Packers at Bears, 9/27/10 game thread

Featured Replies

The Bears have held one of the best offenses in the league to 17 points so far.

Pretty damn good, IMO.

Yes, pretty damn good. I wonder how much better it could have been if they were aggressive and actually went for the kill.

Sorry, but the horrible offensive call didn't do anything on the actual play. The field position is consequential; with that I agree. But trying to give Lovie credit for the punt return which was in spite of his shit 4th down call is crazy.

Who is trying to give Lovie credit for the punt return?

If we kick a field goal, we dont get the punt return that scores.

Thems the facts.

Wow, went from really bad to great throw by Cutler and even better catch by Olsen.

My point is that you tried to turn the bad 4th down call into a positive for the coaching staff. Putting your money in the lottery isn't a smart move, even if you happen to get lucky and win money later on.

Or our guys could have been shredded for many deep scores, guess we will never know.

You're right. My only wish is that we actually could know. We never will, unfortunately.

Honestly it doesn't matter now does it.

I actually think it does matter. It's that passive attitude that has killed the Bears over the past few years.

It has nothing to do with lotteries or any other nonsense.

Oh, I agree, but i'm not the one all upset by it.

I'm not upset, but it seems like you'll grasp at anything to support Lovie Smith's zombified approach to coaching.

Typed as the Bears get stuffed yet again on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and short.

Down to the man here.

Lets do it GOULD!!!!!

For once we agree.

Its actually a great coaching strategy to slow down a high powered offense!

And it worked!!!!

I say it doesn't matter because we are going to win. That is all that matters. Or am I wrong.

Not to some folks!!!!

WHATEVER BRO!!!

BEARS WIN!!!!!

3 and 0, son!!!!!

I'm also happy about this 3-0 start. But don't you think the Bears could have done so much more over the past few years if not for Lovie? I really think they could have done so much better if he wasn't holding them back with A] his weak cover-2 defense and B] his loyalty to braindead offensive coordinators.

Maybe but we will never know.

Here is what we do know,

This year the bears are 3-0.

This game the defensive game plan held the packers in check.

Yes, giving up nearly 400 yards "worked." But I hate to rely on a late forced fumble for the win. Or a dropped INT on the Packers side of the ball. Or the Packers to have more penalties then they had in any game in the last 50 years. So, I guess it "worked."

Listen to the postgame...nearly everyone will acknowledge that the Bears got beat in most aspects of the game but got lucky with a turnover and the penalties.

Ok man, whatever.

Have a frikin beer.

Yes. I actually think you are wrong. It worked this time, but it doesn't always work. And if you continue to pat yourself on the back when you get lucky, and fail to modify the things that are wrong (i.e. the same things Lovie has ignored for the past 3 or 4 years), then yes, the problems in this type of win DO matter.

Having said that, of course, I'd rather be lucky and win than perfect and lose.
