  2. Its a GMs job to check everything out that is normal business. BUT if you look at all of his contracts, the stars of the team all come do in 2027 and 2028. He sets up outs the year before. Adding a 40+mil player disrupts all the work he did to get to the day Caleb has to be paid. He said he wants to build thru the draft. Trading several high picks to get one player throws that out the window. He made a trade in the second round this year to get 3 2nd round picks. All with the chance to be core players. I dont think he throws his long range plan away to get a player as AZ54 said would be a situational pass rusher in this defense. This year he picked up Dayo, drafted Turner who should be able to play in and out. Signed Jarret to help with the pass rush. No way he signed Grady and Dayo to throw away the plan of a 40+ mil player. The thought of a high end pass rusher is intriging but he traded for Sweat, 2 yrs ago to be that player and paid him which looks like a cheap deal now. He had a great first year and in the second yr was injuried with a dysfuntional coach. BJ has stated several times how good Sweat looks this preseason. I trust BJ's opinion. Trading for Micah is just a passing thought that will never happen.

  4. we still might get him! who knows? I can tell you Poles is looking into it 100%.
  5. FB is full of crap. Thank you for verifying. The taking less had me intrigued and I was excited to share.
  6. Sadly, Parsons didnt say hed take less to go to Chicago. That was a hoax unfortunately.
  7. I'm making some assumptions in saying this, but adding Parsons could make this a complete roster that could go as far as their production takes them. Meaning, this may not be the year we win a Superbowl, but a lot of these guys are the players that are going to do it, so if you add a real edge rusher, youre that much closer. Sounds like we would have to make a deal with Dallas, and that isnt gonna be easy. And it might just be too rich.
  8. Less than what? The problem is we'd have to compensate two people: him and the Cowboys' owner.
  9. He said he'd join for less....
  10. I just dont see the Bears dropping all the picks and then the cash. If the Bears show they are contenders this season and someone like Parsons is available next year that will put the Bears in that drivers seat, I'd be completely on board. Also, if it is only one 1st, id be fine. But it will more.
  11. It would definitely peak my interest...
  12. for sure. but if he is available, and we can get him, we should.
  13. I suspect you are right. He will get paid, and if not Jerry will want a ransom in picks. I just hope we get lucky and something happens where we could get him.
  14. Jerry Jones is the world's biggest attention whore. He's the king of any publicity is guys publicity. Micah Parsons is in the same mold. This is just a tactic both of them are using. Jerry and Micah know how much Jerry has to pay. It has to be at or more than TJ Watt.

  16. Dallas holds all the cards, remember Myles Garrett said he would never play another snap again in Cleveland. Then they gave him his money and everyone got happy all of a sudden.

they have everyone's body hooked up to sensors and when someone is fatuiged that give them time off. Its the new advanced technology they are using.

Not according to our OC. They are being extra cautious with Braxton to ensure his ramp up goes smoothly. News is all over the place. I heard today on ESPN 1000 that Braxton is the front runner. Believe nothing until BJ or Poles say it.
  19. this all makes sense - and its how I see it too. If Amagadje dominates, then I have no reason to want Trapilo - Im not a fan of one or the other, I just want the best guy in there. And of course, taking into account that this is Braxton's last year on his rookie deal, and while he's given us a lot for a 5th rounder, he is not that good as a LT. "good for a 5th rounder" and "good for the NFL" are not the same thing!

Sure is leaning that way but I'm not completely out on Amegadjie once the game reps start. Biggest takeaway here is that Braxton is out of the competition. Maybe there is a sudden turn of events but at this point I'd say they want Jones to get consistency with the 2nd string in advance of the preseason games so he can showcase his skills for the trade market.
  21. yup - it looks like if Trapilo can show against Miami, he will get the job.

Ozzy took all first team reps at LT today. Amegadjie is injured and didn’t practice. All of Jones reps were with 2nd and 3rd string.
  23. this all makes sense. And just so Im clear to everyone - I would NOT trade three firsts for the guy. So if the trade price is too high, then i think we will and should pass. But I also agree with you 100% that he is a true stud, and if we can afford the trade, then he is absolutely worth the cap space, especially with Caleb on his rookie deal. Stinger earlier suggested that you dont monkey with Jaylon Johnson to get Parsons because JJ's contract is aligned with Calebs. That makes no sense because: 1) JJ already wants a new deal and is probably a hold out next year to get one, so alignment is off anyway 2) the whole POINT of the advantage of having a rookie QB is that you can afford these kind of deals for a pass rusher. Maybe someone will make the case that JJ is just that good that you cant lose him - thats not a bad argument at all, but the ones that have already been offered make no sense? If we pick an edge int he first round next year, they will almost certainly never be as good as Parsons already is. Parsons is easily worth more than a 1st round pick right now. But Dallas is going to want a haul, and that's not a great move for us. But if we can add in players and make this deal, we should.
  24. Ha, I just did. I guess we see his fit different but I don't watch Dallas close.
  25. Taking a player like Parsons means changing the scheme from a 4-3 to 3-4. Parsons is great player that would be awesome to have, but then you have the rest of the D that may not fit. Would Parsons fit a 4-3 and be as effective? He would be small at 6-3 245. But Austin Booker was 6'6 245, so maybe. Sweat is 6'6 260, dayo is 6'5 280, Sherman Turner 6-3 290. He would probably become the weak spot for teams to attack with the run. Parsons is a special player but the cap cost, draft cost, and the change of scheme seems too much to risk. If we have to add the pass rush now, offer the deal for a Myles Garrett type.
  26. Micah Parsons is a problem to be dealt with. He could easily fit any scheme. Dallas lined him up as a DE on passing downs. They also played him at OLB. They called it the Joker role. I've seen instances where they played him at 3Tech on a run down and the OG and center both wiffed. He's a top tier athlete with instinct, elite quickness and top end speed. I said my piece about building Superbowl teams and I'll stick to it. I'm just not going to stand by and listen to he is not a scheme fit or would be a situational player. That's simply nonsense. Dude is a stud.
