    Battle at LT

It could be that our best option if Wright goes down is to move Trapilo from LT to RT and bring Braxton off the bench. Game day active rosters give limited options that are different from long term replacement. Either way a little competition is good.
  3. The interview was on 670 the score. Said sometimes guys need to feel the pressure to realize their potential. Its just a wakeup call to get him to be his best.

I think they may have him be the swing tackle and will get snaps at both spots. I don't think Wright has competition. I think they may like Theo Benedet a lot to give him some time at LT. Also Kiran is back on the field.

  6. This is the guy they had to have instead of Jalen Carter. Not a great news day for Ryan Poles' OL draft picks. Trapillo seems destined for the swing tackle position as he continues to lose reps to Braxton Jones and an undrafted free agent at LT.

What has Roshour said? I can't find anything...
  9. Wright is being challenged. He has been getting lazy when fatigued and it shows in his play according to Roshour.

  11. I dont want Owens either we need to start mixing in some youth for an older S room.

Dont know if this means anything but Ozzy played on the right side today.

Wrong. He was talking about not being a lazy ass and wants him to be in an athletic position. Braxton gave up the sack because after he popped the guy and didn't sit. That affects your lateral agility. On the TD where he got got ghosted by the LB, he was standing there like Frankenstein. Butt down chest up with weight on the balls of your feet (athletic base). Sound familiar? The anchor you are referring to starts the same way (athletic base), then the feet stagger to provide better energy absorbtion from the defender. It also enables the offensive player a punch and grab opportunity.

Maybe but proper stance also applies to reacting to a sudden Inside rush.
  15. He was talking about his anchor. That isnt an issue when getting beaten with speed to the outside or inside, its only when you take on defenders and engage them. it is most apparent when you are beaten by a bullrush.

I only heard generic talk about technique being good one day and bad the next and the standard needs to be met.

You got that from that? I need to take you to Vegas. That's some Rainman stuff. Remember the term Frankenstein?
  18. So I guess Roushar agrees with me on the bullrushes and Jones' overall performance Sunday.
  19. 2 CBs and 2 S's is what I saw. UDFA S Major Burns designated to IR and CB Shaun Wade to IR. A WR was cut too. I think it is to replace the two lost to injury and too look at more guys if T Johnson isn't looking as good as thought.

    Camp tidbits

I know we've got some injuries to the CBs but we just added 4 safeties to our roster. Something is going to change on that depth chart. I hope Owens gets cut. I was hopeful for Tysheem Johnson was good enough to make the 53 but adding this much competition late in camp doesn't bode well for him.
  21. ah i remember now, thank you. The Bears have had decades of decisions like that. I sure hope things are different now. Seems like it, but i wanna see it in regular season games, before I can truly believe.
  22. He was pretty good, but didnt fit Poles requirements to keep. I think only because the Bears were in win now mode, they moved James Daniel to G and Cody Whitehair to C, such a dumb Bears move. If only they let them two develop at their more natural positions,we could have had a long term center and maybe a different Whitehair who didnt flip positions.
  23. and i wonder, are they awful, or did we just have a terrible OL coach and scheme? Daniels is pretty good isnt he? or was for a minute after us at least?
  24. For sure a dominant pass rusher is probably our biggest hole, maybe LT is. RB is next I agree. If we can get a good pass rush fromt he guys we have and our scheme, then this team can go as far as their learning curve takes them. if we dont have a reliable pass rush, then we can get to #8 or something but we will never beat the really good teams without one. If Booker is that guy, it seriously accelerates the plan and opens that SB contention window.
  25. I said Jones did a good job on 66% (10/15) of his pass reps, and an even higher percentage of his run reps. I wasnt poking at you or anyone. Im not sure how my own analysis proved me incorrect tho? Ozzy didnt have problem with the speed rush, he had problems hand fighting against that chop move, thats what killed him on his bad reps? Anyway, we can disagree, that makes this board fun and challenges my ideas and I learn stuff too, so i appreciate your real take as well. But mine wasnt aimed at you, when I started I was expecting to be shown that my initial thoughts form casually watching the game were wrong, so i was actually following what you said in my own head as I started, but then I just made notes on each snap, and went where they took me? But even if we disagree on some of the bull rush snaps, surely you saw Jones get beat pretty badly to the outside and inside? He gave up a sack and two pressures even without the reps we disagreed on? And we can discount the bullrish reps, but i think everyone does know thats his weakness? Anyway Im no fan of Jones' thats for sure, and Ive said it for a while, but i am agnostic right now on Trapilo and Amagadje. I have some hopes and gut feelings about Trapilo, but one game of tape at LT isnt anywhere near enough for me to know anything much about him - only how he played that one day, against 2nd 3rd and 4th string guys. As for the false start, youre right it was close, and they didnt call it. Im not making much of how I feel about Jones based on that for sure.
  26. Side note: there are three former Bears vying for an OL position with the Fins. James Daniels, Larry Borom and Germaine Ifedi.
  27. Booker supposedly was nonchalant all TC but showed up Sunday. If he can build on this and bring it week after week, we may have that pass rusher that is not on paper. Just imagine if he becomes that, then I see Chicago going DT or even RB early 2026 draft.
