This was probably Cutler's worst game of the season. I hold him mostly responsible for the loss, although so many others hand a hand in it. I counted at least 5 deep balls he missed to either wide open receivers or receivers who had a good step on their man, and he just flat out missed. His deep ball has not been on point for most of the year and it really hurt the Bears in this game today.
The INT was brutal, and he could have had two others. I thought he looked confused the entire game. Mangini did a great job of disguising his blitzes. Conversely, I thought Gase had another bad game calling plays. He does not mix in the play action passing as much as he should when the Bears actually churn out some yardage on the ground. I think opponents are starting to sit on some of those screen plays we've seen all season, so now it's up to him to adjust.
At any rate, the only thing I look forward to now is seeing if Kevin White suits up at any point these next two weeks.
The thing about this team is that they are capable of beating most teams, but just as capable of losing to the bad ones as well. It's anybody's guess what happens the rest of the way. I'm betting they win 2 more to get to 7-9.
Lastly, I think it's becoming more and more evident that the Bears #1 need this off-season is at ILB. McClellin was getting picked on the entire game, and he looked terrible. None of the ILB's have great instincts to shoot a gap and disrupt a play. They need playmakers.
