How could Hester lead in punt return average when he is rarely punted to. If Hester and Cribbs received the same type of kickoffs/punts, I think Hester would blow Cribbs out of the stadium. I was saying that from King's point of few. All the intangible things that Hester affects are not in the stat sheet, which is what most of those yahoos go off when they make their lists. Hester is clearly better, but if you didn't watch the games, you wouldn't see a lot of the things that teams do against him. Hester is one of those players that comes around once in a generation, he is that good. Cribbs is not even in the same class as Hester. I dont want to diss Cribbs he is a great returner in his own rights but Hester is something the Return game has never seen before. To even compare the two you are discrediting everything he has done in the last 2 seasons. The funny thing is last year Hester didnt even return kickoffs till later in the season (and he responded with 2 against the Rams) had he, he would have prolly broken the record in his first two seasons. Cribbs just doesnt measure up to a guy Special Teams Coaches lose sleep over. Cribbs is a great returner but Hester is a game breaking returner. He picks Cribbs over Hester for KR/PR. How the hell can he justify that??? 2. Peace As was pointed out earlier in the thread, it is pretty obvious that these guys are using kickoff and return averages rather than seeing the whole body of work and how Hester affects the oppositions kicking game. Sure, Hester isnt getting the bigger kick return averages that Cribbs gets, but I seriously doubt that Cleveland is getting the same starting field position that the Bears got all last year as a result of Cribbs waiting for the kick/punt.
