  1. Teo' has definitely not helped himself today at the combine. A 4.80 40 after dropping 15 pounds of weight? Not good. The kid from Florida and Missouri can sure fly.
  2. I'm interested in seeing what Ogletree does today. Any particular players you guys are interested in?
  3. The way I look at it with Austin is that his versatility as a runner, receiver, and returner makes him more valuable, and it's because he can have an impact in multiple areas of the game. You have to think with a new offensive mind running the ship this year they will use someone with his skill set in a variety of ways. It would be interesting to see him used in spot situations as a motioned in running back while Forte flanks out to receiver. Kid is a matchup nightmare. Again, just my two cents. Cooper makes a lot of sense too. I still am giving Austin the edge though.
  4. I think Austin is a better football player than Cooper. So yeah.. I would.
  5. Officially Austin ran a 4.34, and Goodwin ran a 4.27. Still very impressive.
  6. I think you're right on Goodwin, but Tavon Austin was already being considered for a late first round pick before the combine. You have to think with these results he's almost guaranteed himself as a lock to be a first rounder. If Lane Johnson isn't available at 20 for us, I am taking Tavon Austin. Just my two cents.
  7. That's what I see, until they change the times to officials.
  8. The two guys that I am really high on, Tavon Austin, and Marquise Goodwin just ran an unofficial 4.25...
  9. Last year the free agent market and draft class for offensive lineman was garbage, but this year it is about as good as it gets for both. It would be wise for the Bears to take advantage of this opportunity.
  10. I'm usually the one defending Webb, but I have to say that I would be surprised if they do not sign or draft his replacement this year, given the type of class that's available. If they don't, I hope they at least are able to add some good interior lineman that can hold their own. He has improved quite a bit in the last two years, but he is definitely replaceable if the right player comes along. Carimi is lucky he was a recent 1st round pick. We may be looking at his replacement come next year if his pass protection doesn't drastically improve.
  11. Here's an interesting factoid I just read via twitter.
  12. Every left tackle drafted outside the top 10 is pretty much a work in progress, and will take a year or two to develop. Tackles are much the same as WR because it is a difficult position to get adjusted to right out of the gate. If you're looking for somebody to come in right away and not have that learning curve, you're talking about free agency.
  13. Vance McDonald is an interesting TE prospect.
  14. Yeah Corderrelle Paterson. He has all the tools, but still pretty raw. Suppose to be the best receiver in this class.
  15. Zach Ertz has incredibly short arms. Damn..
  16. Is Armstead worth a 2nd round pick? The more I look at this draft the more I'm actually kind of hoping the Bears find a way to pick up a 3rd rounder. There is a ton of depth at a lot of positions.
  17. Tavon Austin, Marquise Goodwin, and Markus Wheaton. Those are 3 guys I have at the top of my list as receiver options in this draft.
  18. I like Athletic offensive lineman. He just became a favorite. He's not a pile of goo either. Kid looks put together. I would definitely endorse him as a potential draftee.
  19. What do you guys think about Terron Armstead? I believe he's the fastest, most athletic OL in the draft. Just ran a 4.65 40. I saw Brad Biggs just tweeted the Bears spoke to him at the senior bowl. Interesting prospect.
  20. Don't flame me. I figured I might as well throw this out there just as a conversation piece for a while since these are slow news days. This Incarceratedbob dude is a bit of a wack job, but surprisingly has been right on many things NFL the last several years. He called the Mario Williams, and the Peyton Manning signings well before they happened. He also called the Brandon Marshall trade before many of the major networks got their information. Yes, he's been wrong several times as well. So at any rate, take this with a grain of salt. I found it interesting. We know that Phil is looking for WR help. Welker is up there in age, but you can't argue with his production. I'd probably rather have Amendola, who's a younger version of Welker if we go the route of free agency. If we go the route of the draft, I'd rather have Tavon Austin. He fits the West Coast style of offense though, that's for sure. Very shifty, not fast, but supremely quick. Obviously much better than Bennett, who's really just another guy at this point.
  21. I wouldn't because of the money. The hope is to get somebody better than Bushrod, because he isn't that great either.
  22. That would be worse case scenario. I still think we'll be able to find a replacement via the draft or free agency.
  23. I said this before, but I'm not going to really be all the upset if we let Melton walk in order to sign offensive lineman or someone else in free agency. I like him, but I don't think he is the best Defensive tackle that he claims to be.
  24. Adding a TE doesn't change a thing about lacking speed at the WR position, or the offense in general.
  25. I have concerns about an offensive lineman coming off a serious foot injury. I don't question his talent. As a 3rd, the value is much better than it is in the 1st or 2nd. I'd be a bit gun shy if I were the Bears, given their bad history of taking players who come in pre-injured.
