked extremely well and brought Illinois into the modern world. If the Bears ever made a change, I would hope they do something similar.

Free agency will dictate which route the Bears choose to go early in the draft. If we end up with a Dwayne Bowe I have no problems going a different position but if not, WR is the first to come off my pecking list.

You obviously didn't even read what I wrote if that's what you think.

I don't think a press conference is particularly that important but what we heard (or what little we heard since he didn't actually say anything) I was not impressed. He beat around every question, kept using the same words over and over again, even made up the word "orientated", and I didn't like how he didn't really take ownership of being the man in charge. Kept deflecting that towards "working together as a team" instead of showing that leadership and letting it be known that he's the guy that's making the decision. It's just a gripe. As long as he drafts well and gets players in free agency, I'm good.

Well Floyd, no brainer. The feeling I get from this draft, in what is relatively light on offensive lineman talent, is that some of these guys that are projected to go mid-late first are really only there by default. Granted some seem to look like bonafide players, however I don't believe Adams is one of them. You could trade down to get these guys if that was your plan.

The 1960's jersey looks almost identical to the ones they are wearing now. I'd like to see them change the design pattern and incorporate more white into the navy uniforms. Similar to what the Minnesota Vikings did with their jersey change a few years back.

It's good he got this guy outta there and it's good to see it looks like he's going to bring in his own scouting staff asap.
