A strong running game and quick passes will slow down any pass rush. -
Just my opinion but I think they keep most of the assets on the offensive side of the. Like you said a key injury to a couple weapons and we're pulling people off the street which won't be good for continuity for a leading offense in the league next year. Look at the mess in KC, they still have a great QB and great coach but their WRs OL was missing people. Didn't finish well. Depth is important. The defense is a big mess but with injured players coming back and people like Booker getting better, they may not see that a big deal may have to high of a price and add 3 or 4 pieces in the draft. I think they figure it out without Garrett or Crosby. It won't be the first time I'm been wrong on my guesses before. It will be an interesting off-season especially if we get farther in the playoffs.

I think the cheesheads are ridiculous looking. Not sure but I think the cheese graters lowers us to their level. Now the players wearing them is just a slap in the face to their players but if it's a popular fans thing, it's going to put us in the same corny Packers fans category. Just my opinion.

The good thing is, this is still the low end of this. The roster can still improve and players will become more familiar with the system. So if they need to move on from a key contributor to make the overall team better, I totally understand it. If you are weighing contract value to team value, you can't have too many losing propositions, otherwise the team can fall apart with 1 or 2 key injuries. That does make several of the higher paid guys expendable unless they are willing to rework their contracts get more guaranteed money with less AAV.

One frustrating thing on this, Poona Ford was a free agent DT this offseason, the Bears signed Jarrett for 3/42 and the Rams signed Ford for 3/29. Ford is the Rams top rated defensive player. Their D-Line is legit across the board, Byron Young and Kobie Turner are both really good as well. The Bears will have to utilize the quick game more and not leave Caleb back there too long, he won't have time.

It will be interesting to see what the bears choose to do.

Defense needs a few TOs and tackle well, we will win with our offense. Coleman Shelton is their center. Ranked 13 th out of 40. 36th in pass blocking grade "7th run blocking. Has only given up 1 sack , can't find his pressures numbers but I would think high. He should be our focus for attacking the QB. Stafford isn't very mobile but he gets the ball out quick. We need to take those routes away -
Paramount and Peacock have as well, maybe even Netflix. No it is impressive for a Wild Card game as well.

We have a Jared Verse problem. He being the one with the best Bull Rush in the NFL. Fortunately he’s not fast and bendy which gives Theo more problems but it’s still a big concern for me.

The Bears are playing with house money at this point so I'm at peace with whatever the outcome. I think the only way I would be upset is if they came out and embarassed themselves (ie losing and looking bad doing it). I don't see this Bears team coming out and leaving without a fight. The Green Bay game was more personal being who it was, what beating them meant to the team, organization, and the fan base on top of the historic signifigance of that game. I never like losing but if we come out and give it our best and come up short I will still feel good about the teams future and will be proud of what they have accomplished this season. This one is a hard one to predict. There are factors coming in that could give us an edge. Stafford's finger, warm weather team playing in frigid conditions, in a hostile environment (crowd will be electric). The Rams are a team that seemed to have peaked 6 weeks ago and have looked beatable since. On their side they have two dynamic WR's that can give our secondary fits, two solid RB's, and when Stafford is on that offense can be lethal. Also, will there be a letdown on the Bears side. Was last weekl this team's Super Bowl? I don't see the Bears letting down, they have taken a very business like approach following the Packer game. I could even see them playing a little more settled and focused out of the gate. Last week being GB could have had the guys too amped. The key will be to have a quicker start. We don't want to dig a hole vs the Rams. Keep the game close and give ourselves a shot to pull it out. We'll have to keep pace. I believe we can. -
Wondering, does anyone know where to get the cheese grater foam hats? Years back I ordered one from somewhere and it turned out to be a scam so I'm a little hesitant. I do want one but need to know if there's a legit place to order one from.

I really like DJ Moore - especially the past few weeks. He's been balling out for us. I just know that without a pass rush, we are unlikely to be a real threat for the super bowl. i mean this year might we scratch our way there? its not impossible! Im here for it! But i think its a lot more credible going foward, if this team has a defense. And so I dont pick DJ Moore because hes the worst WR we have. FAR from it. He might be the best. But he's the one with the $24.5M payday. And for that reason ONLY I think he's trade bait And would clear up $16.5M in cap space for us. It's nothing more than that. i think hes a fantastic player. The entire argument is only his cap hit, and how badly the other side of the ball needs that money.

We differ in what we think the bears will do. I predict they restructure both contracts and keep them one more year because just as the offense is starting to look great, they won't want to take a step back. Of course I might be wrong but until something happens it's just speculation anyways.

yeah, theyre meatheads. when youre not great youre awful, when youre kinda good, youre amazing. they just over state whatever the common wisdom is, which is usually how many games youve won or lost in the past 5 weeks. Dont believe em when youre down, dont believe em when youre up.

I was at Favres last game, Dec 21 2010. The Dome collapsed and the game was moved to Golpher Stadium. Seats were first come first serve, I was 7 rows up, 15 yd line behind Bears bench. Corey Wooten sacked Favre and he never got up. I was also at Soldier Field Dec 29 2009 when the Bears beat the crap out of Favre as a Viking. -
They will start dumping resources that way this offseason, and if they can shed a DJ or Kmet, don't be shocked. Sure having them is great and keeps continuity, but there are a lot of holes on that D that draft picks cant fill.

well said. Caleb is a "winner" thats that weird illogical ability to make plays when it matters most. One example i think of is when the guy caught the ball on top of his helmet late in the super bowl, when Eli Manning threw it - thats a winner. Its not logical, and you cant teach it, but when it matters you find a way. Now of course you have to be good regularly too, and the Caleb critics arent wrong. 50% completion isnt gonna cut it. But anyone fairly looking at his season has to conclude that Caleb has gotten much better at playing from the pocket, making throws in rhythm (like the one you mentioned) and you can tell from his body language the game is slowing down for him This is why i say he is special, a winner, elite and still not good. LOL There is no reason to expect that Caleb wont continue to grow in the regular part of his game - it's already night and day from the first 4 weeks of this season. And while he spent this past offseason learning footwork and trying to digest the playbook, next year he will be working on the more subtle things, and I expect a big improvement in doing the regular "good" things. We have a real winner here, and I am so excited for where he will take us. Like you say, we have nothing in Bears history to compare it to, the closest perhaps would be Michael Jordan. He didnt start off perfectly and it took a minute to get past the Pistons. He got his coach with a new fangled triangle offense, and after a time, he was dominant. I think that's what we're in for here. I honestly thought this was possible from his college film. I knew what he still needed to learn, but that stuff is teachable, and being a winner isnt. GO BEARS!

Your post made me think of this for some reason. That pass to Moore to win the game was picture perfect. In rhythm, pump fake and WHAM. But then the more impressive pass on fourth and 8 was vintage Mahomes. Maybe better than Mahomes!?! So we have this gunslinger mentality like Favre but who doesn't throw nearly the number of picks Favre did while also having the Mahomes uncanny stuff too like having the wheels to run for first downs when we need that to keep moving. By the way, did anyone else notice that in that fourth quarter he dove forward for the first down? Like his whole mentality of self-preservation changes when the game is on the line. I'm just so impressed with the kid. And if Green Bay hit that last pass and found a way to beat us in the end, I'd still be saying the same things about Caleb. As a 61 year old Bears fan, I honestly have nothing else to compare this experience to.

OK thanks. I think the game I'm thinking of was his last as a Viking's QB. That was a cold night with the Vikings playing outdoors for some reason. -
That was before Urlacher's time, that was 98.
