Instead of Jeffery and Glennon-THIS

Featured Replies

If the reports are true Jeffery and Glennon will both get 14 mil a year.

Jeffery is worth it but think we may not get that deal done

Glennon is not significantly better than Hoyer which is less than half the cost.

So you sign Hoyer to 15 mil, 3 year contract, he has no problem being a bridge player and is statistically in the same tier as Glennon.

So with the extra money we sign Jack Doyle to a three year contract 16 mil. ( he is a good blocker and can catch the ball) allow us to play 2 TE sets that enhance the running game.

We sign Kyle /FB he is an excellent blocker and can catch the ball and run. He would be great support for the running game and short passing game. 3 year 11 mil

We sign Ricky Wagner/RT he adds to our already strong OL

We sign Robert Woods 4.51 speed -excellent route runner and great hands, gives us a dependable WR for Hoyer to go to and can play out of the slot.

Other signers are Duron Harmon/FS

Gilmore/CB

Campbell/DE

In the draft

we trade back for people to get a shot at a QB-

1st Thomas/DE-OLB

2a Obi Melifonwu/CB

2b Zay Jones/WR

3 Peterman/QB

At QB Hoyer-Shaw-Peterman( I have seen people say he wont be any good to actually comparing him to Derek Carr)

At WR White(still a ?) Meredith a potenial #2 Zay Jones a future stud Robert Woods a good reliable wideout

At Te Miller-Doyle-Brown-rookie

At FB Kyle Juszczyk good blocker and receiver

I think if you give Glennon the money, you are doing it in the sense that you think he has potential to be the guy, but a high probability that he probably isn't. You are okay giving him a big chunk guaranteed today to take that chance (and it doesn't have long-term impacts if it doesn't work out) while drafting a QB relatively early who you think has similar odds (thus doubling down). In a perfect world, both pan out and you have a major luxury on your hand, realistically, you hope you got it right on one of them and found your guy. If after a year you aren't happy, you can always go right back to the well again (and my view is we should continue to invest in QB until we are happy and after that, we shouldn't be afriad to pull the trigger on a developmental guy every few years (cause you never know).
