  1. You knew that was going to happen eventually. Man, we might go 0-4..
  2. Our special teams is easily the worst in the league. Raiders have started with great field position in all but one drive. Guys either aren't in their lanes or are getting too easily moved out of them. Meanwhile, our returner is slower than slow and probably wouldn't be returning college kickoffs at this point.
  3. Defense picking up where they left off. Hopefully they are finally figuring out Fangio's defense.
  4. Gould might be near the end. Can we please get a guy that can kick the freakin thing out of the endzone like every other kicker in the league?
  5. What a difference a QB makes. Why wasn't Grasu active??

    McPhee

He was violent last week. Look forward to seeing more of that the rest of the year. This year's D has a couple guys that play with passion compared to last year. Ratliff, McPhee, and Rolle bring a level of toughness that they didn't have last year.
  7. Well stated. How about just his ability to draw other teams offsides with his cadence? There is nobody better in the league at doing it, and Rodgers does it consistently almost every week. Those 1-3 extra plays every week start to add up. It almost always winds up being a completion or a PI flag. Last week, he threw a TD to James Jones using it, and the week before that he threw a TD against Richard Sherman. The guy is flat out amazing.
  8. The only QB that intrigues me is Goff, but he's awfully thin. I worry about his durability.
  9. That makes 12 out of 20 players that are still here from Emery's previous drafts. Only 5 are left from his first two drafts. You can bet that number will continue to go down in the years to come. Only clear hits so far appear to be just Long and Jeffery. I guess you could throw in the punter there, too.
  10. My plan would be not to spend it on a high priced FA. Emery fell into the trap of overspending in free agency because of years of previous bad drafting (and bad drafting from himself as well) and look where that got us. I'd look to add offensive lineman via free agency while we stockpile skill position talent in the draft. Pace needs to stay the course and remain patient. Keep on collecting those draft picks, this is going to take a little while..
  11. Because he'll be 30, and Pace wants to get younger. The fact that they weren't interested at all in extending his contract over the off-season is a good indicator that he won't be back, in my opinion. Sadly, I feel the same way about Bennett.
  12. I think it is highly likely that regardless of whether or not Forte is traded this year, he's not going to be re-signed. So, I suppose if you can get something valuable for him, you might as well. I'm not interested in just giving him away, but I'd take anything higher than a 5th for him in a heartbeat.
  13. I think it might be counter productive to trade Cutler at this point. Unless you have a serviceable QB to replace him, you're actually worse off because the supporting cast isn't going to get any better. This is where not having a promising young backup really hurts the Bears. You can't evaluate the talent around the quarterback if your quarterback is Jimmy Clausen.
  14. Yeah, I just don't want to trade Alshon, period. Even if White proves he's a #1, you still need more than 1 receiver! And he's 25! It makes no sense to me why letting Alshon walk is even a question. He's one of the only young players on this roster worth building around. You don't get rid of those guys.
  15. You think we could get a 3rd? I was thinking no more than a 6th rounder given his contract situation and the fact that he's nearly 30. If there was a team out there offering anything more than a 5th rounder, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Give Langford and Carey more touches.
  16. Bears get two 6th's rounders out of Bostic and Allen. Not bad, I guess. I'll tell you what is bad, though: Phil Emery's 2013 draft class. Only Kyle Long, Marquess Wilson, and Cornelius Washington remain. Very likely one or two more of those guys are gone next year..
  17. Wow. I hope we keep Marty for the long term. He's been one of the few finds from the Phil Emery era. He's transformed himself into a top 3 TE. No real reason to get rid of him now, IMO. It's not like the Bears won't have the money to spend either..
  18. I was actually kind of hoping he'd get one more opportunity at ILB since the guys in there now aren't doing much of anything. I understand the move, though. Can't keep you on the roster if you can't stay healthy. Wonder what we got for him.
  19. Jon Bostic now traded to the Patriots. Pace wheeling and dealing. Willie Young next?
  20. Despite lacking talent across the board, I like the way the coordinators, minus the shitty special teams guy, mold their gameplans based on the opponent. Each week they stress something new. I thought the defense did a fantastic job staying discipline in their rush lanes versus Russell Wilson. That NEVER would have happened under Mel Tucker. The LB'ers weren't overrunning plays and they kept Wilson from finding the edge when he wanted to scramble. They never lost contain and even forced him to take a few sacks in the pocket when it broke. That's a sign of improvement for sure. Offensively, Gase went with some heavy personnel and bullied Seattle's front 7 most of the 1st half getting solid yards on the ground. Seattle was able to get that figured out in the 2nd half once they figured out Jimmy Clausen couldn't throw, but I still can appreciate the cleverness of Gase and his ability to adapt. Again, that's not something we would have ever seen under Trestman or any other coordinator that's ever been here, really. When Cutler gets back, I would like to see them get Bennett involved in the passing game more. Let's see what he can do lined up as a WR from time to time. The Bears have nobody there without Alshon Jeffery. Royal is a slot guy, Bellamy and Wilson can't create separation.
  21. Is he a safety? Rolle and Amos have been fine so far this year, but beyond those two, there is no depth behind them.
  22. Anybody else notice John Fox blowing off Pete Carroll there at the end of the game. CBS didn't catch all of it, but it looked like there wasn't much of a handshake after the game. Fox was pissed about something. May have been the challenge.
  23. As mentioned in the GT, Jeff Rodgers is one of the worst special teams coaches in the league. He may be one of the few guys out there who isn't a substantial improvement over Joe Decamillas. I was disappointed when Fox hired him, and that disappointment has been validated before week 4 of the season. There is no excuse for it.
  24. Agreed. No reason why he shouldn't be the starter next week unless Cutler is ready to play. I don't care who you played, zero points is a definite sign your quarterback sucks. There's enough of a body of work to know Clausen isn't NFL material. Give Fales a shot.
