The running game has changed in the past 5 years as defenses play more 2 deep safeties and shell defenses to counter the modern passing offenses. I dont think you can use KC as a model for that now. We need a HB that can grind out first downs consistently. They dont need to be speedy, but HBs that break off a single 70 yard run in a game are less valuable than one that consistently rips off 7 and 12 yard runs. So you need a back with consistent vision, and I dont think Swift is that guy.

PFF is random. Braxton cant handle a bull rush and will give up sacks and pressures at key moments, because the DE will save the power moves for those moments. If you think he's so great, then someone will trade for him. Can't have it both ways.

and I am sure Johnson will go more on 4th downs than the previous Bears coaches, maybe not to the level of Campbell, but I am sure he will go more than Flus/Waldron/Getsy ever did.

Pundits keep trying to find something to talk about. Replace Santos? A better offense will produce more points in extra points. Over 50 is touch and go but I think more offense will put us in less long attempt FGs. Not yet.

I think with Eric and BJ directing things, our RBs will shine. What big names succeeded in KC while Eric was there, he used reative unknowns and created a running game that got them to SBs. Everyone wants the Barkleys and Henrys but not many of those in the league. 2 years ago Swift was the 5 th rated RB in the league in Philly. Last yr he didnt shine is a dysfuncional offense with fired coaches and a rookie QB. The OL sucked but for some reason no one thinks that affected Swift and DJ. Its ranked 30th in the league as a group by PFF. Next year they will be ranked top 10 without a big name and no one will remember what PFF ranked them.

If someone is not able to participate in TC, you really think someone is trading for him? I think not. I think they let him finish getting healthy and is the backup plan if Ozzy or Kiran cant handle the starting job. Say what you want about Braxton but a 3 yr vet with starting experience that was ranked 20th last year among all tackles is not a discard item at LT. He takes heat for all his weaknesses but no one mentions his run blocking ability and what got him to be ranked 20th among 142 Ts in the NFL. With Thuney next to him and a legitimate play caller, you can give him help to not be a noticable weakness on the starting 5. He is our floor, and we could do worst.

Pass on Cam, I think he will fade out quick. Wasn't a fan of him in in the draft. Kaleb will do well in Pitt and wished he was around round 3. RJs best shot is this year, hampered by Flus/Waldo and injuries last year. Ben likes a power guy like Monty and he might get reps as FB too. I think he splits carries w Swift while the rookie gets a series here and there before seeing his time.

if we could get a 4th for him that would be amazing, especially considering he was drafted in the 5th I also believe in Tremaine Edmund's athleticism, but he would save $15M on the cap if you cut or trade him next year. And Kmet is another $10M so you get $25M right there if you need it.

Best case scenario is we trade him for a 4th or more. He has to perform well to get a 3rd comp pick if we keep him all year. I think Poles bet against that being over the cap now for 2026

right. he was already susceptible to bull rushes, and without an offseason to train, hes not gonna come back stronger than he was last year before the injury. You kinda have to proceed on the idea that his time as a starter is over for us.

I've been thinking similar things. I know Roschon doesn't really have explosiveness as a home run hitter, but hes a tough runner in the mold of David Montgomery, Raymont Harris and similar backs. I've always loved those kind of players. So far, RJ hasnt shown the vision that the other two have/had but with a proper blocking scheme, that could all change. I still wish we had Kaleb Johnson or Cam Skatebo.

A two time loser as a HC , how many of those got 3 HC jobs? If we arre successful , he will ride with that tide or just give him more money. Everyone likes that. We are slowly converting to an offensive team but have horses on the D. This will be interesting to see this play out.

I was thinking JAX, new HC/Playcaller, bad division. CIN has to play BAL and PIT 4 times a year. I think it will come down to their defense. They are going to score 20+ every game.

What would be cool is if DA is content staying as one of the premier DCs (like Fangio) instead of trying HC again. Some people don't realize that NO was his 2nd stint as a HC. He was the Raiders HC from 2012-2014. Interestingly enough, he was fired in season both times and never finished his 3rd season with either team. However, people may also not know how good he has been as a DC. From 2017-2023 between his time as a DC and HC, his defense was top 10 in scoring 5 out of 7 years and 13th and 14th the other 2 years, and 5 years out of 7 in the top 10 in Takeaways. To put that into perspective, Fangio, in all his years as a DC and HC, never had a 7 year stretch where his defense finished in the top 14 in scoring defense or had 5 out of 7 years in the top 10 in Takeaways. I honestly think a lot of people are underestimating how good this defense can be.

It's just another illustration on how bad the franchise has been in the passing game. He didn't really do much in Philly, but that would've been enough to make him the best WR in franchise history.

He will shine, but asking a 7th round rookie to be a #1 or 2 early on is a lot to expect. Im sure they will give him one series each half to break him in.

I would swap SF and Texans. Also swap GB and Pitt. One more thing, I think we'll be better than GB and equal to the Queens.

Do not underestimate Monangai. He is 5'8" 211 but with a low center of gravity, he will be hard to tackle in the middle of the pack. He was productive against good talent in the Big 10. He was one of the best RBs in college in yards after contact, goods balance.
