Lamarr Houston to OLB

Featured Replies

I don't doubt that they played multiple schemes, but where are you seeing we was a pass rushing OLB?

I remember he played DE and moved inside on passing downs, but don't remember reading about OLB.

Also Brooks Reid was signed by the Falcons lol

Read the article. It says it twice.

Holy shit, pasted the wrong article

The point I was trying to make, is , in most cases, NTs dont get drafted that high. Its a valve of a top 10 pick. I just dont think they will draft him there. I think if we trade back with someone like Cleve, and draft him at 12 that would make more sense. If we can get the 12th and 19th pick and still get Shelton, that would be a thing.

I certainly get your point, but just don't agree with it.

He's the only guy they visited twice, so there's obviously some interest there. Trading back for him would be huge, but I don't think they'd hesitate to take him at 7 if they can't trade back.

I think he will be a good player.

So would you take a NT that say has 38 tackles , 1 sack,1 FF ?

or

A WR (Cooper) that does 78-1050-7 TSs.

Who has a greater impact on your team?

Hey, whataya know, I guess I don't know it all lol good call.

I'm still laughing that I pasted a link to Brooks.

I had hoped the Bears looked at him.... Lol

Oakland played multiple scheme. 2013 lamar's position was essentially a pass rushing OLB.

I just can't see Houston being able to drop back and guard anybody in traffic. He's too stout. When we signed him, he was primarily a run-stuffing DE who occasionally got to the QB.

Willie young is 6-4, 251. David Bass is 6-4, 256. I get those guys playing there. Young is 6-3, 300. Unless he can jump and run like Charles Barkley in his prime, I don't see it happening.

Does said NT consistently draw double teams? Thus making the rest of the defense better?

Fangios ILBs dropped into coverage more than any other team. Not sure he has his OLBs drop into coverage, that's the ILBs job it would appear.

I think all the positions have valve, just that we disagree on where his valve lies as a #7.

Im calling right now, they do not take Shelton at 7. If we trade back , then a possibility.

Might have to bet on that at a later date.

Do you still think we draft Shelton if we sign Pot Roast?

Nope, that's why I'd wait to make that bet. It'd be possible, but highly unlikely IMO.

Agreed. Right now I feel like the nose tackle is a glaring weakness. We sign Pot Roast and we could go any direction. Safety, cornerback, linebacker, o-line, quarterback . . . (I'm still ruling out WR but I wouldn't stake my life on it.)

Sign Pot Roast and my attention turns to Trae Waynes CB.

Was just about to say that.

If they sign Pot Roast and a CB then I'm looking to trade down for Eric Kendricks.

Would love to get Kendricks in round 2. I think he goes anywhere after pick 24.

He's not making it past Green Bay IMO, would be a huge get for them, so I'm hoping against it.

Think he's undervalued because of his size (6'0") but Vic had Willis, Bowman, and Borland play the position all ay 6'0" and under.
