Blake Annen - signed though 2016

Featured Replies

Anybody know this name? He is a TE on our team.

Annen is a ridiculous athlete, running a 4.41 at the school's pro day, also posting 25 bench press reps, a 34 inch vertical and 10 foot broad jump. 6'4" 247

He did 16-182-2 his senior year.

Maybe he turns into a beast with some coaching.

Very interesting. Reading up on him he's said to be an excellent blocker which could be why he wasn't so productive as a pass catcher. He was also stuck behind Travis Kelce, who is now one of the better TEs in the league, for 3 years.

He sounds a lot like a former Broncos 7th round who a lot of guys here wanna bring in, Virgil Green.....I wouldn't be surprised at all if the staff had that comparison in their mind with this extension.

Reading some comments about Green, and his role as a blocking TE, it sounds like were gonna be needing to add a blocking TE like him. Maybe Annen is that guy.

Looks like he's an h-back type. From the two games I watched he seems to be a good blocker. Sounds like he dropped too many passes in camp last year for the Eagles so they cut him and Emery signed him.

Gase hasn't used a FB for two years so my wish for one might not come true. Maybe we'll run more h-back stuff with a guy like Annen.
